There is no .exe and .pif in android... those definitely don't belongs to android system.
The best is to reformat you sdcard instead of deleting them

Which version are you referring to ???

" Shooter on Deck "
Just grab the apk, make sure you are using a deodexed or odexed per the rom you are using. Then copy the apk to your system/app folder, then change permissions to match the other apps in the system folder then reboot. You should be good to go. Or if you are familiar with adb then do this:
adb remount
adb push Vending.apk /system/app
Once you do that you should be good to go.

Just go to System/Apps and Delete the Current Vending.apk, and Replace it with whatever version you want, and Change the Permissions! Also although you really Don't have to... But you might want to Clear the Data/Cache in Settings/Applications/ManageAPPS!
moving over the modified APK file into the system/app/ folder and getting an error, just flashed CM10 on s-on, and wallet in market will not work, so i downloaded the modified .apk and getting this. here is a screenshot. please help dont know what or where i went wrong.
When do you get the error? When you actually move it, or when running the app after moving it?

when i go to paste it into the folder........ hmmmmm maybe i figured it out.... does astro have root permission? maybe that is my problem. ill try a different file explorer and post my findings in a moment. ty
nope still not letting me do it, this one just tells me operation failed
Use root explorer from market. You have to remount the system partition as read/ write before moving, as it is mounted read only by default.

Hey guys, I have an unrooted Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket on AT&T and I really want to get Google Now on it without rooting. I was looking around online and I found a video in which the guy manages to install it using only apks. Yes, he was rooted, but the only reasons I could see that it needed root was to edit build.prop and to edit the system apks. So I thought, well, couldn't I just do that on my computer? I was thinking that maybe if I plugged my phone in via USB, got build.prop off the system folder, edited it, then edited the system files, but the new build.prop on, installed the apk I would have Google Now! I'm pretty sure this won't work, but I'm curious why.
You need root to access system folders

So even if you go on PC and via USB browse to system folders, you can't open them?

You can't view system folders on a PC, only using a root browser (to edit), a normal file browser (to view) or adb (to view)

Exactly what I was looking for, thanks.
I did a search and found an HTC EVO flashlight apk. Installed it on the HTC ONE but the 3 brightness setting doesn't work.
Does anyone have the HTC ONE stock flashlight APK?
My phone is bootloader unlocked, rooted, and running on stock ATT rom. Not considering custom rom at the moment due to some app and software compatibility issues.
Thanks!

Sorry I am total newbie at this. I downloaded the zip file from the dropbox link to my computer. I unzipped it. Inside I see two folders and three individual files but non is with an apk extension.
The two folders are named: Meta-Inf, and Res. The three individual files are AndroidManifest, class.dex, and resources.arsc.
I also tried to put the entire zipfile into my phone's memory and install from there. But since it's a zip I had to open view it with ezfile. Also no luck from there.
Should I just change the zip extension to apk?
Thanks
Just download it on your phone and install

This link will give you all of the apps that were stored in the preload folder before unlocking your bootloader:

can someone plz tell me what this file means or does! I foundd it on my system folder on a folder named addon.d and that's is the only file I found there..the original file is named like this "70-gapps.sh" ....my device is a polaroid tablet pmid705 some people saying that polaroids tablets are pre rooted but mines ain't....I just need to know what is this file is and what it does?
This will read the google apps files lole the play store, gmail etc. As you can see it reads a lot of apks and triggers a lot of libs. Do not remove it.
