Is there a deodexed xxella rom patch ?(to apply via stock samsung recovery)
Because i want to deodex my old GSIII
Sent from my SPH-L710
Man.. To make any changes to the system partition you need to have root.. So first of all you will need a rooted phone..
Now once you are rooted.. Install custom recovery as stock recovery is useless for flashing anything other than OTA files..
Now if you have already done that.. Find a already deodexed rom and flash..
And the most important thing.. Read the stickies..

Hey, you can download DeOdexed XXELLA from here [http://xdafileserver.nl/index.php?dir=Samsung/Galaxy+S+III/CUSTOM+ROMS/wanamlite/XXELLA]

In philz change the back up method to .tar and instead of .dup
go to -recovery-backup and restore-choose back up method - tar.
there have been some reported problems with .dup method.
then try making making a back up again, it should work.
Dude ur absolutely rite man.finally it works thank u soooo... Much for ur help

No, the leaked stock JB 4.1.2 is not deodexed ma8, for the deodexed one u can try 'Neat Rom' which is based on the leaked JB4.1.2
u can flash 'Philz' kernel thro ODIN to root ur phone with leaked JB4.1.2 though
to get root flash this kernal.
>PhilZ-cwm6 - Stock i9100/i9100P SAFE kernel with CWM6
you will not see cwm in the apps, it is part of the 4 boot. press power and then restart, it give you the option to boot into recovery.
which thread did you get the rom from. If it is a custom rom it is mostly deodexed. Stock rom is odexed.
for ROOT You can flash philz kernel via odin-.tar.md5
via stock recovery -signed.zip
Leaked 4.1.2 is Odex .Mod for both odex & deodex in Thread =[MOD][LSJ][v3.9]PURE_INK+MultiWin+Ripple+SS/SR{TITLE Cant Say Any More}
in section DOWNLOAD ODEXED

Anyone have tried?
I'm currently on 4.1.2 Rooted ChainFire
I just wonder if it is possible to flash the 4.2.2 stock ROM from sammobile with CWM?
Which means
i can keep the root while updated to 4.2.2
Because AFAIK, flash via ODIN will remove the root itself.
any respondse will be appreciated
Thanks in advance

all the ROMs on sammobile are Odin-flashable.
It doesn't matter what you flash it with - if the ROM is not rooted, then you'll lose root.
Get a pre-rooted 4.2.2 from the dev section

The only way to do is with odin for mobile
what? no
No you can't
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
You have two options, flash with PC Odin, then root with CF Auto root, and flash CWM via rom manager.
Or you can flash with mobile Odin, don't flash recovery.img and check the everroot option this will keep root and custom recovery.
Hi to all,
I am newbee to android. After using HTC One V for few months I purchased Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100 from UAE. It was running Jellybean 4.1.2 having Modem XXLS8. On a fine day for the requirement of built in call recording I rooted my phone and managed to install Omega Rom V23.
All went smooth. But next day I realised that Hindi fonts are not properly displaying and I made a big mistake to flash Omega Rom again. This time I stucked in BootLoop . Everything tried. Finally I gave up
I thought flashing back may work so I flashed available stock Gingerbird rom via odin. Now system is back running Stock Gingerbird Android with modem XXKI4. Then I tried to update GB to JB via OTA and Kies, But OTA and kies refused to update software.
Please give me any solution to get back my 4.1.2 version or tell me any idea to get Custom Rom Omega V23. Will it safe to flash Omega V23 4.1.2 directly on current 2.3.6 rom with Philz latest kernels?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
Yes you can, you're gonna have to root it tho.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
Thanks. Can I root present 2.3.6 Gingerbird and Install Custom Rom Omega v23 4.1.2 directly? Or I have to reinstall stock version 4.1.2 over current 2.3.6 Gingerbird?

Well, the latest CMW version might be better, is not mandatory to go 4.1.2 tho.

I am not getting it. Please spoon feed me. I will be in debt.
I tried following steps:
I download Omega V23 custom rom and kernel - PhilZ-cwm6-XWLSN-OXX-4.93.6-signed and placed it on SDCard. After going into stock recovery I applied Philz Kernel via Stock Recovery. But getting error in red-
E:Failed to verify whole file signature
E:Signature verification failed
Please give me any solution. I dont have enough previlage to post into Android Development Forum as I am newbee here.

I guess you did not make backup of your original ROM... i would recommend that you install ics first before installing jb or custom jb roms... you can get stock ones samfilmware.. when try installing omega ROM again make sure you back your ROM this time so will not start all over again if a problem occurs at any time had same problem bootloop because of the kernel that was installed just did a full wipe fixed it for me and reinstall over again

Got ya I'll look around but I've never had to use Odin to flash anything besides to do the rooting process u would just need to get into ur recovery mode ether using clockwork mod or teamwin pro an that's how u would flash a ROM to the s2

Lol you don't need to be rooted inorder to flash a stock ROM
1. Yes you can flash a JB firmware directly
Go to here and find your fitting firmware. You can check by going to setting>about phone
Do you know how to flash this stock rom with Odin?
*edit - you will be unrooted when you flash stock JB rom so you will have to root it again using any JB-rooting method
