It is possible to increase the ear speaker volume? Maximum volume is too low in call.
Any app or mod?
Thanks!

I guess there is no such mod. And the lww ear speaker is already loud enough. Maybe your phone has some hardware problems?

You can try using any equalizer app and try changing it to treble or raising the higher frequencies.

Guys, we are talking about the earpiece, not the main speaker.
Seems like this is quite often an issue, by seeing multiple topics like this. Any luck by reinstalling stock firmware?
EDIT: Found this
Q: The call volume is too low, why?
A: This’s a known issue not only in Xperia phones but in the most 4.1.x & 4.2.x roms on other phones. Anyway, check your baseband. If you are not using the newest, update it here: How to Install JB, ICS or GB on Xperia™ Smartphones, as well as root them.
Or/And: Decreases the volume and increase it during a call.( this tip works for me, I'm using BB.77 but should work with other basebands too).

dunno if it solves it for u but at least this makes it bit better for me
- like abive said use baseband .77 or .86 (see which is better for u in connectivity & battery & else..)
than add this string in build.prop:
ro.config.vc_call_vol_steps=15

no, bro u understand me wrong :/ i only wrote this b'cuz some ppl i know add this line in build.prop (which increases volume steps from 7/8 to 15), then called somebody and than telled me (a friend) ''hey man my volume not increased, its abit lower'' so i asked ''did u turn volume full on after doing this tweak in in-call??'' he told me NO, bcuz he thought all is automaticly... :/
so i only wanted get sure. sry if u missunderstood this...

i tried by adding lines to build prop but not much difference after increasing volume..maybe no difference
talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-X10/SOLUTION-Increase-your-low-In-Call-Speaker-volume-Click-here-to/td-p/38303
i also tried the method for x10......in this i am able to increase the earpiece speaker volume but as soon as i press back the volume returns to original low values
Same here.
I am having the same prob .(using the earphones now days)
Even i gave my phone 3 times to the service center , once they took it for almost 3 weeks (i was so alone at that time).
It worked well for couples of days but then down again. :crying:
@bejunk I edited the lines dint found any improvement bro.

sry, but i cant say if its a 100% workin or even nothing happens (some things will make things better on some roms or not)
the thing is dont know other SW hacks to make it possilble (searched)
so it i think it have to be written at building of rom directly into HW files or other config's
--> i will post it on LX thread so may mike can do it (or any other & u can post it there too, the more, than better , but it can also be that its not possible, (values on top) so we would need a tool controling our speaker (the voice one) which sits btwn and makes a gain (loudness) but unfortunetly i dindt know & find any )

I can't find a thread for this for the S3, how do I disable the damn camera shutter noise?

Yes there's a thread floating around, I can't remember exactly where it is. But use root explorer and edit the shutter.ogg file iirc

Anyone else?, this little puppy had been out a few weeks now!
Wasn't this made not changeable *atleast within the default app* because of something that happened in Europe. About no spy camera shots or something.. They wanted the noise so you couldn't take hidden pictures. Or something along those lines..
So if thats for Europe chances are they will include the option to disable it in the US varient right?
Screenshot works for me just like the s2 did. Home + power. They need yo be pressed at exactly the same time and held for a second or two.

I've tried /dozens/ of times - it simply doesn't work for me.
To disable the shutter noise you need to delete the audio files, which requires root access.
Is there a way without deleting the files? Just replacing the apk so I can have an option of sound out not sound?
you can use pretty much any of the other hundreds of camera apps in the market. most of them will correspond to the volume setting of your ringtone so if you set the system sound to silent they will have no shutter sound.
my least favourite thing in the whole world is shuttersound, except in burst modes.

thats beacuse in s3 you have to hold both buttons one or two seconds.
you can do it too by dragging the side of your hand through the screen from left to right
The sad part is that because of a few people that deteriate the gene pool, we have to put up with that damnable shutter sound.
Thing is, if we replace the camera with another one on the market, which one would be better - the built in one or the market one? Does the built in camera app make those great shots or the hardware?
Open Root Explorer - Navigate to /system/media/audio/ui
Mount R/W
Rename shutter.ogg to shutter.ogg.bak or just delete it.
To undo, just rename it back

To mute camera just mute the phone with your volume buttons.
Screen shot still works with Power and home button just push and hold them for a couple of seconds.

This solution is quite widespread online but many people say it doesn't work for them.
I can confirm it's working for me - 16GB, pebble blue, Vodafone, UK - but it seems different markets can't stop the shutter sound this way.
Is there really no way to disable it without root

Hello everyone. Just to let you know, I posted this on the i9000 forums as well as it seems to be non device specific.
Basically, any ICS ROM (I primarily use CM9 and MIUIv4) I use has really awful sound. CM7.2 sounds superb!
How do I describe the sound? Well, it's like there's a tiny thumping mono aural sound when you listen to your music. And when a song hits a high note, everything just goes muffled/crumpled.
Any ideas anyone?
(even on the i9000, with Voodoo sound, does the same effect)
I noticed the same as well with custom ics roms, it must be due to lack of some stuff left behind in gb roms or some compability problems. Hopefully it will be fixed with the official ics.
Cheers for that! I thought i was the only one!

If you go to settings>sound in ics there is something called 'Audio effects'. Disable that for your wired earphones and internal speaker and sound would get back to the way it is in gingerbread.
cheers!

Thank for your reply, but alas, I cannot find any setting like you said. There's the DSP effects, but changing any of the settings there (enable/disable) does not help in any way.
Hello,
This is must first post on XDA so i could not post this in the appropriate thread.
Firstly, thank you very much for an amazing ROM!!! Very impressive work!!
I have now been using it for a day or so and found, what i think may be a "slight" bug.
When I open the Dialer and press a key, the volume of the key tone appears/sounds to be on max. Once pressing the volume rocker, the volume then returns to the required setting.
I am not sure if this is a known issue... or if this is unique issue.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

If it really annoys you that much you could always flash CM9 stable as looks wise there very similar
My intention was to just notify the developer
Maybe some other time I will try CM 10

Hi,
The rule of "10 posts" is really annoying for me too. Anyway, to answer your question, the volume in dialer (i.e. when you press numbers) depends on the volume rocker set in the sound section (under settings). I am using Supernexus Build 5 with Dorimanx 7.4 kernel + Gapps 4.1.2 (the 11-10-12 one).
I hope that can help you fix that issue. Let me know if it helps you.
P.S: Don't be afraid of asking. We all learn from each other, right? Btw, build 5 is super smooth with Dorimanx 7.4 (default settings => no overclock or whatsoever).

I am loving it. Seems there is not way to "solve" this bug.
What advantage does Drominax give you? Do you have a link to it?
There is another really small issue. When I lock the screen the lock animation does not always show. Have you noticed this?
Do you know how i can lower the notification tones without affecting the ring volume?

Sorry, I wasn't too clear about your volume issue. So here is what I did:
Go to Sounds -> Volumes -> you will see 3 kinds of volumes that you can adjust (music media & others is the one affecting dialer volume). Other 2: ringtones (won't be affected when you use the volume rocker of the phone) and alarm (the same as ringtone: no effects from volume rocker).
The Dorimanx is a kernel with the option to overclock (use an app like: Rom Toolbox Lite). The kernel from build 5 is CM10 modified by Faryaab. Just try it and you will see how smooth it is. It's a CWM zip file. Do a NANDROID backup before you install this kernel just in case you don't like it.
The lockscreen animation depends on the settings under Development (Settings). Just keep 3 of them at 1x or 0.5x will give you the effect.

That animation looks like when you turn off an old TV, right? I think it's called CRT animation/effect or sth like that.
Btw, I think you might want to have toggles and battery % mode right? I can post the link when I come home. I'm outside right now.

thank you, but what about earphone level? :good:
Can someone tell me how to increase SPEAKER (not headset) volume on the note 8. Exynos and rooted. Basically how to increase it in mixer gains.
Have you used the "adapt sound" feature in the phone settings? If not, run the adapt sound tutorial, and it should make a noticeable difference. It has for mine and I know others have been pleasantly surprised by doing this also.
I believe the file to edit is /system/vendor/mixer_paths.xml . You'll have to search through many lines to find the relevant sound paths to edit. Most default to like 80, just raise the number up, reboot and test.

Please look at the post prior to mine and try using the adapt sound function in your note 8.
