yes. i have not tested the kernel out on that ROM. What you need to do is unpack the boot.img, swap out the existing kernel for the new kernel, pack the boot.img back up, and test it out via fastboot before flashing with the command "fastboot boot insert_img_name_here.img"

I think it has to be a leak or 3.1.10 based rom for the libs, not the one with gingerbread kernel. So you cannot take the miui with old kernel and flash Phoenix kernel. You could also build it from source.
Edit: why is that post more than two weeks old?

Or you can just wait and help testing this guys (aka Hai_Duong and a ghost developer called "santajin") the 3.x kernel under MIUI v5:

cyanogenmod nighty kernel

This is the cyanogenmod kernel compiled from official cm7 nightlies.
I'm running it succesfully on stock gb 2.3.3 (v20h). This is the only kernel which doesn't shut down my phone, while i'm not using it. (blackscreen bug?!)
just the extracted kernel from CM nightly 20:

Looks funny! You just extract it and change it to your name?? ?¿

no he compiled from source
So this can be used as base by devs like Franco or Fserve to build their twaked kernels? Is this what they are waiting for?

I hope they will use as base, but i really think they kinda gave up on our p500
I posted this kernel, for those who don't know how to extract a kernel from ROM, or how to compile a kernel. This is why it's also posted in the general section. This and the stock kernel are the only kernel who don't shut down my phone for no reason while it's not being used. I really don't like that CM7 nightly hasn't support for ha xvid/divx/wmv like the stock rom.
I also used sources of cm kernel and modified it but I guess ta-gb is there so no need of it that's why didn't post it on xda

just the extracted kernel from boot.img and wireless.ko from CM nightly 20.
I guess it's more trusted this way )

[Q] LWW Common kernal for Stock ROM and CM7.2

Is it possible to have a common kernal for CM 7.2 and LLW stock+rooted.
I think rage kernel will work. not sure.
Nope, there is no such kernel, which will work on both stock and CM7.2.
Rage Kernel only works with stock and stock-based ROMs.
It will be better if some one get one-that work on both.. As fresh ROMs come out all have to flash new kernel before installing ROM

Cannot be made, as stock kernel has own requirements and custom ROMs other requirements.

Do I need a custom kernel for CM7.2 or a stock kernel will suffice?

As mentioned above. No, won't work. Use either the FXP kernel that comes with the ROM or use Rage Kernel For FXP. Alternative is kamarush's kernel for MiniCMsandwich.

I am confused, will Krsh Kernel work with CM7.2? I thought Krsh kernel is for stock ROMs only. If Krsh kernel works with CM7.2 then I will try it, because the FXP kernel inside CM7.2 drains my battery very fast.

The stock kernel of RC3 is the same of the 2012-06-10 nightly.
The optimized kernel, however, has the same source of the new kernel we WILL have in the next nightly (I already applied the LCD Patch before it went official).
So, if you get the optimized kernel, you are ahead of the current stock kernel (with the latest bluetooth fix and the LCD Patch)

Kernel with cyanogenmod CM9

Hello, someone help me about this:
The kernel Rage Kernel v3.2 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1398910) is the best option to use with cyanogenmod CM9?
Thanks for everybody.
Rage Kernel is great but I think the best option would be the one that comes with CM9 just due to the the testing.

I am using CM9, currently there is some problem with the CM9 kernel.
So You should use "FXP 127" kernel with CM9, its very stable.

CM-Based ROMs kernel

Do Cyanogenmod Based ROMS use the same kernel as the original CM9 ROM? I wonder. Will, say the Flyme OS which is based on CM9 work on the original cm9 kernel? Or do they have some stuff modified?
It's a noobish question I know :/

When they create a CM-based ROM, what exactly do they change, besides the /app/ and /framework/ directory
Also, when you have a ROM based on say, FXP152. What exactly, does one do to update it to FXP202 or higher?
