Attaching a PDF file to a Gmail email

Hi folks,
For some reason I can only attach pictures to Gmail emails. This is really annoying as I'd like to attach a pdf which I downloaded using the browser but it doesn't seem to give me that option?! There is a "downloads" section when I browse for an attachment, but it only shows images I've downloaded.
Does anyone know how to fix this..?
Thanks,
James
Just tried in Astro - scroll to the actual PDF on your SDCard and press and hold - bottom option is send, choose this and it gives you Via Gmail or Via HTC mail options.
Not actually sent anything but that looks like it should work...

I can see why you think you have a problem if you create a email & try to send it the only files you can see are picture files but if you follow Daisy's advice & use a file manager to select the pdf (or any other file type for that matter) it will work for you.
Good afternoon, I also have a problem with attachments and GMail. But actually the opposite of the above. I would like to save some mail attachments to my phone, but somehow this feature is missing. And ideas?
i have another problem with the gmail app. when i get a mail with , lets say, a picture attached, i am not able to download and store that picture, just to watch it (even if i click on "download").. is there any other possibility within the gmail app to do so?

Downloading attachments from Google mail to sd card

Hi,
Does anyone know how to download attachments in Google mail directly to sd card?
In HTC Mail, you get the option of either opening an attachment or saving to sd card.
I am looking for something similar in Google mail to make it quicker to open the attachment the second time around.
Thanks

Bump! Any ideas, anyone?
I think you have to open it and then save within the application you use to open it :/
Use Gmail from the web browser, instead of the GMail app - it will download to /sdcard/download.

Dave

Tried that. No option available in quick office.
Multi touch and save ability are two of the reasons I'm using the HTC mail program. I miss push from the gmail one but can live without it.
You can use Exchange sync with Gmail now, so there's no need to miss it!

shared photos

I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to sharing pictures taken from my phone.
What are my options if I want to share photo's with family/friends. I thought dropbox would be good, but unless I read the directions wrong I can't send anyone links to folders - just individual pictures.
For example, if I am on vacation and take pics with the phone I would like friends and family to view these photo's.
Create an account with Photobucket, or Picasa etc. You can take photos and load them to your account. They have apps you can use to manage the folders you place photos in. Then just direct link people the photo albums.

[Q] How to Save Email Attachment Directly to Dropbox

I'm using the stock Email app and can't figure out a way to directly save email attachments to Dropbox.
Right now, to do this, I have to find the file in my Download folder and then save it to Dropbox.
Long press on the file icon doesn't do anything and doesn't seem to be any setting in email that allows this.
Thanks for any help
Unfortunately, I have the same issue, will spend some time today and see if there is a workaround for this... I'll let ya know...
Ok, so I did some checking and setup and downloaded Box.com's mobile app. Basically same principle as Dropbox but under Box's setting on phone there is a checkbox for "enable upload to box everywhere". Once I checked this box, i was able to open an attachment on 4 different e-mail accounts with stock e-mail app and upload straight to Box. If you're not stuck on Dropbox, give this a try. Mobile App = "Box", setup account at Box.net. Hope it helps...
EDIT: Downside is, Box.net doesn't offer a free sync app for windows/mac... You would have to be a paid user... So, guess I will be waiting for Dropbox to include the feature....

I just download one pdf file from website if there's no download showing press print then save to pdf, or give me any link to pdf fike and i will try.
But first you must have any pdf app in your phone,, and my friend you don't have to install any pdf, just take screenshot from any file
print firm button
thanks for your input.
the button once pressed says....pdf not supported..... i cant download it. it goes to google drive ( triangle icon cloud symbol). then switches back to original website.
i tried to send the web address to gmail but it opens a new application form once i click on the address.
i dont see a way to include the screenshot here.
