Hi All,
I'm pretty sure this topic has been posted up before, but open ended threads usually closed with no definite answers.
I've got the TF201, and quite simply want to use bluetooth (hands free) headset on Skype.
Going into a fair few forums, this is quite a frustration and disappointment that it works on ipads, phones and windows.
But I've tried this on Nexus 7 and TF201 of which are using JB, and even used a modded skype to make the bluebooth work, which it doesnt.
Anyone else have this issue or know a solution to this?
Ive bought :
officeworks com au/retail/products/Technology/Phones/Mobile-Phones/Bluetooth-Accessories/PL8813009
and
laser bluetooth headset
which both doesnt work on skype.
Thanks in advance!

Jepp, having troubles too. Can pair with my HTC desire and my netbook, but connecting isn't possible. On my netbook there are no BT services showing up for the Archos, which is the reason a connection fails.
i was finally able to get my archos to see and pair with my headphones but it will still not let audio stream. so it will not fully connect, it says unable to pair with this device. this is a problem with archos because these headphones have paired with a dozen other devices no problem.
I've had problems getting my WiiMotes to connect. I have gotten them to connect twice - each time it was after a firmware flash. Once I d/c them I cannot get them to connect again.
Real bummer - wanted to play some SNES...
Yes, many ppl have had serious issues trying to connect an Archos Gen8 to their phones. So far, Droids seem to be the most "connectable" with the Archos. My rooted Moto Cliq with tethering enabled has never been able to connect no matter what I try (bluetooth or WiFi).
My only hope is that when the A70 gets rooted, there will be a custom firmware that actually makes tethering work properly. I'm fairly certain that it's a problem with Archos' software.
Nokia's seem to be connecting also through BT. I've read people with oldies like mine (E71, E72, E63, 5800s, etc.) that can teether and connect without problems. Haven't tried a headset yet though.
i have the samsung note AT&T with ICS 4.0.3 and i cannot answer my calls from the MOTOACTV or return calls from it. the call back button is grey out i can't press it to received calls or to call back. i also have the motorola sf600 bluetooth , i can see the call on the device but i can't answer from it i have to use the button on the bluetooth to answer my calls.
I have a MOTOACTV and did some testing last night using my Note and my Motorola Atrix.
I have a bluetooth headset, and after connecting it I could not answer calls using the MOTOACTV with EITHER phone. I then connected a wired headset and was able to answer calls using the MOTOACTV, but only on the Atrix, not on the Note.
Just curious--did you install the hacked app before Moto released the new app that is supposed to work on any phone?
I tried it with my Gnote and I coulldnt get ANY notifications from the phone at all. And yes its connected. I have tried both the modified version and the newest version of the motoactv app. I also clicked yes and no when deciding what phone I have. ie with motorola phone ver2.1+.
My motoactv is rooted with Cleardroid 1.1.2A rom. Firmware version is 1.1.6. Any help to even get the SMS notification would be greatly appreciated.
Updated: Turns out Handscent SMS is not supported. Now I can see notifications, calling and text. However I cannot answer through the motoactv. I dont even know if i can do that...Any answer would help.
i have since returned my to bestbuy
i don't think it's possible to get all the fuctions working if you don't have a motorola phone. i gave up i went and got all my money back from them. **** this, i'll wait for samsung to come out with one that does with everything or at lease works with samsung phones.i'm not about to buy a motorola phone just to get this thing to work lol.
I have been using the Sony Smartwatch for the last week on the note and been working great! love it! havent charged it in 5 days!
yep the Sony watch looks nice but it is really a different device than the Motoactv.
Primarily the Motoactv has a GPS. I the Moto for golf, marathon training and bicycling. It has wifi auto connectivity and upload and auto sensor connections to Heartrate monitor, bicycle cadence, etc.
It does have a few software issues such as interval training, short battery life, and i can't get it to work at all via bluetooth with my Note. IT connects but that's it...no messages, etc. LUCKILY the problem areas aren't of interest to me but I can see where it is frustrating for those who do need those features.
For my activities...golf, running, bicycling...it's awesome. Was the gorilla glass since it can break...just like smartphones.
where did you get from ?

Have you tried using the earphones that came with the device? (ie. sf200)
Also try this: Go to bluetooth settings on the Note and click on the Motoactv. It should say something like "Connected to phone audio" under the device name. That's how I got my wired earphones to work. For some reason it doesn't automatically connect.
Haven't tried it with a bluetooth headset though.
Sorry for posting here. Old thread, but I think this is going to help.
Tried this with My S3 and my motoactv and worked well. You have to sync your headset to your motoactv AND your gnote.
bit . ly / OaSFJQ (put it together, cant post links 'cause im a newbie)
Not what I wanted but It works and I can answer calls right from the Headset (i'm using a jaybird freedom btw)
hope it helps!!
:good:

Hi everyone!
I just bought an xperia s and tried to pair it with my car (Columbus system)... for my surprise I got a msg saying that the phone is not compatible. I called the garage and they said that it's because the phone does not support rSAP.
Apparently Sony is are aware that this problem is impacting owners of all sorts of cars with Premium Audio Systems ranging from Mercedes, Audi, VW, Skoda, BMW and even Porsche...
I've asked them for support but they said that there's nothing that they can do, for the moment.
I've googled a bit and there seems to be a lot of questions about this subject but not a lot of answers for this particular phone.
Anyone else having the same problem?
Is there anyway around this problem?
Thanks!

Perhaps I should have posted on dev section?!
It seems that only HTC and Samsung, at the moment, support the rSAP app
Hi all,
Just recieved my Acer A1-810 today. So far I think its really good. Well until I tried to tether it to my phone using bluetooth. My nexus 7 works fines with the same mobile phone. The problem is when I go into the settings for the paired bluetooth device on the A1 there are only rename and unpair options. Its missing a section called profiles with a option called "internet connection" as seen in the attached picture. The A1 does not have this option.
I've also noticed I can only pair the devices if I enable discovery on the mobile and pair from the A1. The other way round just causes a commincation error on the phone. Nothing happens on the A1.
Ive tried unparing and even a different phone. Everything works on my nexus 7.
The phones i've tried it on are a HTC Sensation and a Nexus 4.
NOTE: I cant use Wifi Tethering as the wifi hotspots are not allowed at work.
Any idea's anyone

Hi.
I sent back my first Xperia Tablet Z because the microphone was extremely quiet in Skype and voice recording apps and all sorts. I had to speak directly into the top of the device to be heard. The 4.2 update from Sony improves matters, but pretty much just seems to up the gain. Quality still isn't great, but it is at least usable.
I got a replacement and it has exactly the same problem.
Can anyone with this tablet who's running either Sony's 4.1 software or any AOSP-based ROM (Cyanogenmod and the like) please test the microphone for me? It's very noticeable on anything besides Sony's 4.2, which seems to compensate somewhat.
You don't need to make me a recording or anything, just tell me if you can hear yourself if you do a Skype test call or quick voice recording or something (ideally when speaking at the front of the tablet as if you were on a video call, not speaking into the microphone on top). If your tablet is like mine, you will also hear some loud noises whenever you shift your grip.
Basically I'm trying to ascertain once and for all whether this is an isolated issue to the two tablets I've had, or whether the microphone is just a bit terrible on all of them. This'll determine whether I give Sony another chance to replace it or give up and get myself a Nexus 10.
Also let me know if you have an SGP321 or SGP31x. Mine's the latter.
Any replies and assistance very much appreciated. I put in a poll so we can get some quick results but I'd prefer thread replies and maybe we can get a bit of a useful discussion going.
Thanks.

It depends; with the voice recorder and Skype application it hardly seems to pick up any of my voice. But I never have problems with Google Voice search picking up my voice and I downloaded an audio spectrum analyzer tool that seems to show me that the microphone is getting good response.
Same problem here. The microphone barely registers any sound at all. Can't use it with a voice recorder or IPphone app.
Is there a setting or something to increase microphone sensitivity or is that just something Sony users have to live with?
Thanks!
Hmm... Not just me, then.
As far as I can tell, it's something we have to live with. Sony's 4.2.2 update improved matters somewhat, but the quality still sucks and you can forget Skype on AOSP ROMs for the time being.
Oh well. Thanks for voting. I was considering sending my tablet back for a replacement again but if everyone has this problem to some degree then it's not worth it. Weird how the initial reviews of the device praised the microphone though (and that was on 4.1).
I've decided to stick with the tablet for the time being, though. It's just so thin and light and waterproof. Just have to live with Sony's software and a sucky microphone I guess.
