Good morning. Yesterday, I tried to update my Sony Ericsson Xperia U, from version 2.3.7 to version 4.0.4 with the official software of sony. After upgrading, I noticed that the performance was very bad, and wanted to go back to version 2.3.7 again. I searched this forum, and I did with the Flashtool and st25i Iberia stock 2.3.7 rom. My surprise was that after flashing and booting the phone, the touch screen had stopped working, ie unresponsive. After this disaster, I picked up the official Sony software to try to return the version 4.0.4 in order to revive the mobile, but unfortunately, the touch screen was not working. Do not understand what happens, and do not know how to fix it. I have read similar threads in this forum, but can not locate the solution. Can you help? Could have lost the warranty?

Hi,
Warranty is void once the bootloader is unlocked... :victory: not by being updating the phone that s for sure
Ok
Did u try force reboot it? phone is blocked? need more info about the mobile.... wich kernel u have
and if u had rooted it? that would be nice 'cuz if it is you put CWM for locked bootloader
then you reboot recovery mode make an cahe and dalvik cache wipe and should be good...

Ok.
No, the bootloader has not been changed, and the phone is not root. Furthermore, the bootloader is locked. It's impossible unlock it. The other information I can not give it, because I can not access it. The phone does not respond, and I can not get into the phone information. I upgrade the phone with sony companion software to android 4.0.4 yesterday. When I saw the android 4 is not going fast, I did the following roms flash with flashtool.
http://dfiles.eu/files/slix4vr06 --> 2.3.7 --> The touch screen doesn't work after flash this version
http://uploaded.net/file/6wqdbixb --> 4.0.4 --> The touch screen doesn't work after flash this version.
upgrade with sony companion software --> 4.0.4 --> The touch screen doesn't work after upgrade with sony official software.
Can you help me in another way?
try to flash with this one and i don t know then if its the same ask someone else sorry :silly:

I tried yet, but It doesn't work. The touch screen is dead. It's very strange. Could be flashtool the problem?
Dont think so...sounds more like theres a driver not loadind in kernel or bootload i dont think prob com from the rom anyways i cant help u more than that sorry dude... Flash stock kernel u will see
depuis mon Xperia P avec Tapatalk 2
Most common cause of touchscreen failure is flashing ftf of different device like go or sola
Bt both ur links points to st25i fw which seems legitimate
I suggest u should submit it to service center and behave like a noob
Tell them u u upgraded to newer version with sony software and it didnt worked
Edit - u can flash manually touchscreen fw via cwm bt that would require the highest level of expertise ...

Yesterday, I tried to root my phone in order to install Cyanogenmod 7.1 in my neo. I followed this guide, all went good except when I started to install the new OTA update, when the phone was installing it, I think it crashed and now I can't even turn on.
When I try to turn on the phone a green led lights for a little moment, and sometimes I get the vibration of turning on, but nothing happens before.
I tried to reflash the phone with several firmwares (all from neo) , but none of them work.
Please help me
Thanks.
Update: I have unbricked my neo just by following this guide. Problem solved
I think you have unlocked bootloader and do OTA, right?
Never, never, never do OTA after unlocked bootloader, it will brick your phone.
You can try this,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1126358
And I will remind you that if you recover your phone, it seems that you do OTA mean you got 2.3.4. never, never flash back to "2.3.3 with rooted" coz it will result in 0% battery problem (I am now in that stat).
Good luck!
Well I think I haven't unlocked the bootloader but I dont' know.
Thank you!

Just one note, unrelated to your current problem, eventually when you flash it with 2.3.4(as I'm not sure what are you waiting, or why you flashed it with 2.3.2, but it's your phone), don't ever flash 2.3.2. Read this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1312398

Build number : 6.0.A.3.62
Android version : 2.3.7
How should I root it?
I guess root is only available for .63, .67 and .73
Thanks
Why don't you upgrade to one of the newer frimwares then?
Just flash doom stock kernel,it has root and recovey.
You can find it in dev section.

Do you not get a software update notification if you have it check for updates under settings.
You can always flash an ftf for your specific region with what ever version you want.

Sony Xperia S Build 6.0.A.3.62
i have the build 6.0.A.3.62 with android 2.3 gingerbread. i have unlocked the bootloader but don't know how to test if it is unlocked or something else is still required. after unlocking the bootloader, when i powered up the phone, it was like i just bought the phone. it gave me those 9 steps to follow in order to setup internet connection, google account sync, etc. so how do I know if bootloader is unlocked on this phone?
now I'm dying here to root the phone lol. its been 20 hours i've been messing with the phone. right in this thread pratyush suggested to download the flashtool. but when i goto the flashtool website to download the latest version, the link is broken. file not found.
so i'm just wondering if someone can give step-by-step instructions for the build 6.0.A.3.62 and help me to root this device please. would appreciate your help a lot.

the latest one for my phone is 6.1.A.0.452 but all i wish to know, will it be easier to root the phone with 452 build? will i have to unlock the bootloader again after updating my phone to ics? i'm really a newbie and stupid when it comes to playing with electronic devices. but i can follow instructions accurately. sony gives a warning while upgrading that i wont be able to go back to 2.3 if i upgraded to ics. so all i wish to know, will it be easier to root the phone with present software build 62 or will it be better to upgrade and then root the phone on build 452?
please advise. thank you for your help.

You can go back to 2.3 just fine by flashing a ftf. There are a couple different methods to root ics. One needs an unlocked bootloader (flashing prerioted system image) the other does not (flashing multiple times while running some batch files). Both methods have posts in the dev section.

Easiest way is to unlock the booloader and flash the prerooted system.img you can then relock the bootloader if need be. That's for both ICS and GB.

hi ppl.
I was flashing my xperia u via flashtool when i realize that the fw i was flashing was for xperia sola. (dumb, i know)
I didn´t get too nervous , because knew that i could always reflash with flashtool , the right fw again,so i let finish the flash and reflash again , but this time with the fw for xperia u!
now the problem is that the touch screen is dead , no response at all!
I already try, to reflash a dozen times, i used seus repair option too, but the result is always the same,no touchscreen!
My bootloader is locked , i tought that a locked bootloader could prvent this kind of thing from happen, or am i wrong?
Now guys any ideia how to try to fix this, without taken the phone to a service center?
If ur Boot Loader is Locked .....

So you saying that the digitizer broke?
How in hell bad drivers(i suposse is the drivers) can destroy a perfect piece of hardware?
Well ,the best solution is change the digitizer?
Sorry all this questions, but iam really intriged by this.
flashing wrong firmware can broke the digitizer, i dont know why happening this, so the best way for me to get out of this situation is to change your digitizer. note that screen and digitizer is seperated to each other.
probably because the sola has "floating touch"...
that must have pushed the hardware while trying to use it when it did'nt exist on our phone .......resulting in a screwed up digitizer
if its still bootloader locked, just flash a stock rom and get it repaired under warrenty..

The report from the repair says that they change the touch and repair the contacts in the digitizer connection sock.seems that the problem wasnt new and some st25i came out with some defect in that sock.
So that make me wonder if the thouch stop working because the wrong firmware i put in or the hardware problem they report.
Well nevertheless i have the phone running again

I am facing the same problem.Yesterday I tried to put the ftf of xperia go..and now the touch sensitivity of my phone stopped working. Then after reflashing it with a proper ftf and relocking the bootloader i updated it through the SUS.and now it works fine with the usb mouse but touch is not working. So if i give it to the service center will they provide me the service in warranty or i have to pay for that??

So if the phone is generally booting and working after flashing different ROM, maybe there's a way to flash future JB update from Xperia P to Sola or Xperia U??? Replacing only the drivers of touchscreen to avoid problems like in this thread.
What about image resolution? ksonu03, if you flashed GO fw, UI and other graphical elements were properly displayed on Xperia U???

Dear xda forumers/developer,
my xperia go touchscreen is not working after flashed the custom rom. ive searched the entire forum for this matter, other than send to service center, there's no suggested solution yet. i respect everyone of you, so please return e a favour.
rom before flash:
stock ics 6.1.1.B.1.1.0
rom which lead to this problem:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2242539
reason:
the stock is quite laggy, so i decided to try other rom
what ive tried so far:
SEUS to restore stock ROM - boots fine, touch screen not working
PC Companion, repair option - boots fine, touch screen still not working
Flashtool, flash stock ics 6.1.1.B.1.1.0 - boots fine, touch screen still not working
Flashtool, flash stock gb 6.0.B.3.184 - boots fine, touch screen still not working
Full restore from CWM backup - boots fine, touch screen still not working
the touchscreen works perfectly fine before flash the custom rom
The device however, boot fine, no boot-loop etc.
Just that since ive flashed the stock rom, recovery (CWM) and root access was gone. plus, i cant do anything to get through the setup screen/first time setup.
since CWM and Root was gone, i have no idea on how to install/put it back. i assuming CWM was gone because i cant seems to access the recovery. any idea?
any help would be much appreciated, thanks in advance!
u can try this
flash xperia go ftf
dun switch on
flash wrong ftf (say xperia u)
still dun switch on
flash xperia go ftf
now swtich on
ps - this works after cross flashing of ftf
never tried for cwm flashing leading to touchscreen failure
at maximum ... flashing a wrong ftf will make touchscreen non usable (which u r already having)
so u have nothing to loose
just try it
plz at ur own risk.... dun screw me if something goes bad

thanks for the reply. the developer has been informed about the non-working touch screen. maybe i should wait for an update.
meanwhile, do you have any idea on how to root & install cwm on stock rom?
currently on ics, with non-working touchscreen, i have basic knowledge about rooting and installing CWM, but have no idea on how to work on it, cant access menu and usb debugging due to touchscreen problems.
can we chat on skype? my skype id "cjoenic" , maybe you can give me some idea.

ok thanks for confirming that. it really relieved me.
meanwhile waiting for the downloads, i think ill look for OTG cable at the local shop, maybe i can hook my mouse on it so that i can enable usb debugging, perhaps root it and install cwm recovery.
I have the same problem with the same ROM... I flashed GB and relocked bootloader. Gonna go to the service and let em check it out.. I hope it's going to be cheap.
*EDIT: Btw , root and CWM won't help you, been there done that.
*EDIT2: The second post didn't help.

I do have an idea and maby two ideas, but if it works I do not know. there is a difference between the two files as you can see, that each can be found in the ROMs after they are unpacked I thought to modify the file and stop, it in the custom rom but I think it makes little difference because the ROM does not yet start with a custom kernel .. I hope the other members know something how we can solve the problem or at least one that the ROM has made. otherwise it will go these week to a service center with the standard rom and closed boat lauder ... and let the service guys solve the problem, luckily the phone is in warranty: p but i wait for the time being: p
sorry for my bad english: d

lol okay .. you have stock rom for sony experia st27i and if you unzip it with 7 zip you can see that er is a file called (Under system/usr/idc) synaptics_rmi4_i2c.idc if you open that with notepad , you can read it is four the touchscreen.. i think it is that file thats have an problem. becouse in the custom rom , that file is different..
I am a beginner myself so I can not make it, but the one that the ROM has made is going to work today on this ROM to find a solution and if not there someone else know how to solve it .. we need to have some patience
and I use a translator to translate as much as possible: p
the only solution is sony service with stock firmware en locked bootlouder i think

try installing a custom rom if you can, download a new rom since the bootloader is unlocked, get the flashtool and get flashing with a new kernel and a rom... the help thread for noobs should be good enough... it's probably the rom or the kernel that's messed up
HIT Thanks if i helped

if you're on the stock rom its useless to keep it anyway, its slow and laggy.. if you wanna stay on it, flash it again or get a custom rom for it
