Will they take a phone with a custom rom? Or does it need to be stock?

I traded in my rezound s off custom rom and 3rd party battery

Oh cool. I wonder if they'll take my captivate glide...

I flashed my phones back to stock or at least visually stock looking before I traded it in (just to be on the safe side).... but the fine print didn't say anything about not the phone having to be stock. I did have trouble even getting the $100 at one store so if you run into an issue with the custom rom, try another store.

They took my old inspire with custom rom. At first they were only giving me $36 bucks for it. I told them I called customer service and was told to just take it to any Corp store and they will credit my account $100. They couldn't do it, but ended up giving me a visa trade in card worth $100.
I'm happy.

Was it on an aosp rom or stock based so it looks right?

Nobody is going to care. As long as it works, the screen isn't broken, it has all its parts, and nothing else on the phone is broken, they'll take it.

They probably will be unloading them on ebay or something anyway. They won't be reselling them themselves I'll bet.

The guy said it didn't matter. Didn't even trade it anyways.

It shouldn't matter. My Dell Streak had CM 7.2 on it.

What about phone exchange program?

ive been waiting for a cell phone company to institute a phone exchange program for the people who like to change phones to the latest releases. i figure it would include basically a deductible, which the $ amount would determined on your phones current worth or possible a flat amount such as $150 and your vibrant for the vibrant 4g or something to that affect.
anyone heard anything about cellphone companys talking about this at all? id love it because i certainly can't afford a $600 phone every 6 months. And the costs don't seem to really be getting cheaper for the latest phones.
I know you go to tmobile and you could exchange to a newer phone by giving yours and some money too..

I think best buy is starting a buy back program designed for that reason of new tech coming out so quick.

No you can't. There is no exchange option. You can get discounts on a tiered basis. So its a prorated discount depending on how long its been since your last upgrade.

Question about selling my phone

What would my phone be worth? I took the official ics firmware zip and had no cell signal after. Even took it to a guy I know and he couldn't fix it. Everything works even wifi just gets no cell signal at all. Got no answer about what it was in multiple forums but ppl did try to help me out . What would it be worth? Anybody want an evo 3d tablet? Lol

That could be a problem for Devs.
However, I'm 90% sure you can fix it.
It says you flashed it to Cricket?
Why not try flashing it back to Sprint?
Lol an RUU would flash back to sprint. Believe me..I've flashed phones..and i took it to someone who has an actual HTC dev account. Nothing worked. Like the other Guy said. I think my radio burned out. Unless its something like if you flashed a GSM firmware to a cdma phone. That's the only thing that might compare

My wife has this phone. This is her first android phone. I figured it would be a good first phone since she wasn't familiar with the android os. So far she loves it.
I finally got her away from BlackBerry

Not totaly every morning i take my girl to work and we drive through the LTE tower in hollywood Florida .and the only way to engage LTE is by the airplane dance . From testing that I have conducted

Yea I didn't think there was a forum for it. But I'm getting it to use for a MP3 player for work. It has a bad ESN # but he only wants $30 for it. So I'm thinking it's worth that much

My wife has this phone as well, couldn't talk her into spending a little more money for a real phone. She likes a smaller screen even though she is always stealing mine when I'm home. I would love to root it and get some better battery life.
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
Look closer on google the viper is running ics now. Don't want to tell ya where to look but its definitely on google!
Sent from my LG-LS840 using xda app-developers app
Looks like ics will be rolling out in the next couple weeks. Hopefully it helps with battery life.
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
Look even closer and ics can manually be pushed, using the update.zip and factory recovery but you can't be rooted or have deleted any sprint apps..

Here, this method works for the viper too. Just download the last file and use 7zip to unzip it and follow the instructions. I rooted my LG Viper that has ICS on it.
If you do not have ICS on it use this method to root
http://forums.androidcentral.com/lg-viper-4g-lte/171000-how-root-gb-root-lg-viper-gb-ics.html
Both methods work on either ICS or GB
These are not my programs, just a messenger.
Still no home for the viper?

Local Craigslist draws more locals that may be interested. Just meet the buyer at a VZW store to do it.

Craigslist is definitely the way to go. I don't even mess with eBay anymore. When I got rid of my Droid X I posted it on CL and it sold in about 20 minutes.

Here in Albuquerque they're going for 200-275 depending on condition. And considering unlimited data is on its way out you can tack on a bit more. Couldn't tell you how much cause a data plan is a difficult thing to put a value on.

Try http://swappa.com/ and also the Market section of this site.
Don't think you can sell on this site anymore. Seen somebody getting warned about it. Said marketplace was closed. Gonna try swappa.

Time for geek squad?

Dropped phone at work, broke glass. Possibly more. I have the $10 a month at best buy. Do i need to go back to stock? Im going to guess there is a way, i just need to search. Bad luck day, thats not all that has gone wrong. Thought about really crushing it, lol. Get a new one.
