Hi, I'm using my Fassy as a temporary replacement as I sell my Note 2 for a downgrade on Swappa. You might be asking why in the hell I'm selling my Note 2. Trust me, I don't want to sell it, but I have to for extra cash.
Anyways, I'm looking through the Development thread and all I see are AOSP roms. My question is, where are all the TouchWiz roms?! I like to rock stockish TouchWiz roms on Sammy phones. So I'm assuming developers are no longer producing TouchWiz roms for this device. In that case, can you, XDA, provide me a link to the most-recent Fassy TouchWiz rom with a modified TouchWiz kernel?
A Thanks will be given to people that help out. Thank you! :good:

Yeah, this device is still being worked on which is amazing. And that would be awesome to see Samsung build 4.2 TouchWiz UX builds for this phone but we all know they are looking ahead haha

You guys misunderstood what the point of this thread was for. It was to see what interest there was for it to see if it is worth my time to kick start and find others that are interested on working on it.

Super slick rom there. I'd def love to have it on my GS3!
I love this ROM, it's really great on my S II, and I imagine would be more enjoyable to use on the S III due to it's 4.8 HD Amoled
Would be nice to have this run on our gs3s

Yes pleaaaase! I think this is how android should work in general...jelly bean maybe?
Fysi, please ignore the naysayers, we want this in a bad way so if you could do anything to make that happen I think there would be alot of happy GS3 owners here! Now go do the right thing. /Dr. Laura voice

Yes, I want this rom too
When I got my "new" s3, I gave my "old" s2 (running Paranoid Android1.1) to my wife.
Well, I knew that this rom really missed me on s3 and I had the hope that someone will port this really innovative rom.
....so, go for it!
Thanks in advance
EDIT: Ok, it seems that everything is moving way fast around S3.
We already have CM9, AOKP and finally ParanoidAndroid
+1 here.
I use this on my Note
As the title states, is it available? Did a search on el goog and couldn't find anything. Went to miui.us and closest I saw was for the gs3. Anyone? Bueller?
no. not yet. I don't know if anyone is even working on it.

I hate that I forget about that. It seems like it's been out for a while now. That's on other carriers though.
There's always MiHome to keep you sated until the full ROM comes out, in case you weren't aware. Comes with the lockscreen, too.

Thread moved
My upgrade date isn't until January 25th. I'm really hoping some headway is made on this before then. I'm sure a lot of people, myself included would be very inclined to make a nice donation to anybody willing to work on this! The AT&T group seems to have made a TON of progress on this, so maybe some collaboration could be done with them to port a "final" build over once they iron out the kinks?
I ported miui to the sprint galaxy note 2 CDMA and if you guys want to use that as a base to port over I don't mind ..so far everything is working on the build ..you can look at the sprint thread and its miui on stock base with working multi Window n s pen features

Beans told me he's working on it. He has been very busy with his ROM but I told him I would be patient.
cant wait for this
That's awesome. Since I've moved over to Samsung I've been enjoying jb touch wiz and haven't really missed miui. It had that appeal to me because it looked and somewhat performed like ios but now I think tw is far more superior in performance and cosmetics than ios/miui. I'm really liking the one handed operation that tw offers. I'm not sure that miui offers that.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk 2
I cant wait to see MIUI on this badass phone. It seems to have a hell of a lot less problems that the S3 so maybe that means MIUI wont be as difficult to debug. Either way, buggy or not, I cannot wait to see this. And Beans is a freaking AMAZING dev

yes,you can flash
MIUI Home
If you flash the MIUI Home zip will you then have the option of choosing between it and your stock home? Or does something else have to be flashed for that to happen?
I’ve been curious as to why development and rom builds have been so slow to come to the Verizon Galaxy Note II? I look at other carriers and see that they have a more extensive collection of ROMS available and was wondering why?
The reason for thisi is our devs have currently been working out keeping unlocked bootloaders on the latest update for some unfortunate people, And we are just getting started with the roms. FOr the best roms, let the devs work on their own pace.

From past experience, I've had a phone with many roms but most of them had their share of bugs which drove me away. I have used Scott's roms before the note 2 and his attention to detail and simplicity is unsurpassed, we are very fortunate to have him. We also are lucky to have CM builds pumping out as my former device waited over a year for just the beta.

Really most OTA ROMS are not all that different.. Sure some have more options etc.. The real fun comes when AOSP is stable..
We just got official CM nightly's as of yesterday.. While there are a few things to work out with kinks here and there, the real fun has just begun...

It will only improve. Verizon was late to the party with their variant and locked out the bootloader. Nobody is going to develop much on a device with locked bootloader. Also, it is true that devs have been busy helping us noobs.
I didn't think development would even be this fast. This is the best phone on the best carrier, so I assume development will continue. I am sure many people have a GS3 already, so won't be moving to this platform.
Speed up development by donating to a dev.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk 2
Didn't someone just release a mod that a allows cross carrier roms?! Not to mention aosp is finally getting solid. Patience is a virtue, things are taking off.
I personally think the development on this device has been great. Better than I expected really, given the way Verizon tried to chase away users from this device with stupid things like the branding on the home button. At the end of the day I'm just happy with what we have. Could have been a lot worse without Adam.
If your that bored flash some N7105 base roms. Just don't derp and flash the radios for the other carriers. I am running SkyNote right now.

I think one of the reason why is lack of stock functionality. The varieties of AOKP, Baked, CM, AOSP, Miui roms have been extremely popular and successful on other Google devices(varieties of these roms account for more than 50% of entire roms), but apparently not many people demand those roms on Galaxy Note2 because of lack of stock functionality...such as SPen, page buddy, other good motion functions, and etc, etc. I used to be a huge fan of AOKP roms while I was owning Galaxy Nexus, but after switching to GNote2, I never looked back. I wanted more of Samsung experience rather than Google.

Hey everyone, I'm moving from my Galaxy Nexus tomorrow to the Note II. I'm new to the Note II community (obviously) and my purpose in creating this thread was to get a feel for what ROMs people are using. This thread is NOT for bashing any ROMs, and not for arguing.
If you would, please post what ROM you're using, and a reason or two why you like it.
I understand some people are against this kind of thread, I'd just like to get a feel for what aspects' of ROMs people enjoy, since the Note 2 is a unique device.

The two I'm familiar with are cleanrom and beans, cleanrom has the same look as stock with everything cleaned up and a few custom options while beans is stock with aosp theming and more customization. All have their merits... all are good ROMs. I'm on Jedi right now and really liking it, though. But you can't go wrong with any of the four I listed above.

Just wanted to say, gratz! I moved from the GNex to the Note 2 myself, just this week. WOW I love it. I miss the onscreen nav buttons and the branding free front face of the GNex but thats about it. The Note 2 is amazing. The battery life alone... holy cow. My Gnex would require charging by midday and a battery swap in the evening when I got home. LAME.
Anyway enjoy the new phone! I will be interested to see the recommendations as I too need a good first ROM.

I might go for the LMT launcher for that PA pie.... It's a nice feature. There really isnt a need for the nav buttons, I just wish samsung had put the back button on the left side and exchanged the menu button for recents.
I came from the GNex as well. With Beans and Nova Launcher, my phone looks exaclty like my GNex did..only bigger and badder in every way shape and form! :good:
Hey everyone, I'm new here so be gentle. As the title suggests, I am wondering what the physical limitations are that are keeping all the TW features (like air view and gestures) from being implemented in AOSP based roms? I love the "pure" android feel but I also love these features. Thanks for any answers you guys can give.
Tw features require tw framework to work and same thing around with aosp features (halo) to tw, I'm pretty sure someone can even try implementing it but chances are closer to almost impossible as it requires a lot of heavy coding.

So it is technically possible? I understand that it would take a lot of work. I now wonder if any developer would be willing to have a go at it
Many devs wouldn't want to give a go at it it's just too time consuming just to get something ported over, it's technically possible, yes, but just not worth the time.

The GE software will pretty much allow you to run TW apps, but as far as features like smart scroll and air view it will likely never happen.

Hmmm. That sucks Thanks for the answers everyone!
The biggest thing is the closed sourced drivers, libs, and jar files on top of the built in framewroks. AOSP stands for open source so you can see where to conflict would be.
