Okay, so basically I flashed one too many things without a wipe and I got stuck in a bootloop. I couldn't access recovery since I don't have a working home button. I then bought a USB jig which lets me get into download mode where I flashed a stock rom in odin. I'm still stuck in a the bootloop, can anyone help me? Is there a way of wiping cache etc from download mode, any help is greatly appreciated! Cheers

No I broke my home button a few months ago - it's a hardware problem. I flashed a stock rom but still has a bootloop, it justs stays stuck on the glowing s....
Edit: Still stuck in bootloop
If you can get download you will be ok you just have to find the right ROM I have seen a couple of post on RR thread both with same boot loop they worked out OK
If you can't find it I'll post link what ROM caused boot loop

Your problem is you flashed files for the wrong phone. These are the forums for the samsung galaxy s vibrant (t959). You need the forums for the samsung galaxy s 4g (t959v). They are two totally different phones and are not compatible.

I flashed the stock firmware of galaxy s2 and went into a bootlop, the solution to get the galaxy s2 alive was to factory reset and clear cache with stock recovery. The question is why do I get into bootlop, because I have forgot to turn on debugging or because I did not do a full wipe with cmw before flashing firmware with odin? I flashed from Rom with android 4.0.4 to stock android 4.0.3

Yeah, because you did not do full wipe in CWM recovery before flashing via Odin.

By the "telus variant", do you happen to mean the SGH-T989D? (check the label under your battery for model number)
If the device model is indeed the SGH-T989D, you should to to that device forum, which is located at http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1329.
This post is currently in the forum for the GT-I9100, which is a different phone than the SGH-T989D.
Man just do a factory reset... Wipe data and you should be good to go
