Has anyone figured how to disable the NFC icon in the shade? It's getting crowded up there.
Thanks
Drew

Turn off NFC. ... Seriously, that's it on stock.
You can flash custom ROM and choose the International setup and it'll be gone. There's also a mod to make to hide it from view. But again requires root and deodexed ROM.

I think you knew that already tho, just want to disable the icon? I guess follow what he said ^
I know I can disable NFC. But that is not what I'm looking to do.
I want to keep NFC online while only disabling the appearance of the icon in the shade.
I'm familiar with custom roms and the fact that international versions do not have this icon, however I'm looking to maintain my stock att Os
I currently do have root and am using Xposed framework for system modifications
Thank you
Drew

Okay, then this is going to be your best bet. This is the mod I mentioned. It does not make it completely gone, it only makes it invisible.

so you don't get any space back in the status bar, the NFC symbol is just completely transparent?

Right, no space back in the bar. I hate the icon too. :/ I hope someone comes up with a better solution.

As title says...how do I add the additional quick links to the pull menu bar (screen brightness, ringer volume, rotate)???
I've been looking and am hoping someone can help....I don't want to flash a different ROM to get them, just mod the one I'm on now. A flashable zip would be even better
Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks for posting this. Do you have to do anything else besides flash this? I'm pretty n00b at looking inside apks
i flashed this and I didn't get any extra settings. Any ideas? Thanks, I'm on stock rooted btw
Yeah, HTC should really offer some customization of their quick settings.
I'd personally like to see an option to put the phone in standby, like is available on some MIUI ROMs. The less I need to use the hard power button, the longer it'll last.

I think this is what I have but it's made for gingerbread 2.3.3 which works for the most part on 2.3.4 but instead of saying "of or on" it just says "1% 2%". Are you using 2.3.4?
is there an update of this zip for 2.3.4?
Thanks!

Screen off and lock from the market.
Solves your problem.
I know this maybe be imposible but...I wonder can some dev do an app to make a shortcuts launcher in the notification bar?....I mean like the shortcuts from CM7...the scrolling launcher but for custom aplications?
I make a image in photoshop

Just an idea...
I don't believe it's possible to modify the notification bar itself without root, and likely will want to be done by someone with experience brewing custom ROMs.
I believe you should be able to create a custom "ongoing" notification that contains a collection of controls, but it'll be listed in the Ongoing section rather than at the top it'd look/work best. See the section "Creating a Custom Expanded View" here: http://developer.android.com/guide/topics/ui/notifiers/notifications.html
Well...I know its hard...but maybe editing the cm7 scripts from the system and duplicating that...well I think I'll just have to wait for the miracle to come...

What theme was it before you added the applications? I like the notification controls
I keep reading that the gray arrow with the minus or plus sign is "notifications off" but I don't see a toggle to turn it on or off. It's not in the pull down menu, even if I go right or left. Tmobile and others seem to have it, so maybe AT&T doesn't have the toggle? Where is the setting to turn it on or off?

I asked twice and no one helped. They just said it was there, look. Are people just going to ignore me?
edit: it was moved, sorry good sir, but I asked on other forums (international galaxy s 3) and they didn't say anything.
What do you see when you access the notification menu with the toggles ?

Nothing, no notifications. I think it changes when I get one, shows a + instead of a - sign. But I rebooted it and it went away. Not sure why it came up in the first place and not sure how to fix it (besides a reboot)
When I installed the chrome browser and did the login the plus thing happened to me too. And when I pulled down the notification bar I was able to click on the plus arrow and it took me to a password login area. Hope that helps bro.

I know that I get the + icon when I have a crap load of notifications (not enough room to show all icons in the status bar). Not sure about the -. Maybe it wants you to hurry up and clear some notifications?
After upgrading to 4.3 I now have this weird icon on my notification bar.
Anyone know what it is? The icon between Bluetooth and Alarm Clock

Ah! Thanks. That's annoying. I liked it before the update when there was no icon for it.
Notification bar is now full even without notifications :/
Oh well. LG G3 will be here soon.
Were you running a custom rom before the update? With an exception of the NFC icon, all of the same icons existed on stock Sense 4.

No. Always stock from day one.
No, the notifications on the left never existed before this update either.

the notifications with the </> can be disabled by viewing them in the pull down and long pressing on the item, choosing "app info" which will take you to that specific app, and if you don't want to see those notifications uncheck the "show notifications" option - I did this for the ones that would come up when I have my device connected via USB to computer as my notification bar was too full

icon
I was wondering that same thing
How do I change these?
I'm xposed.
Hate the look of the stock blocky icons, I'd like some bars.
Thanks
You can try GravityBox[LP] in the Xposed downloads. It's great for AOSP/stock roms but it may cause issues with OOS. I remember trying it but I didn't like how it behaved on this ROM so I uninstalled it.
First thing I tried. No options for those icons tho.
Think I'm gonna have to install a cm13 based ROM. Been put off a bit by the persistent bugs tho. Wish I had the talent to squash them...

App called XStana is also useful... I can't confirm if it works with OOS but it worked with Touchwiz so my guess would be yes

Flat style worked nicely. Supported the Dev. Cheers
I'm using this module, it's awesome.

Does anyone know how to get the mobile data indicator rather than the roaming(R) indicator in status bar when connected to mobile data in CM?
