MIUI restore

When I flashed CM7, most of my apps from the market were automatically restored, is there a way to do that with the MIUI rom? There is nothing too important, but I always wondered why one rom does it and another doesn't.
You have the flag set in market? or you can use the built in backup/restore program in settings.
what settings are you speaking about. I am on the lastest MIUI build and have gone through all my settings and I can't see any restore settings in the menu. I didn't do a backup from CM7, because I wasn't sure it would work. Is there a program included in CM7 that allows google to fully restore all your apps and settings that is not included in MIUI. I have already flashed so I am not trying to recover anything, but just curious why one rom has it and another doesn't

[Q] Jumping from stock to CyanogenMod with CWM ?

Hi, i've got myself a new SGS2 a month ago (first android phone) and i rooted it with CF-ROOT yesterday.
Im running Android 2.3.3 with KF3 kernel, and my question is if i can try out CyanogenMod by using "Restore" in CWM, and go back to my own stock ROM when i please ? Will all of my settings and apps save when i'll jump back to stock ? i did a backup already (backup of apps and data aswell separately) and wanted to make sure before doing anything. Oh and, when i'll install CyanogenMod, will i be able to restore my apps AND all data (photos, videos, random files) on it ?

Yes it is possible to switch between the stock rom and cyanogen.
That's how I use it.
I have a backup of my stock rom and another with cyanogen on it.
Normally I use the stock rom. After a few new nightlies I make a new backup of my stock rom and restore my cyanogen rom. Then I update cyanogen to see what changed and if it is ready to be used as my daily rom. If it's not I perform a backup of my updated cyanogen and restore my stock rom.
And so on until Cyanogen is good enough.
Things like photos, video, music etc should be fine (which doesn't mean a backup isn't a good idea some people lost their pictures at the beginning.)
You could backup/restore your apps with Titanium Backup. But I wouldn't recommend it. It's better to start from a nice and clean source without old rubbish.

[Q] Question about PACman rom and backuping

Hello guys,
I have a question about that PACman rom from this thread. Currently I have this ParanoidAndroid rom with modified FXP136 kernel. Have I to do a full wipe of my phone to install it? Teoretically this and that are same (4.1) version of rom and I don't really want to delete all apps configs, PA settings, etc.
Or if I have to, there is second question - how can I backup EVERYTHING (except rom of course, CWM backup is not what I want) - this include apps, application configs, wifi settings, last calls, sms (ok, this can be skipped, because I already knew and used SMS Backup And Restore or something like that), even icons, etc from Trebutchet?
Ouh, I would do a nandroid backup and after that:
1. Flash pacman without wiping data, flash the recommend kernel for pacman and see if it boots, if not restore your nandroid backup.
2. Back up your data/apps using titanium backup, maybe titanium could backup trebutchet with all data (+icons), but I'm not sure

If you don't care about the apps that you have installed, and just want to save the PA config then you can use the backup part of paranoid preferences. Then when you install the PAC rom just restore with your PA settings.
Cheers,
Evil.
Thanks for your respond.
I wiped /cache partition and installed this PACman rom. It runs fine without wiping, just Paranoid settings was overwritten, but it's not big problem at all, whole settings of the phone stayed. Next day I'll write if I'll get any problem with this or not (I have to test everything).
By the way, can anyone tell me which apks or just applications are in this PACman rom by default? I want to check if there is everything what should be.

[Q] Transferring game data switching roms??

Hello everyone, I have a Galaxy Note i717 on stock ICS. I have had a custom rom on it before (CM10 nightly) but i reverted back to stock ROM. Well last night i found the Padawon ICS 6.2 ROM. So i downloaded it and put everything on the SD Card. Then went to google play and got a couple app to backup things like titanium backup and SMS backup. I am a frequent Tap Fish and Shipwrecked player so i backed them up in hopes to keep my game data. I also made a backup of current ROM. So i installed the ROM, went to the play store downloaded Titanium and went to restore apps and nothing was there. So i went and downloaded my games and i went back into Titanium backup and still no backups were shown. What did I do wrong? Is there any possible way to keep my game data when i switch roms?

Titanium should back up anything you tell it to on a rooted Phone, if it's not even backed up the app then you're doing something wrong.

Restore apps and data from AOSP rom to stock rom

I just switched from Nexus 5 to Max 2. For Nexus phones and most of AOSP based rom (Lineage, RR), there is an option to restore your previous phone's (or rom's) apps and data when you boot your new phone first time. (Link)Obviously, LE's stock rom does not have this option.
I am fine to install all of my apps manually, but I also would like to have the apps' data restored (like setting, preference). Is there any way to get this option on stock rom? Or Any other method to restore data to new rom? Titanium backup?
