Semi-working? Could you elaborate, please? Thanks!
I can't confirm it. We have a Wi-Fi in school that offers both 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz. I can't see the 5 Ghz Wi-Fi there, so...

This seems to be the correct answer, I managed to get to a WiFi 2.4/5GHz AP last night and it definitely did not see it when it was in 5GHz mode, whereas 2.4 worked fine.
A bit dissapointing, given that the Galaxy S3 Mini is a similarly-targeted device and does have 5GHz support.

Is the HTC rezound have svdo

The rezound has two EVDO radios like the Thunderbolt due to the LTE chip. I have not had a call while using data over 3g yet though.

I just tried it and the data works just fine over 3g only during a phone call.

Thanks for this info. This might be enough to sway me to get this instead of the Nexus.
Got mine today and can confirm it works just like my Thunderbolt. I don't understand why only HTC is smart enough to put this in their phones.

Has anyone done this or is it even possible? I've tried using the Wifi tether app, Foxfi and Open Garden but no luck at all. I have a Trendnet gaming adapter N wireless. The wifi device does not connect to my phone no matter what I try to do, it shows on the PC setup showing my phone but no luck. Only Open Garden was able to detect it but no data was pass to the adapter. Im rooted running the Adreneline CM9 rom. I have no trouble connecting other devices to my phone as a Wifi Hotspot. Reasons for the adapter, have some devices that have slow wifi cards (PS3 is my main reason) so this should speed things up gradually.
Any help would be appreciate it. Had no luck in Googling unless I did something wrong.
Make sure you have your device profile set to rezound make sure your set up.as master in set up method and you checked routing fix

Did all that and no go. The WiFi tether app is not showing the adapter at all. Dont understand why not.
fHas anyone done this before? Every other wifi device is able to connect with no problems but the wifi adapters don't seem to connect to it. Tried two different one's and no luck.
Are you sure you are using infrastructure mode?
Edit: nevermind. It was already asked.

I use a Linksys Wireless-B adapter regularly. I have it plugged into my WAN port on my house router, let's me run all the devices in the house over one connection. I have plugged it directly into the Xbox 360 without issue also.
Matter of fact I'm posting this from my PC over it now.

It's old but it works, it's a temp solution til I get my home Internet back on in a week or two.
I just flashed my Sprint Htc Evo 3D to Cricket Wireless and now my data speeds are 15klbs downloading and 8klbs uploading.I am running OTA ICS Rooted and unlocked.I have changed my proxys under the Http settings in Epst and still no change.I have flashed over 9 phones(This being the first sprint phone)and have never had any trouble like this.If someone could help me i would so greatly appreciate it.I am on the $70 Plan and am no where near my data limit. Thanks everyone who takes the time out to try and help me i wouldnt be worried about it but i use my tethering which is the only source of internet i have for my laptop..I work from home online and im losing money on kind of this.PLEASE anyone that sees this Please if you can take the time out to help me i would be so thankful.Thank you so much.My Question is can anyone please help me figure out how to fix my data speeds?I have called Cricket and everything is good on there end so i know its this phone. Also my wife has a phone on the same line and her data speeds are perfect..
Have you tried updating the radio version or do you have poor signal? I'm on cricket and if I have a not so great signal my data basically comes to a crawl. You also could try *22804 and update the prl ota, you might have the wrong version.

How do i update the Radio???I think my radio version is 1.09.Which came with the ICS OTA update from sprint...At first when i first flashed myphone it wouldnt let me dial *228.I have tried about 9 different PRL's and now finally i can dial *228.But i live exactly 1 Block from the nearest Cricket Wireless tower. Most of the time i have Full Bars at home and its still slow..But i flashed my phone myself and i thought i did something wrong so i paid a flashing service to do it.But then after they did it and it was still slow i reflashed it again. What is your Download speeds?
Yeah thats the exact proxy i am using..What rom are you on?Because i also thought maybe if i flashed a custom rom it wouldnt cause me any more trouble.Because i really like this phone and i want to keep it but im so ready to trash it because of the Data speeds...I talk on my phone maybe 10mins out of a whole day and the rest of the time i use it for internet..

Ok well i am going to give it all another try.Yeah thats the exact guide i used.I am using PRL 35657 so ours is awfully close and i got mine from the *228 programing. So im about to try and reflash and see where i get and i will keep u posted.Thank you so much for offering your help i greatly appreciate it alot.If the reflash doesnt work then im going to find a way to flash another rom but im having problems with getting s off with the wire trick which it isint the wire trick itself its the script saids "Error Booting" and im on Hboot 1.58 which i have have heard is the hardest to get the s off on.I have used HTCDev Unlock Bootloader and have gotten Root but cant get S-Off
Okay, cool. Good luck and I'll be happy to help where I can
Sent from my PG86100 using xda app-developers app
The wire trick is very tricky to get to work, I was in hboot 1.58 when I first bought this phone and I had to have HTC sync and the adb drivers installed in order for that program to find my phone, and if you have any trouble with the timing of the wire trick look it up on you tube, I had to do that lol

I got my speeds up to 562KB/s sometimes they go all the way up to 900 and something KB/s.But my tethering is still running a little slow with downloads and uploads.Do u know what could cause that??
Hmm no idea, I don't use tethering on my phone to be honest so I'm not really sure

Same story, same problem. Using dirty unicorns. Very slow data speed. I had to flash an HTC one v from virgin to cricket and get great data speed. Maybe because the sprint firmware is different and routes data a different way? I am still searching.

I'm trying out the viper3d rom at the moment and data seems to be faster, I think it's just hit and miss with certain roms maybe?

No my sd card is practically empty as is the storage on the device. I don't have internet at my house and salt lake city still doesn't have LTE so its just 3g

Could just be the 3g connection is to slow and it times out. Go get a BigMac and use their wifi
Would it work better if I turned on my hotspot and used my computer or not so much
Sent from my EVO using xda app-developers app
Your hotspot will still only give you 3g, run down to McDonalds or starbucks and use the wifi there
I've noticed similar issues when trying to download large files (like ROM's) over WiFi at home. Not usually an issue but it happens every so often. Never an issue using my laptop, though.

Does anyone else get variable download speeds from the play store? Most of the time I get 3-4 mb/s but sometimes it drops to only 2-300 kb/s...it happens on both my 2.4 ghz and 5 ghz networks (same router). Just curious if that's typical behavior for the play store or if it's my wifi being fickle on aosp.
Sorry to hijack the thread, been wondering for a while but since it's not a huge deal I didn't want to start a new one.

had this issue for months now and all i had to do is change my network mode settings from auto to wcdma or anyother manual choice. since i dont use lte or gsm so my DNA DROID is working very stable on wcdma n not having preparing sim card mess anymore its been a week without error....hope it helps you all.
cheers...
It will happen again, just wait. It's a hardware flaw no software changes are going to stop it.
