Hi guys, is it worth buying an HTC One if I have the S3 right now? I think the S4 has better specs, but slightly and their software is mainly gimmicks. I just use a few of their features: auto reply messaging when a phone call comes in if I cannot pick up the phone, smart alert, and multiwindows. Can I work with Sense 5 to fill in those voids? I had the Sensation as my last HTC phone. Been with HTC on three phones, the G1, MyTouch 4G, and Sensation (like I said before.) Sense was decent. I like Touchwiz better, but the One just looks great for a phone. Is it that much of difference between other phones cameras despite having a 4 Ultrapixel quality camera with HTC Zoe?
I just gave my Note 2 to my brother and got myself a HTC One with T-Mobile. Totally worth it. The HTC One is the iPhone skin (elegant design) with Android soul inside.

I came from the note 2. Had my wife's s3 fora couple weeks until I got my one. I gave her my note2.
It was totally worth it. I'd buy another. But I got one.

I am sorry, but what about my questions about the features I like from Touchwiz being on Sense?
Sense 5 is really nice. This is the first time I decided not to use nova launch but stock sense on ARHD rom. You won't miss Touchwiz at all. I found it a bit cheesy on the Note 2

Agreed first stock launcher I've used. I don't feel the need for other launchers. I love blink feed. The ZOE feature is underrated. Calls never drop for me. Sound ids amazing from speakers and headphones. Movies look amazing.
What more do you want? Buy the damn thing.

2. Not sure what smart alert is, but I doubt Sense is the same.
3. Multiwindows is a Samsung thing.
I think you can do OK on Sense to do similar things, but not those directly.
Just wait for the Google edition Samsung Galaxy S4 on June 26th.

It's definitely an upgrade from the s3. I miss smart stay though. I wanted something different since I have been with Samsung since before the first galaxy. I have noticed a few things. The camera is not as good and doesn't focus well, people will disagree but if you do some research it's a pretty standard complaint. The Wi-Fi receiver is not as good and I often drop signal (another standard complaint). But other than those issues it's a beautiful phone. I love the design. Blink feed is better than I thought. Sense 5 is outstanding but I'm returning mine for an s4. The camera was something I was excited about but it doesn't quite get there. The Wi-Fi thing is annoying enough to be an issue. If those 2 things are not important to you then it is worth it to make the switch. Sound really is good. HTC backup is the best I've seen. It just depends on what is important to you.

i dont know where you got your info but you probably didnt get the update that fixed the camera and sound recording quality. go to the international forum someone did a test with the s4 and one camera side by side video front and rear. the ones camera is sharper. image stabilization doesnt exist on the s4. i have no issues with wifi and never have.
just so you know im not an htc fanboy this is my first htc device. all other devices ive owned have been samsung and one motorola.

Where did you get the update? Did you flash one of the international or dev builds? I thought that the camera fix build hadn't been pushed in the US.

Good to know that some US phones already have 1.29. I think I got mine about a week ago, but it's 1.27 and I've heard nothing about the 1.29 update forthcoming OTA.
Does Trickdroid affect the camera in any way relative to 1.29 stock?

thats weird because i got mine like 3 weeks ago but yea there have been other updates since 1.29. version is 1.29.401.16r now which is latest to address volume level that was lowered with original 1.29 update
also i have read that within the next month htc will be pushing a 4.2.2 update
I really enjoyed my S3. Thankfully I gave it to my wife when I upgraded to the H1 so I still get to hold it.
The things I miss most are the alarm, quick response texts, and the awesome LED notification light.
I don't regret upgrading at all as the H1 is a much more refined phone. It is much faster, smoother, and sexier. There's a chance I may get some small regrets later when the Motorola X phone, Nexus 5, and Note 3 are released...

I'm not sure exactly what info you are referring to. Most is hands on. And no I did not get the fix since it has not been released yet in the US other than on sprint I believe. Other than rumors there is no definitive time frame on when the official release is supposed to happen.Also you can do a google search for htc one vs galaxy s4 and see for yourself. The s4 camera wins everytime. It does have digital image stabilization, just not optical image stabilization. And it's awesome that you don't have WiFi issues but there are plenty of people who do. I'm just giving the guy an honest comparison. My opinion is based off of my experience and nothing more. I actually read a post about WiFi issues before buying the phone and ignored it and bought it anyway.

I had the nexus 4. Honestly I'm wondering whether it's worth it. The n4 was faster in scrolling Tapatalk and 8 tracks. Two things I've noticed and only been using phone less than 24hours

So after doing more research I came across a fix for the WIFI Issue. For some reason HTC decided to turn WIFI reception down in order to save battery. There is a checkbox in the advanced WIFI settings for "Best WI-FI Performance". I have no idea why they would not default to this setting but it seems to improve WIFI range drastically. Having a slightly lower quality (but still pretty damn good) camera is not enough reason for me to return the phone. I will be keeping my HTC One.

I'm most likely leaving AT&T and coming to Sprint. There are 3 good phones on Sprint and it's really hard to decide which one to get. The Evo 4g LTE, SGS3, or the GN for Jelly Bean. If anyone could give me their opinions on those 3 devices (best roms, mods, etc.) that would be great. The GN is now only $99 on Sprint. Ugh. I hate that I can never make a decision.

I am having a similar issue. Im deciding betwees the s3 and the white evo lte. But I think im going with the evo tomorrow morning. It has better reviews. I have the ps2 for Sprint and the s3 does not seem that much of an upgrade to me.

What did you like of the EVO over the sgs3?
Also I looked on Sprint's coverage map and it shows that I am in "fair" territory. Does that mean I'll have poor signal?
I'm in the same boat. I have been an Android user since Day 1 since Oct 2007. I loved it. But I bought the Samsung Vibrant 2 years ago and was very sure that I would never buy another Samsung phone given their sorry upgrade track record and not releasing source code and binaries for their radios. So i was pretty sure I was going to grab the One X. The EVO LTE looks like the best one since it had a micro SD card and a dedicated camera button. The lack of removable battery is a problem, but after reading the reviews on the battery life, I thought I'd risk it.
But two things happened. Samsung released the same S3 model (bar the CPU for the US market) all over the world and they released the source code almost immediately. They don't have a locked bootloader (I know the HTC allows you to unlock it - bit it breaks the warranty). I hated ODIN initially, but it does make the Samsung phones practically unbrickable and they don't lock the bootloader, so I don't lose the warranty if I root it and install a custom ROM. I can always ODIN it back to stock and get a replacement if something goes wrong with the phone.
I haven't been keeping up with the HTC ROMs anymore so I don't know how it's going these days. I have been using ICS on my Vibrant since December. How long have you guys had an ICS ROM for the original EVO?
What's giving me pause in going for the EVO LTE is
1. Would the custom ROM scene on the EVO LTE be as good as the one on the S3? Given that the S3 is practically the same worldwide and Steve Kondik is now a Samsung employee with access to resources that might help CM10?
2. The reports of the multi-tasking on the EVO LTE are worrying. If the reason that the battery life is decent on the One X is because it's aggressively dropping background processes, that's not what I want. If I wanted crippled multi-tasking, I'd have bought an iPhone. How's the multi-tasking? If you load a game in the background, a browser loading a page in the background and switch to the email app, is it responsive? If you go back to the browser, does it start loading the page again? Or has it finished loading the page? I use planetandroid.com as my test case since it gives even Firefox on the desktop a problem (although Chrome on the desktop doesn't have any issues with it).
3. I read that it's because Sense is so resource hungry, they traded the multi-tasking to keep it in memory, but I see that that still doesn't work and Sense does keep getting swapped out and has to restart when exiting email or the browser or some big game. I guess the extra 1 GB on the S3 helps. I have read some comparisons that the S3 is smoother multitasking than the EVO LTE.

After the updates sense no longer reloads, for me anyway. Multitasking aside, the One X has had the best battery life on any phone I've ever had by far. Android or iPhone. I love the One X that's why this is so hard for me to decide. The white Evo LTE looks sick. I'm also starting to like the customization of the sgs3 the more reviews I watch of it.
I just got 3 hours of screen on time on my One X before it got to 50%. By far my best yet.

I bought the nexus and it was amazing with vanilla ics roms were pretty awesome too, the curve to your hand made it by far the best hand held experience of any phone the only down side to it had sub par battery life I had to carry 2 batteries
I now have bought an EVO LTE and its nice but I think cause of the non curve it feels like a mini tablet atleast to me , but holy carp is it fast and snappy , and super bright, I did like a whole lot better on the nexus was swiping left to right to close out the task menu , sense made it so you can only go up to close them out wich Is slow and they didn't add the feature in the browser like the nexus did

If you go with the S3 u will be happy, after I had it for a couple of days all the extra customization of the S3 seemed trivial.and gimmicky, it was cool at first especially the gestures... But I ended up not using them at all. Yes I think the S3 is smoother than the EVO, but not by much. I hated the physical home button, it had way too much lag, and that's even with the S-voice turned off. You don't get full use of the home screen realestate on the stock UX, which was annoying. Those where my only complaints. My past three phones have been sammys, that's another reason I chose the HTC, I just wanted a change, and the build quality(external) and feel of an HTC phone in my opinion is far superior to Samsung. In the end don't beat yourself up with the desicion you will be extremely happy with either phone. Oh and I made the switch to sprint from ATT due to ATT raping me on data charges... Now I have to sacrafice service, but its worth the trade off.

With the Evo having source out now do you think it will get jb fairly quick? Same question for sgs3.
Also my One X gets pretty hot and I don't know if it's the battery causing it. I would love to be able to change out the battery. I miss that option.

I have "fair" coverage and I needed to get an Airave because I had zero or one bar everywhere in my house and couldn't have a conversation with anyone. Luckily, they gave me an Airave for free so now I have five or six bars everywhere in my house.

the NV upgrades near me have been brutal, tons of dropped calls, especially while on the move, but even still while sitting at home. I would also check the NV upgrade schedule to see if they are even coming to your area any time soon...I agree though, wait on sprint until NV is up and running in your area.
The S3 is indeed almost identical as the international version, with the exception that it uses the S4 krait like the ones in the Evo LTE, putting it in the same situation as the LTE and the One X. The One X's community looks to be pretty active, but with a different processor than ours, the roms are not exactly interchangable, so i would expect the same issue to be present for the LTE-specced S3s.
If you're talking about development though then the multitasking and sense issues shouldn't be a problem unless you actually like sense, in which case all i have to say is you're boned .
I chose the Evo because I like how solid aluminum bodied phones feel, and I have never liked the oversaturation that is present on every amoled-based screen that i've looked at. I held off upgrading from my OG Evo because when i held the SGS2 and then the Gnex, they both felt flimsy and cheap in my hands compared to my Evo. I'm sure that they're probably all equally fragile when dropped, but for something where i'm holding it any time i'm going to use it, the feel was very important to me, so i would say it mostly comes down to personal preference, like Mitsu Evo vs Subaru STi, or Cameros vs Mustangs, test drive them both and see which one you'd like best.

Yes. The same issue would be present for the S3 if the CPU is the only change. But I expect that the S3 would be probably be a well supported phone since it would sell so many and many devs would have it. I have been out of the HTC scene for a couple of years so don't know if the EVO has had good custom ROM support. eg. I have been running ICS since Dec/Jan on my Vibrant.

Sorry, what does "you're boned" mean? I'm an idiot for liking Sense, or if i use Sense, then the multitasking is a problem? I like the stock Google UI using Nova Launcher. But I haven't seen any definitive answer on whether using Nova Launcher alleviates the multi-tasking problem. If it does, then I'd be okay with not using Sense, although I do like some Sense widgets. But I can live with out them.

I have got used to the "flimsy" Samsung phones. I like the lightweight feel of them and they are surprisingly resilient. Check out the CNet's torture test for the S3. http://cnettv.cnet.com/8301-33814_53-57468819-10391737.html It's intense.

The S3 is definitely well supported and got a CM10 preview release this morning. The sprint variant has great devs lurking in the background so there's still lots of good stuff to see released.

Hey everyone. I know this has been beaten to death but I'm having hard time making a decision.
I have had an AT&T HTC One for the past week or so. I'm very happy with the phone and have had really no issues. I'm running 4.2.2 in it and am happy. Problem is I am seriously considering switching to the s4.
There are some features the s4 offers that I really like. (multi-view, flip to ignore, etc.)
I had One X switched to the s3 then to an iphone 5 but missed android so came back and got the HTC One. Like I said I like the one. The button layout doesn't bother me although I do like the physical home button on the S. The speakers are awesome and the screen is very nice.
I just don't know what to do. I still have time to swap it for an S before my 14 days expire but don't want to regret switching.

In the same boat...I've actually got an S4 and a One right now, (the S4 goes to the wife at the end of the week) and I just can't decide if I like the S4 over the One. Both phones are fantastic, but the S4 has a few significant advantages to me that make me want to switch, but the One has other items that make me want to stay. I've got until Friday and it is just driving me nuts.
Here are my deciding factors, just in case they might help you out.

No regrets so far. Actually really liking the S4 so far. The stock keyboard seems much easier to type one compared to the one for me. Liking some of the features a lot, especially multi-view. Screen is nice. I got the 32 gig version and have a 64 gig SD card in as well so plenty of storage.

I spent 2 weeks going back and forth between the 2 phones and I'm a rep for AT&T, so I got to play with them both all day. I even had the One as my work phone for a week (not allowed to root work phone). I finally made my choice to make the HTC one my personal phone based on these reasons:
1) This is the main reason, I want my top of the line phone to be snappy and as fast as the specs say it should be. The S4 has horrible lag. Now when i say this, I'm the type of person that notices the small things. But I actually felt at times that the S4 got "stuck" on things (like switching from portrait to landscape) more so than my S3.
2) Media: Can't beat the speakers. And as for the camera, sure zooming in isnt as good as the S4 BUT the pictures are a lot less blurry on moving targets. I have kids and they move. What's the point in 13 MP if I can't see their faces? I hear the S4 is better to watch videos on screen wise. I didn't notice much difference. But having the speakers face me on the One was a plus.
3) The novelty on the S4 features, like eye scroll, wore off fast. Not only that, I had to turn then off to help the phone stop lagging. After a while, I honestly felt that all I was holding was an S3 with a better screen.
3.5) Sense 5 has a different keyboard and browser from the previous versions. Not only did it feel much different from my older HTCs, but for the first time I found myself using the STOCK keyboard and browser.
4) Screen Burn in. Just Google screen burn in on S4. And seeing all the super AMOLED screens have words burn in them from being on the AT&T display wall turned me off.
5) Development community: this sealed it for me. The hardware on the One is the same in the US as it is internationally. That means more development options. Also, there were a few trolls who owned S4s (especially on the AT&T side) who were really annoying and immature. The HTC One community, both US and International are awesome. Great people here.
Now I'm not bashing the S4, and if it seems like I'm nitpicking, that's because I am. Like I said, it took me 2 weeks of constant comparing to come to these conclusions. And at the end of it all, I felt like it was the HTC One, not the S4, that I couldn't bare the thought of not having.

I was an iPhone user since the iPhone 3G. I finally switched to Android with the One. Used it for about a week and loved it but saw all those S4 features and thought that's the phone. I jumped and switched and thought it is going to be great. After using the S4 for about two days I knew exactly why I didn't like Androids. It lags, the features are gimmicky and drain the battery. They don't work with all applications either.
Long story long, I switched back to HTC One and haven't had to modify or root this one because this phone is fast and responsive as it is. (I did root and install and subsequently uninstall bunch of mods)
Almost all benchmarks will tell you that S4 is faster, but unfortunstely the real world usage will reveal otherwise. I did feel that's the S4 was easier and lighter to hold.
I personally think that HTC One beats iPhone 5 (using mine as iPod now) but S4 doesn't hold a candle to either.

One or S4 are two excellent mobilephone, i aslo want to own .but my salary could afford , so i just choose One. if you really like S4, you could buy it.

I'll quote myself to say that after the 14 days, I still really don't have a good answer to this dilema but the HTC One and Beats pill speaker for $99 sealed it for me. I like both phones A LOT, but the slight sluggishness on the S4 is what ultimately swayed me towards the one, even before I saw the link for the deal.
I'm wanting to switch back to the HTC One. Why did you guys choose the One over the SGS4???

I fell in love with the One the instant I saw one. I came from the sgs 3 and the 4 was just more of the same.
Because the GS4 is laggier than the S2. And flashing roms and doing things that require LOKI was aggravating. Sense is soooo much better than touchwiz. Boomsound.
I could keep going but your just going to have to trust me. The HTC ONE is so much better of a phone.
Camera, Zoes and Highlights. Taking photos/vids of my daughter and sharing them is actually fun. The awesome screen, speakers and build are just icing on the camera cake.
It's prettier.
I went to Best Buy planning on getting the GS4. Played with it for a good 10 minutes. Felt laggy, screen was really dim, internal memory was low, although it was light and had minimum bezel...I didn't like the design patterns. So I decided to look at the HTC One...felt smooth and really responsive. The front speakers were amazing (boom sound). Camera took faster snapshots than the s4. Internal memory was all there. The build quality and design pretty much won me over. I was really surprised because I walked into the store ready to pickup the S4 but ended up walking out with the ONE.

The galaxy s4 was rushed out, it is pre-production quality right now until they get some updates rolled out. Not to mention the cat and mouse bootloader games... if I wanted to deal with that I would stick exclusively to an iPhone
More of the same with GS4
I've had a GS3 since July of last year and while I loved the phone, I couldn't justify upgrading to a GS4 cause it was just more of the same thing.. The HTC One is my first HTC phone and in my opinion, it's the perfect phone.. Storage is not an issue and it just became a problem on the GS3 as the phone would not store anything on the sd card unless I myself placed it in there..
The S4 and the One are almost a tossup in my opinion (anybody would be almost equally satisfied with either one). I went with the one because:
1.) All I care about is the "Google Edition" I'll have it on my phone as soon as its available HTC Seemed to provide the least problems here, with their unlock capabilities/HTCDev and what not.
2.) After you take away all the features you'll potentially lose in AOSP, I still have front stereo speakers and aluminum body on the One - but on the S4 I'd lose most of the selling points.
3.) Little fragmentation between carriers/international/dev editions. (Easier for others and myself to support a wider range of devices in any development efforts)
Things I miss about the S4
1.) Wireless charging capabilities (with purchase)
2.) Better button layout
Things others probably miss about the S4
1.) Battery life (not a problem here, the one makes it through the day for me - I also have plenty of opportunities to plug it in during the day if need be)
2.) Camera (I rarely use the camera on my devices)
This is from a app developer's perspective - also someone who enjoys making kernel modifications for android/desktop devices

Well I've always had HTC phones since my T-Mobile dash (HTC Excalibur) and I was very tempted on the s4 to be my very first non HTC smart phone but couldn't get over the styling of it. The one just looks so much better and speakers up front are a no brainer makes so much sense versus cupping your hand behind the phone to hear it... My girlfriend got a gs4 tho and it is noticeably slower... Not always but once in a while you hit menu and it takes a few seconds longer to where you think you missed the button or you hit a link and go to hit it again just as the page changes and you hit something on the next page etc.... When I use my One all day and grab her phone for something it's very noticeable. I like all her ui customizations but it seems like HTC went with a more refined bug free ui with options coming in an update where as Samsung sacrificed quality for features at launch. Both great phones tho for sure.
I had the s4 and it was super laggy before the update but was fixed with the ota. It also lacked any luster and just felt super cheap! The HTC is awesome performs well and has a great stock keyboard. Boom sound is awesome and the LCD screen on the one puts the gs4 to shame!!! The only thing I found to be better on the gs4 was battery life but it wasn't by much and not enough to convince me to keep it.

The lag was most definitely NOT fixed by the OTA. While slightly better, it still permeates the experience. I should know. I occasionally pop my sim back in and use it until it pisses me off and drives me back to the One.
I do NOT have a lot of widgets or applications running in the background. But I noticed that the RAM dips down below 300mb and when it does, it starts to run even worse. Compared to the One and the LG Optimus G Pro, neither of which lag at all regardless of how low the RAM gets.
Yes there is definitely lag after the ota update. I still believe it is a software issue. But I don't have to worry about it because my One runs super smooth!

Was looking since Amazon has the HTC One for .01 today, if it was worth it to purchase, I have a GS4 now, but thinking about selling it since I'm bored with it... the HTC One looked nice, just curious if Dev's and such disappeared or what happened =/
I think it's nice. I have them both. The gs4 and One. You can tinker around with the phone and turn it into a stock Google play edition. I still think the sense ui is the best though.

Oh so your not stuck with att HTC one builds that's a plus I know how to build so its not a big deal just trying to figure if I want to make the switch to the HTC one or sg4(which I have) on a diff carrier
Yea you can flash from both threads. Only problem I've seen is you need to be soff to flash the newer gpe builds. Which is really easy to do with rumrunner.

I had to make this choice as well. I ended up trading my ATT Galaxy S4 for my HTC One, and I have no regrets about it. There isn't as much crap bloatware, since HTC really only added a few features to Android. Other than ATT's crap (which is easily gotten rid of) it's a pretty clean OS.
It's got an unlockable bootloader, unlike the ATT S4, so if custom ROMs are your thing, this phone is much better.
As a musician, music quality was important to me. The speaker literally made my jaw drop the first time I heard them. they aren't as good as a set of quality headphones,obviously, and I didn't expect that much. What I really didn't expect was the quality of the speakers and just how good they were. They sound better than those cheap 5 or 10 dollar headphones you can buy anywhere.
Sense UI, as I mentioned, is simple and easy. I personally have really enjoyed Blinkfeed. Zoe is great for pictures.
However, the camera on the S4 is superior in most aspects. I mean, it's 13 MP vs 4 MP (Ultrapixel). The HTC One's isnt BAD, but it isn't great either. It does very well in low light, though. I've taken several pictures of church services (we use a lot of lights and stuff like that) and they come out better on my HTC One than they did on my S4.
The Galaxy is also better in the battery life area. The 2600 mah battery on the S4 beats out the 2300 mah on the HTC One. This can be dealth with though, as I simply put my HTC One in power saver mode, which lowers the clock speed, dims the screen a bit, and tweaks a couple other things,and with regular use(probably 5 or 6 phone calls, texting all day, some gaming, and 2 or 3 hours on the internet) I still go to bed with about 30-40% battery every night.
So, if you want a simpler phone, and one that can be more easily customized and is better for multimedia consumption, I'd say the HTC One is your phone. If you're looking for a phone with features upon features (with a freaking 9GB system file partition) then stay with your S4.
Personally, I definitely love my HTC One way more than I ever did my S4
Running Omni 4.4 Kit Kat on HTC One and I would definitely recommend it and say it is worth it.
I agree with what everyone else has said. It is definitely worth it, and there is a lot of active development.

I have only owned HTC phones since day one, my girlfriend has always had to have the Samsung S Whatever. I have played with both and can tell you that you will never regret buying the ONE. It's superior and looks like a man's phone. The S4 is good but the UI is full of smiley faces and bubbles. If you get a S4 you must change the Rom or get a purse to keep it in.

I got my HTC One 6 months ago (Black) and love this phone. The performance is blazing fast and keeps surprising me everyday, guess that's why i am not bored with it. Go for it, get a great rom and you will have fun.

It is for me since my SGS II died a week ago and I need a replacement now. I just ordered the black one from Amazon today. For $30 +tax, it's a good deal. I just hope I won't be disappointed with the camera. I considered the Moto X, but the unlocking restrictions on AT&T turned me off to it (and the 16GB limit).
Yes I have an M8 and I don't see why everyone is giving the M9 such a hard time. Yes it looks the same but really no different than an "S" release by apple. Camera and specs nice upgrade and since I don't us a case two-tone color for me. Also one year of free insurance minus loss/theft is a great deal. I also hope the radio is a little better since sprint LTE signal strength isn't the best.
I'm getting 2! Both myself and wifey. We came from M8s and want the better camera and bigger battery. Love that HTC didn't have an extreme change in design... They nailed it with the ONE series.
Coming from an M7 that's on the last legs of Dev support (at least according to BadBoyz) and this will be a significant upgrade IMO. If I had an M8 I might not jump, but ANY improvement to the camera on the M7 is enough for me and there's no way in hell I'd switch to Samsung.
I know the review say the camera isn't that great, but for crying out loud, it's a phone. I don't print 11x14 photos to frame from my camera. It's for posting to FB, Instagram, etc. I thank HTC for not abandoning the SD support too.
I'm coming from the M7 too. I think all the harsh reviews might be Sense related versus the hardware. There has not been a single mention of trying a different camera app or tweaking the settings.
I get that most on XDA are power users, and I think that the reviews are tailored to the "masses" with the software that comes from the factory.
Funny thing about the UltraPixel camera is that my wife always makes me take pictures with my M7 versus her Note 3. It takes better pictures BY FAR. I am on CM11 using google camera app so that may have something to do with it.
I was on the fence with either the M9 or the Nexus 6. Better front speakers, IR blaster, and real FM radio were the determining factors to get the M9 over the Nexus. I am patient and can wait for nighties to hit the M9. Also I don't think I am a phablet kinda guy.
Anyways, I ordered the gold/silver one and can't wait for it to arrive.
I'm on it now and love it I'm pretty sure u all will too. I came from M8

This is the sprint forum. Either way the sprint one can be easy unlocked from the HTC site. I would recommend unlocking as soon as you get the device as it wipes everything.
Well I've had this M9 for several hours now and I'm sure I'll get flamed for this, but I'm really not seeing much of a difference from the modified m8 I upgraded from. I'm obviously gonna give it more time, but for the price so far it's really not looking like it's worth it. I might end up taking advantage of sprint's 14 day return policy.
Once Venom ROMS are up and running smoothly, I'll switch to the M9, (currently the M8).

I still haven't activated mine yet sitting in the box. I won't return it as I like having the latest model but at the same time I'm not a fan of S-ON or xposed not working or at least all the way yet since 64 bit devices.
Haven't decided if I want to change things up a bit and play with the Nexus 6, or go with the M9. I have an M7. It's still fine for me. A larger screen would be nice.
