Hello. I bricked my evo and cant do anything. How did it happen? :
-I have downgraded hboot from 1.53.007 to 1.49.007 with downgrading tool.
-I made s-off and installed RUU ver. 1.20.401.2 europe shooteru
-Then i installed superuser and 4ext recovery
-After that i flashed custom ROM warm 2.3 with sense 3.5 and overclocked cpu to 1.56 Ghz and Gpu to 330 and 280 (i think)
-Everything working fine, but i wanted to revert back to RUU 3.28.401.1 and i shouldnt. So i thaught i can do it through that downgrading tool and light brick it and downgrade and install newer RUU but i didnt read that if i do it with s-off, then i got bricked. Downgrading tool showed that this device cannot accept data from it (or something like that)
-I tried pushing every button, more buttons at once and everything else, but i still see tiny red light next to front camera. Its charging i think, but nothing happening. Please help.
My device before brick:
warm 2.3
s-off
revolutionary
4ext
GSM evo
1.49.1101 (or something like that after s-off)
Which downgrading tool did you use?

Could be missing the kernel. Are you s-off?
Sent from my PG86100 using xda app-developers app
It's S-ON
S-on prevents kernels from flashing. If you use EXT4 Recovery, you can get around that with smart flash. That might be the problem.
I'm s-off so I don't use smart flash, can't help much in using it.

This happened to me while flashing a rom, a project i have for you guys(4+). Had got a good brick and didnt have supercid to flash ruu and was using a at&t cid(another history) however there was no way i could flash recovery (flashed many times and didnt boot) so this is something that may help people on the same situation with s off, this just left status unlocked and tampered went away
get into fastboot(voulme down+ power)
Code:
fastboot oem writecid 1111111
for this step you need ruu, get it from here http://d-h.st/MOw
then write this till it suceeds
Code:
fastboot flash zip 2.17.605.2_rom.zip
then flash a recovery
Code:
fastboot flash recovery path/to/recovery.img
and then
Code:
fastboot reboot recovery
you are now in recovery, flash what you want
Hope This Helps, If So Hit Thanks.
What does a huge brick look like I think I screwed up, I was trying to get s-off by flashing that ruu but it wouldn't work I didn't have full shell root so I flashed a boot IMG that gave me full root but now when I boot up it shows the HTC screen then black I can't get it in to recovery but I can get it in to boot loader please help me I'm completely new to htc

you need to pull the boot.img from the rom zip and flash it via adb. is your bootloader unlocked.
if you are unlocked and s-on you'll have to do this for each rom you flash.

ok first of all to unlock again you need your unlock token from htcdev. the command is "fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin" without the " "
but you don't need to do that if you just want to get back to stock. leave the bootloader locked and run an RUU from here
one of the sprint ICS ruu should work. I have a gsm device so i'm not really sure which RUU

What version of TWRP are you currently on?
Sent from my HTC EVO 4G LTE
First off, confirm exactly what ROM you installed - I mean the actual link to the ROM itself.
Secondly, install a custom HBOOT - the stock HBOOTs, even when "UNLOCKED" can be stingy about allowing system to be written to, especially with a stock boot image.
And thirdly, please confirm what version of TWRP you are using. If it's not the latest, I recommend this one (updated to allow flashing KitKat ROMs, if you're so inclined at a future time).
I was on 2.1.8. I updated to latest, which I thought I was. And everything flashed. Now says 3.17. . . Thank guys.
