Hi guys, I did a search but I can't find anything on the SmoothScroll MOD for my current LG Connect (vv3).
I am running my LG Connect with the vv3 baseband (STOCK ROM), Rooted and DeBloated but when I get a bunch of apps installed scrolling through them all is extremely choppy. Can anyone do a Smooth Scroll mod for this version? It seems like everyone has given up on the LG Connect 4G. Too bad, seems like every-time I buy a new electronic device people has already moved on to the latest and greatest and none of the old stuff that was made for this phone will work. I was lucky to be able to get it rooted, it came with vv4 baseband but I figured out ow to downgrade it to vv3 so I could root it and that was a brain buster. LOL!
Thanks guys!
No Luck?
Hum..... No luck with this?

Okay, the headline might be a bit dramatic, but I've used a couple of days figuring all this android stuff out.
I've rooted my HTC Hero G2 (European version). I was previously using the official 2.1 with LauncherPro modding and stuff and I liked the speed, but wanted to try out Froyo.
So I started out by rooting..
Then I installed Fusion!ROM 2.2, but after the installation I played around with the phone a little and found it to be a bit laggy. I then started reading some stuff about Kernels and overclocking.. But it's impossible for me to find a proper and well describing guide on how to do this..
I read that it's just like flashing a rom but do you do flash it to the phone after flashing the custom rom?
Of course this is not something I played around with when using the Fusion!ROM because I downloaded the version called:
Software over-clockable version... clocks reset when phone is rebooted...
And just now I found out that I needed to download some software to overclock the phone but isn't there some easier way.. for example downloading some of the other versions, but I didn't want to download because I'm afraid of breaking my phone in unawareness.
Also I read about FroydVillain 1.4 (but is this a Froyo version? Assuming so on the name, but couldn't find a statement on the download site..) and it seems to be a very popular rom including LauncherPro and ADWLauncher.. And since I liked LauncherPro on the official 2.1, I'm thinking about checking this one out.. but again I'm stuck with the kernel/overclocking question..
I thank you in advance for a guide / some good advice and as you might have noticed I'm quite new to all this stuff so I'm sorry for being a newb
1. First you need the custom rom and if you want a kernel, you should flash the kernel on top of the custom rom, just get into recovery mode and press flash zip and choose the kernel.
2. Software over-clockable version... clocks reset when phone is rebooted just means that you can overclock your rom with software like SetCPU and overclock widget, which means that you can set your desired speed in the software. And you can't break your phone by flashing a kernel or overclocking it.
3. Yes froydVillain is a 2.2 (froyo) ROM
Flash ROM > Flash Kernel
And definitely try FroydVillain (yep, it's Froyo).
Cheers!!
I didn't expect getting an answer before tomorrow but seems I was wrong.
I just flashed the FroydVillain and I'm about to try it out.
Is there any restrictions to what the HTC Hero / G2 can handle of kernels? And what are the differences between them?
On the FroydVillain page I've find a couple of different ones.. 614 / 652 / 691 and so on.. One idea on which one is fitted for a G2?
Once again.. thanks in advance!
Everybody's Hero's are different and can handle different clock speeds. 652 is safe, most can handle 691 and the 700s are pushing it for many.
Just a matter of trial and error to see the fastest yours can take.
Doesn't the initial clock speed have some limitations on the battery life time on the phone?
I also have just one question to the FroydVillain which you might be able to answer for me...
I doesn't seem like my Lock Screen works..? I've set up a pattern but nothing really happends. I've also added the Power Control widget and ensured that the lock pattern is enabled through this widget..
EDIT: I know why.. nvm
Thread moved to Q&A.
Greetings all..
I just bought a SAM Ace.. i had a Htc Magic then a X10 mini and now i turned to SAM.. heard that it was a good machine.. so..
I've been using XDA to root, and install new roms to my previous phones..
But in this SAM, unfortunately i am a bit conserned.. So can any1 help me in this questions:
: I'm running Ginger 2.2.3 updated throug Kies
1 - My mobile is sim locked.. i can't use any other sim.. I already searched that is possible to (root) the phone and then install an apk that unlocks the sim lock.. has any1 tried this? is it safe?
2 - I'm a bit worried to (root) this phone, does any1 report any problem after with network, battery and general stability of the device?
3 - Is the best stable official rom at the moment the one i have now or is there a better one ? Though Kies i can't find the 2.2.4v u guys are talking about.. so .. This isn't really an official rom right?
4- Since i've got my phone from Vodafone, it has some operator aps that i don't really use and they are using needed space, is there a way to remove them somehow.. like.. instaling a official rom from elsewere, but still upgradable through Kies? Or do i really need to (root) the device? After rooted, can i still install a official 2.2.3 rom.. but.. without all the operator crap?
5 - There are a few custom roms as i can see, i used to use de Cyanogen in my X10 mini, but i had some issues with sending and receiving mms.. , at the moment.. is there any stable and fully operational roms ? including the mms solved problems..? cof cof.. and good battey usage time ?
6 - Sorry for any bad english.
Thank you !!
Welcome to the community!
For question 4,I have used 2.2.1 and 2.3.4.felt ok except the wifi died occasionally which was a documented problem.
For question 5,I am currently on cyanogen but its a rc version.I am quite happy with it as performance boosted.but it came at the price of battery life.haven't tried mms though
Sent from supercharged cyanogen7ace
Try to use cyanogen for the rom.

1. No idea although I don't see why it wouldn't be safe.
2. Rooting is easy. Like everything else, be careful and follow instructions to the T and you'll have no problems.
3. Correct. There is no 2.3.4 update through Kies...I think. Plug your phone in and find out.
4. If you want to remove bloatware, root your device and use Root Unistaller. Alternatively, flash a new ROM.
5. There are two variants of CM7.1 at the moment. One was made by BehradGH the other by Grif_07. Both work wonderfully.
6. It wasn't that bad =]

1.
You should really be cautious when trying to unlock your phone. A lot of people bricked their phone by doing this. Since I have no personal experience in this; all I can do is direct you to threads on XDA but I'm too lazy to look them up for you so I suggest you to use "search".
Thanks to those who answered..
Question for "jimbo.levy" ...
Can u tell me what rom are u using at this moment and how long the battery lasts?

I am using Icecream Sunday by Jusada. It's an ICS themed CM7.1 ROM but it has been stripped down to the bear minimum. Jusada initially made it as a foundation ROM for developers to then customize as they saw fit but it has become very popular amongst forum members as a day-to-day ROM. It is very stable and more importantly (for me) it is FAST!
Also, because it has been stripped down, I have noticed a lot better battery time.
Granted, the battery life on almost all Android phones is crap, but if you're looking to be more conservative with power and increased speed, use Icecream Sunday.
So to answer your question - I get about half a day's SOLID use from my battery.
As far as MMS goes, I am not sure. You'd have to ask one of the devs.
Hope that's helped

Welcome to XDA!
1) It can be quite tricky to unlock the Ace, and can brick/reset it. First check if it really is locked.
2) There's risk involved in rooting, but it's minimal - if you follow the instructions. There are pros and cons of rooting, but the pros outweigh the cons.
3) Kies sucks IMO, so you're better off upgrading with ODIN. Look in this section: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1167.
4) The best way to remove the bloatware/crapware is by rooting and then uninstalling them, or by flashing a custom ROM.
5) There are a lot of stable ROMs available, take your pick: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1194358, there's supposed to be an official Cyanogen for Ace(cooper) in the works, but if you can't wait that long, I recommend this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1263292
Also have a look at some useful info:

Yeah, title says it all. I have a XPERIA X10 Mini running android 2.1
BTW i want to go back to 1.6 just to try it out again, but i dont know how, is there any official way or do i need to mod etc ?!
Short answer: No.
Longer answer: Not yet.
Even longer answer:By the looks of things, all the Gingerbread roms available here have CyanogenMod inside them. Sony Ericsson haven't released 2.3 onto this phone and they're not likely to either, so the only way to get a 'pure' version of it would be to hope that somebody makes one...or make it yourself.
Why do you want GB without CM though? The reason so many people put it in their rom's is that it's very good. You get all sorts of improvements to the phone's functionality and performance.
As for going back to 1.6, there's no official way as SE will only give you the latest firmware. But you can use Flashtool to do it instead.
stock FTW!
I think the OP is like me and they actually prefer using the stock launcher. I've been looking for the same thing myself, a pure stock rom just updated 2.3.3.
I appreciate all of the cool tweaks and mods that CM adds to the rom but for me those tweaks usually end up borking another feature i'd rather use. I am also not a big fan of the customizations that some rom authors do like alternative launchers, heavily modified notification trays, weird fonts and color schemes. i'd prefer a just straight vanilla stock rom w/the sony launcher and camera; works nicely w/the screen realestate that we have w/the x10 mini. Again, i appreciate all the hardwork by all the rom authors/devs.
The big killer for me on the CM roms is the camera, still not up to the sony stock camera in my experience and again no stock launcher; some are close.
My solution was the following:
1. repair phone back to stock using PC Companion
2. reroot phone (bootloader already was unlocked)
3. reinstall CWM recovery
4. remove bloatware from stock rom (sony sync crap, game trials, quickoffice, etc)
5. update /etc/hosts file w/ad blocking version
6. create nand backup in CWM. (also made one after setting up miniCM7 in case i wanted to go back at anytime by restoring the nand)
if we could just get 2.3.3 in a pure stock form.. i'd be in heaven.. however, i may give the new ICS roms a try once they get to everyday-use-stable.
btw, the x10 minis have been the hardest to get root, recovery and kernels on of all of the android devices i've used yet. (Nexus one, HTC G2, LG G2x, Lenovo TPT, Galaxy Tab). mad props to the devs that got us to where we are now.
I own a LG Optimus V from Virgin Mobile currently rooted and running Android 2.3.7 CyanogenMod 7.2.0-RC0-IHO-KANG on Mirage's kernel ([email protected]))
While it performs fine and I love it, I have a few issues.
Ever since I put this ROM on in late December, I cannot connect to any WiFi network; usually stuck at "Obtaining IP Address" And I'd love to be able to use WiFi ASAP.
Also, I can not seem to install Busybox, getting the error that my phone is not rooted, most of the time, though it is. Due to this, I cannot run Font Changer, SD Maid, etc, etc, etc.
How do I fix any of these issues?
Also, is there a CM9 in development for Optimus V and not just Optimus One?
(Is a huge fan of ICS)
Thanks in advance!
P.S:I also can not wait to start developing apps and roms to use and share with the community, though my skill lies in 3DS Max and Photoshop.
A little advice
You can get into THEMEING....
There is no CM9 port for Optimus V though there is a good ICS-THEMED rom.
Try rooting again with SuperOneClick v2.3.3
Actually, it looks like there is an ics for the optimus v:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1504646
Umm, I rooted with Gingerbreak since the super one click method never seemed to work with me, could that be a problem?
sounds like its a rom issue, just root the phone again with the new rom installed, but the wifi problem is a rom issue, find out if other people are having the same issue with the rom as you are, if so, pm the dev about making a update to fix the issue
Agh, when I try to open gingerbreak it says "Cannot extract assets."
Is this maybe because I'm now on Android 2.3.7?
Hello guys, i was searching for a custom rom for our old device but nothing. So our phone is getting older and lot of app lose their compatibility with marshmallow. And now i feel 6.0 is ugly even with the evie launcher.. That emoji you can't change, sense home really eating the battery. I would like to see someone work on a newer version without sense home & newer version even if it is a 7.0. I know its taking time and knowledge,i tried to make one rom but it says my rom can't be installed because it isn't a56uhl so i deleted all and rage quit lol. So if someone can do something for our phone it can be cool. Thank you in advance. We got twrp so we need a rom ?
Ps : Sorry for my poor english.
