Hangouts app google server problems. - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

Hangouts really excites me, especially since sms support is eminent, but i can't get it to work. Before the update was pushed for talk, i unistalled talk to see if i could force update it, it worked, and i downloaded hangouts, cool. But when i went to open it, it told me that it couldn't connect to google. So i thought that maybe it wasnt released on my device yet, so google servers were blocking my requests. So i reinstalled talk, and this afternoon the update came, and now it's doing the same thing. Any suggestions?
Im using Verizon galaxy note 2 running CM10.1

Bizarre Google Sync Issues on DNA

Ever since I got the DNA at launch, all services that rely on communicating/syncing with Google will randomly cease until reboot, but I've only recently started digging into it. I'm currently S-OFF on Viper 1.2.0 with its included 2.04 OTA kernel from Verizon, butI've noticed this across multiple ROMs and 1.15 based kernels since stock. Like many others, I always had the "Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly" error for my Google account. I had a thread up here, but with no response.
So far, all my thorough testing has been done only on Viper 1.2.0, and as a baseline, my initial flash of the ROM started with a full desense, and removing nearly all preloaded apps through aroma (including most of HTC's).
Basically, I ended up noticing that upon successful receipt of a calendar notification, my connection to Google would immediately drop, which seemed odd. Many fresh installs of Viper later, I noticed that keeping HTC Browser, Mail, Tasks, and Google Talk installed in aroma got rid of the sync error message (which was the first time since I bought the phone that I did NOT see it), while still able to do a full desense and remove most apps. With the error message gone, I have been unable to reproduce my issue anymore, but it hasn't been up and running long enough like this for me to call it solved.
I have been unable to find a fix while on pure stock or using any other 1.15 based kernel/ROM combo, even with all HTC and Google apps installed. It seems that the 2.04 OTA did something that helped this issue. I wanted to know if anyone else has noticed these or similar issues, and if so, hopefully we can figure it out, as I'd like to be able to get rid of these apps I don't use.
If you have a DNA with a Google account, please vote whether or not you have issues!
i've been having sync issues as well. any contact i add on the phone doesn't sync up to my google account. if i add it from the pc, it'll sync. also, the sync icon just stays there next to Contacts in the accounts & sync section.
i was trying to research it as well, and somebody else mentioned sync issues with their htc device. maybe its an htc issue? i don't know. definitely an annoyance though

I'm looking for a complete drop in communication to Google. However, from my research, I saw a few others with similar issues (only with contacts) who had a high success rate simply by going to Settings>Apps>All>Contacts Storage and press Clear Data. Once it resyncs, it should be fine. Worth a try if you haven't already.
I've tried that, but to no avail. Funny how Google sync has an issue on ANDROID! Lol

When you added those apps back in, did you try only keeping Google Talk? I have had sync issues before when I try uninstaling Talk, as well as being unable to use the Play Store. I was getting a message about "you must be able to connect to Google Talk in order to complete" Just a thought.

[Q] Problems with google services (hangouts, calendar, Chrome, login error nag)

Hi
I just got a new phone (Xperia Z Ultra), but whenever i try to login to my google account, the following happen.
The login works.
Hangouts fail with the following: "Couldnt sign in possible because theres a problem with google account permissions"
Chrome fail with: "Unable to sign in"
Calendar, music widget and information about people doesn't sync.
Google Now fails: "Network error"
Google+ fails: Could not connect to server
Google Play Games just close when opening.
and i keep having a yellow triangle in my notification shade: "Login error for --email--"
I have tried both stock, CM and PA.
I would be really really grateful if someone could come up with a fix!
Thanks
Just remove your Google account and sign in again I hope it helps
Sent from my GT-I9082 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
i usually have to let google services update after flashing and then re-installing the apps from the store.
Did you get the issue resolved? I'm having the same issues on my toroplus, after updating to official 4.3, have tried reflashing back to 4.2, factory reset... but no joy here.
have also tried removing and re-adding my google account
possible cause and fix
I had a hunch that it was something to do with my account security settings
Go to your Google account on the web, click on Security on the left menu, and look at the "Connected applications and sites" section (click on "review permissions")
I had an epic number of entries in there - so I started revoking access for a lot of duplicates, including about a dozen entries for Android Login Service (the downside of repeatedly rooting & ROMing, i guess).
1 reboot of my phone later, was asked to re-enter my password, and...
problems gone bye-bye! everything is syncing again.
I hope this helps others.
After hours of no sleep Thank you dannydpx
Best thread ever
I've been freaking out about this for days ... thank you for the awesome tip. Removed 9 account instances and I'm back in business!

Had a problem with goggle now on my Galaxy tab. Would crash out on starting. So I uninstalled google now, then reinstalled WITHOUT the latest google now update All worked fine! Applied the latest update, again crashing out.
So uninstalled and re-installed again as above, but without the latest update, all working !
had several duplicated entries from my Galaxy S3, and i have removed them all. Also i removed the one from my Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 2013.
Nothing seems to correct the issue with Google Now. Everything else works just fine..
i fixed all accounts by removing them form the permissions in the security area. the only app that does not want to connect at all is Google hangouts. does anyone have any other idea?
Please?! thanks in advance

Issue with Hangouts

I just got my moto 360 (46mm) today and I try to launch hangouts and it is stuck loading. I've factory reset the watch a few times. Uninstalled hangouts from my phone, then re-synced apps to remove it from the watch and reinstalled on my phone and resynced again. Nothing seems to work. Anyone else having this issue?
I did but it went away when I re-paired it to my phone and when I did pair it I just left it sit for about an hour til it got calmed down and it worked
Okay well I let it sit for a few hours and still didn't work. I'm going to forget the watch and uninstall Android wear and factory reset the device and set it up again and leave it overnight to see if that fixes it.
I'm also getting a weird message saying Google play services isn't installed on my phone but when I check my phone it says I have 8.1.18 (2272748-438). I'm running nexus 5 marshmallow preview. On my 360(2015) it says Google Play Services 8.1.20 (2283517-534) which seems like a newer build than available for the phone. Anyone have insight on that?

I got the same message saying google play services not installed during the setup of my 46mm moto 360 2. After that I have not seen that message any more and my watch seems to work OK. Me too curious to know why we are getting this message.
I also got the message saying play services wasn't installed. Of course it was. After the initial setup, I didn't see this error message again.

Does your hangouts load alright? Can you view conversations?
Well I figured it out so I'll post the fix here in case anyone has the same problem. I figured out that it was the hangouts dialer causing the issue. I uninstalled hangouts and hangouts dialer from my phone. Resynced the apps then rebooted my watch to make sure hangouts wasn't cached then only installed hangouts and not the dialer resynced the apps. When it appeared on my watch I opened it up and voila it signed me in. Downloaded hangouts dialer after that and haven't had any issues yet.
About the google play services thing I've noticed it does that anytime the watch and phone are transferring a relatively large amount of data over bluetooth such as apps

Unfortunately, it did not. Fix for this was to uninstall the update to hangouts and reapplied it. Then I was able to access hangouts messages from my watch. In my case a complete uninstall of hangouts was not necessary.

android.process.acore has stopped after I deleted a Google account on Sony Xperia Z2

Last night, I was having trouble with one of my Google accounts in my tablet. I deleted it. It's not the main Google Account. It was the third, actually, one I only need on the tablet for one app. I was not running that one app.
I tried putting the account back in. I've Googled the issue and tried several things short of a Factory Reset.
I've cleared the data and cache for Contact, Contacts Storage and Calendar Storage. No help. I've completely removed Facebook to see if that would help. I've reset Application Preferences.
I still get the error.
Is there any other way I can get this to go away besides a factory reset or updating my Android Operating System?
I have a Sony Xperia Z2 running Android 4.4.2 It is an unlocked Verizon tablet on a T-Mobile SIM or just on Wifi. (I would LOVE to try updating Android but I'm running into issues there as well. I don't want to pay $40 for a Verizon SIM I'll only need for the update.)

Details on the update:
On Wifi I get "Error during DM Session"
On T-Mobile SIM I get "There is no network available"
Verizon support doesn't know why I can't get it over WiFi.
Sony Support says I need to repair the software with Verizon's tool (losing all data) then maybe I can update over the Wifi.
T-Mobile doesn't know why I can get the internet with their SIM (I can) but not the update. Me neither.
I'm thinking that the update would fix the acore issue and just well, be better than Android 4.4.2 so I'd really love to give it a try if someone could help me past one of those errors.
Gabrielle
I think I may have solved the acore issue. I may post a new post abuot the Android Update issue.
I opened Application Manager and went to All apps. I looked through each one. For any app I thought might use contact information, I cleared the data. That meant Hangouts, Gmail, etc. Any app that used contacts. I got the idea when I tried to send an email and got the error litterally after every single letter I typed in an email address.
I tested it with Gmail and no error this time!
I spoke too soon. Something is wrong. I can't open Google Play anymore. I wanted to reinstall Facebook but when I open the Play Store, I get "Error retrieving information [RH-01]"
Please help!
Google Play Store works again now. Not sure what fixed it but it's working now. So I'm back to before I deleted that account. That's good, but now I know I can't get a System Update. So not too happy about that.
And it's back. I redownloaded Facebook and as soon as I logged in, I got the acore error again. So I uninstalled it again. Hoping that did it. I tried writing an email address in Gmail and so far so good. We'll see. No more Facebook on my tablet, I guess.

Issue: Google Account Contacts Sync not working correctly on LG V30 phones.

Issue: Google Account Contacts Sync not working correctly resulting in some contacts missing. The phone shows the same number of Google Contacts as the website shows for Google Contacts, but the phone does not have them all, including our son's contact which is what made this issue obvious.
Stats: Two bran new stock LG V30 phones T-Mobile version purchased from a physical T-Mobile store and running Android 8.0 via LG Bridge software for the update.
Steps taken already:
NOTE: I have never had a phone do this with the Google Contacts before, and I've had many.
NOTE: The issues was present both before and after the Android 8.0 update and before and after any apps installed [I only install from the Play Store no side loads either].
Four times removed the Google Account and rebooted and added account back in, with no resolve.
Three times a factory reset, with no resolve.
Once replaced with another new phone from the T-Mobile store, with no resolve.
Spoke with T-Mobile tech support engineering, of course they've never heard of the issue before, and suggested the steps I've already taken. No resolve.
Emailed LG with no response after four business days. No resolve.
I've tested the Google Contacts on other phones with no issues with the Google Contacts, ZTE ZMax Pro Z981, Samsung Galaxy S5, BLU Bold Studio 6 lte, etc. and all Google Contacts worked fine on all of them.
Added later. Ooops I should have also mentioned that when I force the Sync of the Google Account it often does not do anything, even if I have tested by making changes to a contact or added one.
This is crazy. What to do?

Just spoke with Sandrina from T-Mobile and she helped figure out the problem. The Battery Saver on the LG V30 blocks Google Contacts from being able to Sync, even if you manually go in and try to force Sync. That surprised us both that it would even prevent a forced Sync. But sure enough, turning off the Battery Saver allowed Sync to happen. Thank You Sandrina from T-Mobile.
