P769 - Wind Jelly Bean (v21b) allows "Move to SD Card"! - LG Optimus L9 P760, P765, P768, P769

Yes, I can move apps to sd! I still have to use the switch SD card script though. But better than using apps2sd.

You can move apps to SD but you still have to use the memory card swap script.. I'm confused. How is this different from before?

All JB rom's allow that. But it's still working way worse than Directory Bind.

So you're saying there is no script and move to SD is included with the stock ROM? I used a script on my ROM to swap the internal memory card with my external memory card. I install all the apps I want without moving anything or running anything. That's why I'm confused when it's said you still need a script..

Ok heres the real deal...from a NOOBIE DOOBIE...i am rooted, was on v20d with tmobile...my bootloader has been unlocked for a minute with a mirrored image at boot, although i do have the fix for cwm so its not mirrored and its not the bootstrap cwm either, i used the cwm collection of backups to go to wind mobiles v21b...i love it, way better than tmobiles v20d...and yes the option to move apps to sd is present in Manage Apps on stock rom and this IS NOT INCLUDED IN TMOBILES STOCK V20d although i had no problems using a script on that rom..i have used no script for the option to be present in v20b, but i cant get it to install automatically on sd card so i am gonna try a script for this , also i am going to flash through fastboot and (theoretically) relock my bootloader and fix my mirrored screen at boot...then im going to try oemunlock to unlock my bootloader without mirrored screen...-phew-..stay tuned...i will post my results as soon as i can....be careful with this one fixing the mirrored boot with original uboot can brick device if not on stock rom...and get all kinds of security errors...youve been warned and i am not responsible for any one else s mistake....

Correction
Recovery doesnt depend on BASEBAND...
ROMS depend on it.
I have tried using the official gingerbread here in the us, and i couldn't get the 3g data working..
On another note, you can use the clock work mod for the new base band, on the old base band... It works great, and is the most recent.

[Q] [LWW] How to make custom rom?

Sorry beforehand, my english is bad and this may be a long read.
I know that on the noob video you ask us to keep it short, but i think it won't hurt to explain what i need, what i found, and what i don't get yet.
Ok, i've got my SE LWW about a month ago, unfortunately it has bootloader locked and it's unlockable.
Then i decided to start experimenting.
Tried a few Custom ROMs, and they were great, but some lacked a function i liked from Stock ROM, or lacked my languaje (spanish).
This is my 1st Android phone, i come from a "long line" of Symbian devices, so i was used to make custom firmwares for my devices. I used to change stock wallpapers, settings and apps so everytime i had to do a hard reset (or factory restore) everything would be as i wanted, so i wanted to do about the same with Android.
So where do i began?
Searching the net, of course, i found myself directed to this place many times, and i found many "Make your Own Custom ROM" topics, but most all of them were for different devices or different Android versions.
So, i followed some tutorial on making a custom rom.
Took the Stock ROM, renamed it to .zip and extracted the files there.
"Alas, the system folder is a file named "system.sin" instead, what do i do with this?"
Extract it with ftf extractor, obviously
Great, i now see all the files suppossed to be on the system folder
Now i can edit its contents
...but wait a second...
1.- Ok, now i have some APKs i want to have on my cellphone, and deleted many, while updating some that have updates... but now... how do i make this into a system.sin file again?, or just making a system.zip and using CWM should work?
2.- Do i need to use some special setting for the .zip file, which i have to rename to .ftf?
Key questions are these, plus some:
3.- can i get a custom rom like this to be flashed directly by using Flashtool?
4.- can it have CWM and Root too?
5.- if it can be "this easy", what is the kitchen used for, then?
Now for what i have:
Sony Ericsson wt19i Live With Walkman
Stock ROM 4.1.B.0.587 (ICS)
Rooted using DarkLords' Zerg method and XPeria Root rev.4
So far, i've deleted many built-in apks, and i got around 100mb (or so) "system" space available on the phone
i know i can make some backup files with CWM, but to get it to work after a "failed experiment" means flashing, then rooting, then flashing again, and getting back the root with ICS, that's why i'd like to make a Custom ROM which could be flashed from Flashtool directly
Thanks for reading, and sorry, it sure was a lot (and there was so much else i wanted to ask...)

I tried Real ICS and Real MIUI
Real ICS lacked some stuff i liked from Stock Rom, but it's a great Custom ROM, it replaces many original features with better and upgraded versions.
Real MIUI replaces pretty much everything, making your phone look a totally new and different device, but this version doesn't has spanish as languaje. I don't quite mind the lack of it, but my girlfriend complained she wasn't able to use it
Have you tried android kitchen?

Checked it before, but file structure doesn't match. May try it later, but would this method allow me to install the ROM from Flashtool?
or i'd have to use CWM to flash?
Thanks for your reply

Copy, paste and fix from Real ICS:
Copy the zip file to your SD card
Reboot your device in CWM
Make a full data wipe-factory reset
Wipe cache and Dalvik cache
Choose install zip from sd card
Choose the zip file you copied earlier
Wait for installation to finish, reboot and follow the sony setup wizard through the rest of the setup process
Reboot again and enjoy!
The process is pretty much the same for all custom roms with locked bootloader
I mean if there are any custom Roms for locked bootloader phones wt19i,sory I'm new to XDA... If there are any pls give me their names or links

I've tried mostly all Roms including cm7.2/9/9.1 , minicm, real ics / lite.... Out of these I've found cm9.1 to be most stable and light.. On the other side real ics lite is an excellent feature packed Rom but its resource demanding.

Try MiniCMSandwich, that's got a very different UI. That's abnormal...
First, if you're trying to build your own ROM, look at this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=560271
This will reduce the size of your apps. Since I see you care about free space.
Take a LWW ROM and just edit it to your liking. e.g. change build.prop, updater-script etc.
Or, if you extracted /system form ftf file. Take another ROMs zip, and delete it's /system folder and replace with yours.
It worked for me. It's easier if you find a zip without aroma installer though.
Hope that helps
Hi!
I'm currently running FXP137 CM9.1 on my LWW, but there are some stuff I would like to have from stock ROM.
To put it simple, from Cyanogenmod I would like to have the lockscreen, customization options (like home screen grid size, notification bar toggles, etc...) and the buttons on the bottom of the home screen rather than the 4 corner docks and from stock, I would like to have all the apps (camera, calculator, calendar, phone, messages, etc...), widgets, equalizer, xLoud and Xperia theme. Something that would look more or less like this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1796272
What directions should I take? And should/can I start from CM9 or from Sony stock ROM?
Thanks in advance!

Replacement Fassy

I have a replacement Fassy and wanted to ask easiest way to get it up and running. Original Fassy has a 32 gig SD. Currently I'm running slimrom ( new fassy has root with paranoid android as ROM. ) don't really need to have either rom since I am an admitted crack flasher lol

Thinking I may have not asked right way. "New" fassy has PA 2.10 currently. I know its just matter of calling carrier and telling them about switch. Just wanted some advice on my ability to keep data from old fassy. Anyway, thanks . hoping to keep this new one running smooth another 3 + years like last one. XDA helps make it easy

use either Titanium backup or Mybackup Pro to back up apps and data. the backups will reside on your SD card. After making the switch, restore the data to your new phone. If flashing a new rom then you can restore both apps and data.
or make a nandroid backup of your current rom of your old phone. after moving to your new phone, you can restore your old rom to your new phone. course, it depends on what rom is on your new phone to determine what steps you have to take to get there. if both are on 4.2.2 then a simple restore will do it.
Thanks. on new phone its a 4.1.1. Paranoid Android 2.10. I'd like to get a 4.4 version running on it .

on data you can do these items and it creates you a flashable zip package! Eazy peazy...
And more!!!
Or if you want to put the exact slim rom on it a nand backup is the way to go
You just need to have the same recovery on both phones, make it, then switch out the sd card and restore the nand to new phone.

This is great, thank you!
FYI - it may just be me. But TWRP 2.7.0.0 fails when breaking a backup into files. I went back to 2.6.3.3 and it worked fine.

I flashed this on 2.6.3.4, have 2.7.0.0 now, but haven't really flashed anything with it, or tried doing a nandroid.

I flashed it with 2.7.0.0 just fine, but it failed on a nandroid. It will be interesting to see if others can do a nandroid with 2.7. Stepping back to 2.6.3.3 ran a nandroid just fine.

Thanks a lot for this. Quick question, can I delete the bloatware .apk's from the file before I install?

Their is a post down from this one on how to clean the bloat from the rom
ATT did a pretty good job with 4.2.2. Some really good battery life with ATT bloat. Is there a way to remove the bloat? Thanks!

Using a root explorer, delete the apks for the apps you want to remove from the /system/app, /system/priv-app, and /data/app folders, then restart. Obviously perform a nandroid first in case you delete something you shouldn't.
