Hey guys!
Have been running BMM a while now without any issues, and my phone has been running great on 4.1.2. Yesterday I installed AOKP 4.2.2, and the ROM itself works perfectly fine, but if I reboot my phone it always goes to System1. My AOKP is on System2.
This isnt that big of an issue, as I'll just use BMM to reboot to system2 (And lets be honest, how often do we actually turn our phones off..?) But nevertheless I'd like to have it boot straight to System2. I'm quite familiar with BMM, but can't seem to find a setting for this. I only find the reboot option to reboot to System2 out of recovery, and to switch to System2. What I want is to set which system it automatically boots to.
Can anyone give me a pointer to how I'd do this?
Thanks ahead of time to this great community!
I myself am having problems with BMM too. It is not as easy as SS3. Well at least for me I cannot delete the system 2 which I opened for another rom . Do you know how can I do that?
Hm, I don't know how you can delete it, or even if you can. What would be the purpose of deleting it? It wont be in the way or anything afaik.
Just Wanted to know if there is a way to do it. I searched it a lot. And the last time I deleted my internal storage :/ a good cleaning isn't it

In the app that you install in the system (Boot Menu Manager) you can choose the default system to boot. It's on the first page of the manager.
Do'h! It never occured to me to check in the app, just in the recovery.. Thanks a lot, that solved my problem!
Glad to be helpful :]

when u reboot your phone press the android icon on the bmm splashscreen and go into settings. in there choose the system u want to delete and
select destroy. destroy all 3 (cache, system and data.
even i found bmm hard first but i feel it is much better than safestrap
That I cannot do on system 2. I tried it but there is no destroy on system 2. Only on System 1. I dunno why :/ I want to delete System 2 But there is only Activate Button.

you cannot delete system 2 since this is webtop partition and is made by motorola.
this was needed by GB. from ICS and above this feature is into the first system itself
therefore, activate it and flash a rom into it. SS cannot do that, it takes space from internal memory only
Going off topic - what's the size of your bmm nandroid (DUP) backup? I got somewhere near 680KB for a full backup!

My software on my droid x2 isn't doing good. From what I have seen something will happen in the background that causes all my system apps to restart, only they never finish restarting which begins to devour my memory and eventually leads to my phone freezing up. Also the ringtones like to change randomly to default (alarms set in third party apps too).
I was hoping rooting and getting rid of bloatware would solve this problem but it is still persisting. I thought I could restore backed up system apps with Titanium Backup so I was removing the apps. I'll leave them "restoring" for 45 minutes with no luck (I tried both just restoring the app and restoring both apps and data). So apparently it doesn't work like that.
My question is if I do a factory reset with my phone in its current condition, will I have an issue?
If u diddnt freeze the apps then you might. Did u back them up before u removed them?
Sent from my DROID X2 using Tapatalk
Yes I backed up all of them, but when I go to restore them it doesn't work. It just keeps restoring them eternally. I waited 45 minutes for app only restore and it wasn't done.
If I am just clearing data in the process of a factory reset, can I maybe wipe data manually or with a tool that wipes data?
Anyone know the answer to this? I tried installing from the apk pack of services, but not all of them would install. My phone really needs a factory reset, I'm getting a lot of software related errors.
Could I maybe manually wipe certain apps? If anyone happens to know which built in apps are okay to wipe I would like to know.

Not all the apps in system can be installed via tapping on them. They need to be manually moved to system/app then change permissions. You can copy all over using root explorer

All you need to do is swap internal and external mount points. My Eclipse ROM has this built in. There is an init.d script that is floating around here that will do it as well.

I thought ROM manager was an app? (Never used it) So if it is, couldn't you use TiBu to remove it? If it's not an app, I would still like to know if it's possible to get rid of, without switching ROMs of course.

ROM and CWM are together on my phone it came when I installed CM9.. I have not really used it though just to put in recovery mode. I have installed anything via internal SD from the PC to phone ... As it seemed prior the phone was having an issue so have avoided it. I am thinking just leave it as said and just don't use.
My phone is running smooth and great even battery life over the last couple days has doubled. I was just curious actually if TiBu would be the way to remove it IF I should need to.

CM9 came with ROM and CWM together in one app upon install. I was curious if I should remove through TIBU and then download Goo Manager from the market instead and install that... I just don't want to mess up my phone again as it runs great without a hitch.

Just delete it from /system/app or move it from /system/app to your sd card. This uninstalls it while keeping the apk should you want to use it again.

Just do this ^^^ and don't worry about anything.
The phone has absolutely no dependency on rom manager. Neither does your recovery. Cwm operation is independent from rom manager.
In CM9, ROM Manager cannot be uninstalled, but gives you an option to disable it. After that, it won't show up on the Apps Drawer again. That's what I did. If you did install any updates, you have to uninstall all updates and then the disable button will show up to be selected. HTH.

Hi! Long History, Yesterday I tried "Android Tweaker" app from one guy here on XDA.. BIG MISTAKE.. I select the tweaks i want and apply them all! well, first, I lost root access.. (lucky me i was on release4, so i can root again without problem) second, the tablet now is so unstable, sometimes is really fast.. and other times, (most of the time) is just SO SLOW! even my xperia 2010 is faster! so, i decided to root again and try to fix everything.. i fixed some things but still i have so much lag!, so i decided to install again my firmware.. I boot on the recovery and i tried to install my firmware (release4) again.. no luck .. the recovery says that i can't install the same version.. so my last resort.. Factory reset, i do it from recovery.. now on the first boot I have to type my name, my gmail account etc, so I can see that the factory reset works, .. but when I see my homescreen.. i realized that the tweaks ARE STILL THERE! :crying:
So, how do I perform a FULL WIPE?
Thanks!

hi guys.. i have a big issue with my razr when i try to use cyanogenmod ( the official one obviously)
the problem is quite simple..i use safestrap to install the custom rom in rom slot1, i flash the rom and gapps, i wipe cache/dalvik cache ( so i do everything that should be done) but when i try to use google now (in particular the voice search) google search close down and it doesn't worked...this happened even when i was on official 4.0.4 and even now that i'm on 4.1.2....i have noticed that in the stock rom if i get "motorola service" unistalled, google voice doesn't work anymore... ( and even in this case with the stock rom i'm the only one who has this problem)
but with cyanogenmod 10.1 ,which is a modified rom installed in a different partition i really can't understand why it doesn't work to me!! ( i've already asked in other italian's forums if someone else had the same problem, but i'm still the only one..)
how can i solve it?
p.s. sorry for my imperfect english :crying:

u better not mess around with the processes happening in bmm ( install bmm to main nemu) accept it if it asks
actually deleting system 2 does not release any space. that space was withheld by motorola for the webtop partition on EVERY phone
now that we dont use that space , it is used as a place to test roms on our phones AKA system 2
on the other hand safestrap does not use this and utilizes the internal sd partition to install roms

No any work around found. Tryied all workaround like installing init.d toggler also no use. So i, flash my cm11 backup. Using cm11 now. (between i dont like lollipop visuals and stock rom is no extra features, not even xposed will work so i use cm12 only when arrive)
After flashing Cm11 i found on the Web that in twrp recovery go to advanced and select fix permission and try mounting link2sd but before you do take full nandroid backup.. If brick happens....

I just installed the latest link2sd update. It first shows partition not mounted then shows an error message and shows the option to recreate mount scripts or quick reboot because the mount script is loaded after system startup and after quick reboot second partition is really mounted. I think after every reboot this quick reboot is necessary , but at least its now working.
And apps2sd is working for all the apps.

I think i found the error guys the problem related to lollipop is older version of lollipop.
By version 4.0 this problem vas solved.. .. Anyone plz try and reportback.. ..
It still doesn't automatically mount the second partition. Boots up, shows the error, after quick reboot, it then starts working. I guess init.d scripts aren't working at all. They are not at all mounted at boot no matter what. Tried init.d toggler, enabler and what not, nothing works at all. Problem is with lollipop probably.

I am using ext4 . And yes I can link apps now. I didn't do anything special. Its just like after booting once it needs to quick reboot once again to mount the second partition and then the linked apps appear. Its still not perfect but its working. I would not suggest to link any important apps , I am only linking games and theme apks etc. so that if something goes wrong it doesn't matter.

Thanks but I dont think it's gonna work. Problem is not with permissions, problem is that init.d scripts are simply not run at boot at all and until and unless tht happens, nothing can be done. I used a test script which supposed to run at boot but it simply didn't run. I dont know whats going wrong with lollipop. I hope some senior member throws some light upon this issue and I hope the creator of link2sd is also listening.

I confirmed that in lollipop build link2sd v4.0 released yesterday only work..
But one roblem there that after reboot u have to quick reboot everytime. This is I think bug in the init.d of the ROM not the link2sd fault...
It's up to mfn subscribers to report this bug as soon to make sure final build will come buggless........
If I am wrong..correct me.

I tried with ext4.. On thing is after restart dont creat another mount script.. simply go to reboot and chose quick reboot. .. .
But my phone restarts itself outta nowhere in every ROM! There was no Xposed module installed nor any other apps who want root permissions (I installed fresh KitKat 4.4.4 but still)
My main point is, it doesn't soft reboot, which makes all linked apps disappear after booting up. Any fix for this? (My phone was fell on the floor once which made it's screen cracked and I can't hear any audio anymore. I put the new screen but... :/ I don't think it'll be related to all of sudden reboots)
