The ultimate Recovery Tool worked fine for me. You dont need to install Linux, you can choose "Try Ubuntu (Linux)" when you use a LiveCD or a Flash Drive

Okay so I had revolutionary recovery flashed, and then flashed cwm via rom manager, now when I try to get into recovery, it never boots and it just rreboots the phone, how do I fix this?

[Q] PLEASE HELP with flashing PLEASE :(?

hi guys
i just used this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1248231
and now my phone is fully unlocked with s-on and rooted
can i now flash any custom rom on it ? like leedroid ?
if yes ? can u please tell me step by step please
(should turn off my phone - then hold down the power button with volume down - then i will be in recovery mode - then i should choose recovery - and then i can install leedroid rom from the custom recovery ? )
is this right or wrong
please please help me i dont want to brick my phone
Yes you can but before you do that go to Market and download the g u i app and this will allow you to flash the kernels and you will have to flash the kernel first using the g u i app and then it will boot you into recovery to flash the Rom
sent from my EVO 3D x515m s off using xda premium
And you must use this method because your s on and you can't flash kernels like someone that has s off

The flash image gui app need a rooted ROM.
And I think you haven't rooted your stock ROM yet.
First you will have to flash a zip containing superuser binary and superuser apk from recovery.
Then you will have root access and you will be able to use flash image gui app to flash kernels .
Sure no problem you see the attachment and at the bottom you Will see a icon that says flash image and it will flash the kernel for you and then it will boot in to recovery and then you will flash your Rom

[Q] Bricked Evo 3D GSM :(

Hello. I bricked my evo and cant do anything. How did it happen? :
-I have downgraded hboot from 1.53.007 to 1.49.007 with downgrading tool.
-I made s-off and installed RUU ver. 1.20.401.2 europe shooteru
-Then i installed superuser and 4ext recovery
-After that i flashed custom ROM warm 2.3 with sense 3.5 and overclocked cpu to 1.56 Ghz and Gpu to 330 and 280 (i think)
-Everything working fine, but i wanted to revert back to RUU 3.28.401.1 and i shouldnt. So i thaught i can do it through that downgrading tool and light brick it and downgrade and install newer RUU but i didnt read that if i do it with s-off, then i got bricked. Downgrading tool showed that this device cannot accept data from it (or something like that)
-I tried pushing every button, more buttons at once and everything else, but i still see tiny red light next to front camera. Its charging i think, but nothing happening. Please help.
My device before brick:
warm 2.3
s-off
revolutionary
4ext
GSM evo
1.49.1101 (or something like that after s-off)
Which downgrading tool did you use?

What version of TWRP are you currently on?
Sent from my HTC EVO 4G LTE
First off, confirm exactly what ROM you installed - I mean the actual link to the ROM itself.
Secondly, install a custom HBOOT - the stock HBOOTs, even when "UNLOCKED" can be stingy about allowing system to be written to, especially with a stock boot image.
And thirdly, please confirm what version of TWRP you are using. If it's not the latest, I recommend this one (updated to allow flashing KitKat ROMs, if you're so inclined at a future time).
I was on 2.1.8. I updated to latest, which I thought I was. And everything flashed. Now says 3.17. . . Thank guys.
