Yesterday, I tried to root my phone in order to install Cyanogenmod 7.1 in my neo. I followed this guide, all went good except when I started to install the new OTA update, when the phone was installing it, I think it crashed and now I can't even turn on.
When I try to turn on the phone a green led lights for a little moment, and sometimes I get the vibration of turning on, but nothing happens before.
I tried to reflash the phone with several firmwares (all from neo) , but none of them work.
Please help me
Thanks.
Update: I have unbricked my neo just by following this guide. Problem solved
I think you have unlocked bootloader and do OTA, right?
Never, never, never do OTA after unlocked bootloader, it will brick your phone.
You can try this,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1126358
And I will remind you that if you recover your phone, it seems that you do OTA mean you got 2.3.4. never, never flash back to "2.3.3 with rooted" coz it will result in 0% battery problem (I am now in that stat).
Good luck!
Well I think I haven't unlocked the bootloader but I dont' know.
Thank you!

Just one note, unrelated to your current problem, eventually when you flash it with 2.3.4(as I'm not sure what are you waiting, or why you flashed it with 2.3.2, but it's your phone), don't ever flash 2.3.2. Read this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1312398

So, nearly every Live with Walkman has the reboot problem. It means that phone constantly reboots when it goes to standby mode, or you're playing crocky 3D games. This problem causes missed calls and sometimes you just have no choice but to take the battery out.

@212th,
Have you tried to update or repair the software? Both can be done with PC Companion, www.sonyericsson.com/pccompanion.
If there's no new software available, just unplug the phone and click on the repair option instead. Remember to backup your data before doing this (contacts, messages, calendar etc.).

Hi all!
I'm stealing this thread a bit from rebooting..
It's like this.. I update my wife Live with walkman to the latest "4.0.2.A.0.62 (Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman)"
And after that was done, the phone just refuse to start. When you press the switch the led lamp just blink green a couple of time but the phone wont start!
Any know what to do? I see all over forums that many has this problem..
With regards.
Michael
You have to update your phone to newest firmware 4.0.2.A.0.62, which fixes the reboot issue. This was a software issue, which was fixed by Sony Ericsson.
Download Sony Ericsson Update Service(SEUS), and update via this program. This should fix the problem.
Copy-paste this link to download the Update Service
http://dl-www.sonyericsson.com/cws/download/1/110/61/1309763183/Update_Service_Setup-2.11.7.13.exe
Should also fix the problem of Bjerven, last poster. All instructions are inside the program.
Click Thanks if I helped.

Hey, have you tried flashing any other stock roms using flashtool. Try flashing different firmware versions and see if you can get your phone working again.

Hi, no I haven't try any custom rom's in the phone yet. Will try that as a last resort.

No, try stock roms first with different firmware versions before you try custom roms. Is your bootloader unlocked? Try custom roms only if your bootloader is unlocked.

I had never got this problem on my WT19i.
still restarting even after update to .62
Hello,
I am new here and bought the WT19i last march 2012. never had problem until recently (this october). the WT19i is now restarting like hell and cannot even be used. so i searched all over the net and found that i need to upgrade it to .62 (i was on .58 then) so to use the warranty i sent it and they upgraded the firmware to .62. but the problem still exist although you can now use it and the restarting was reduced, but it is still restarting. can anyone help?
it is on firmware .62
BB - 64
not rooted
locked bootloader (although it is unlockable)
can anyone help?
i am planning on installing 4.0.4 .587 but im worried about the performance, battery life and camera might struggle.
also is there really a difference in updating via PCC / SEUS and via flashtool using a stock .587 rom?

i sent it already. previously it was on GB .58. they upgraded it to .62. they say they are using pc companion.
but problem still exists. it still restarts it was just minimized.
on .58 it restarts constantly and unuseable.
on .62 it restarts randomly when taking a picture, calling / receiving a call. sending/receiving SMS.
so now i really plan to upgrade to ICS .587 but am not sure if upgradeing via PC companion and via flashtool has the same effect?
or will i try to flash .62 again using flashtool?

maybe i did the flashtool and PC companion wrongly?

SEUS
Try flashtool again. I have fixed every stupid mistake with flashtool
Make sure sou also check wipe user data. Try to wipe everything possible (except SD card), to make sure no errors from previous installations remain.

We'll there your problem. (in case you don't know) Custom ROMS + locked bootloader doens't go well.
i thought the bootloader was only to install CWM?
and since i have installed CWM without bootloader being unlocked, i thought i was good to go.
alright will try out SEUS.
BTW which version of flash tool, and which firmware should i be loading for the neo v?
oh anyway SEUS managed to salvage my phone!
thanks for the link!
BTW i got an off-thread question to ask, what is the differnece between rooting and unlock bootloader?
which one actually voids warranty?

Unlocking voids warranty.
But difference between rooting and unlocking: with rooted phone you had superuser right in your phone, BUT you can't flash different roms and kernel, because for that you need access to bootloader.
Unlocking bootloader giving you FULL access your phone. And this access is so great, if you don't know what you are doing, you gonna brick your phone very easy.
Also bootloader unlocking process is giving you root permissions.

How much? just a wipe data and reinstall a new ROM? And in what situations I can/I must/I shouldn't use SEUS? On my old samsung spica there was a kernel version that if I use ODIN with it the phone get hard bricked and unable to fix it... Some people had to send it to repair.
On my neo I have .42 completely stock for now... After unlock bootloader is it possible to get warranty back again?

Simple. Don't brick your phone. Before you do something..read forum, ask, analyse and then do it.
If you already unlock BL...then you can't use officials SE update tools.
But there is many other tools what working with ANY conditions BL.

It still amazes me why people do this. Se-tweak for unlocked bootloader well glad your fixed now
Sent from my MT15i using xda premium
People do this because is a rom compatible with stock kernel and WORKS PERFECT with CWM and bl locked, tested by me and a lot of this "stubborn" people who don't want, or can't, unlock their bootloader. Solution is very simple, tweak a little your update-script and make life easy to all these people who want install your rom and enjoy your work.
Is for unlocked boot loader. Not locked to be honest it's not worth it
Still incorrect as stock is crap and no point if you use stock no tweaks no point in se tweaked

I had the same problem as you recently.
Lost xrecovery, phone not booting, flashtool not seeing phone...
The only thing that fixed it was the flasher at wotanserver.com - someone mentioned it in a post here on XDA.
http://www.wotanserver.com/en/
Its free but you have to sign up...but it is well worth the 2 minutes.
Its all automatic, select your phone and thats it.
It flashes back to GB2.3.
Then you can use flashtool to go where you want from there.

Try a different battery
Hardwire a battery

Try every version of flashtool
Try x10 flasher
Leave battery out for a while
Then after trying several times some of the above, and still nothing,It would go for repair or on eBay

Good morning. Yesterday, I tried to update my Sony Ericsson Xperia U, from version 2.3.7 to version 4.0.4 with the official software of sony. After upgrading, I noticed that the performance was very bad, and wanted to go back to version 2.3.7 again. I searched this forum, and I did with the Flashtool and st25i Iberia stock 2.3.7 rom. My surprise was that after flashing and booting the phone, the touch screen had stopped working, ie unresponsive. After this disaster, I picked up the official Sony software to try to return the version 4.0.4 in order to revive the mobile, but unfortunately, the touch screen was not working. Do not understand what happens, and do not know how to fix it. I have read similar threads in this forum, but can not locate the solution. Can you help? Could have lost the warranty?

Most common cause of touchscreen failure is flashing ftf of different device like go or sola
Bt both ur links points to st25i fw which seems legitimate
I suggest u should submit it to service center and behave like a noob
Tell them u u upgraded to newer version with sony software and it didnt worked
Edit - u can flash manually touchscreen fw via cwm bt that would require the highest level of expertise ...
Hello everyone,
I have joined here hoping to get some advice, so i will be as complete with my situation as i can.
So, i rooted my phone, installed busybox, root explorer and CWM. No problems so far.
Read up on rom installations and attempted my first one. Cannot remember the rom at the moment but followed instructions as in "back up", wipe cache etc....
Now the phone is in bootloop, whereby it switches on, goes to sony erricson screen, blue light flashes and then goes blank. I cannot enter CWM, i cannot switch off until i remove battery.
I have tried both pc companion repair and seus repair but both say no software for phone(pc companion) and newest software installed(seus).
I have tried booting into safe mode the old fashioned way, but no go and finally....i have shouted obscenities at my phone but that doesn't work either.:silly:
any suggestions, or should i assume that it is bricked and send off for repair if possible?
Thank you.
