What is your recovery??
Sent from my HTC_Amaze_4G using xda premium
Since your bootloader is unlocked all you need to do for rooting is install a Recovery (best done via fastboot) and then just flash in a Superuser package such as this: http://androidsu.com/superuser/
It's how I've rooted an HTC Amaze and a Rezound
if u haven't already get hansoons all in one tool kit for the amaze, to be sure your bootloader is unlocked when you boot into it at the top in red it will say "unlocked". Then follow the instructions above being flash recovery, then flash the zip after booting into the recovery you flash. I prefer 4ext.
I know but when i try and put a recovery while its in fastboot nothing happens at all..the CMD comes up and nothing happens..I attached photo
its as if the laptop doesnt notice the phone is connected
Sounds like you haven't installed the drivers to your laptop. follow hasoon2000's instructions 1-5 in the first window then you can use his tool to root your Amaze.
I do have the drivers installed.i just double checked too

When I type "adb devices" in cmd nothing shows up, isn't that a problem? Meaning it's not reading my phone?

Did u rename the amaze tool kit folder. If so, please make sure that the folder name does not have any space between the words.. i.e, instead of 'Amaze Toolkit' use 'Amaze_Toolkit'. The space in the folder name would break the execution of the script.

So I soft-bricked my tablet trying to downgrade the hboot to 1.0...03. It is not recognized as an adb device. All drivers are correctly installed, Everything is in line, but I still cannot get it to do anything. Hboot says relocked with a security warning, and even trying to run the RUU through a .zip file is not working. I'm hopelessly lost... Battery is charged up fine too. Help me, please.
Shameful self bump...
Where are you trying to use adb meaning what state is your flyer? If in hboot then adb would not recognize it, go into fastboot and use fastboot commands

P.S. ADB commands work only when the OS is booted up, otherwise - you need Fastboot commands

Just a reminder: to use fastboot, you must select "FASTBOOT" option in the bootloader, and you'll see "FASTBOOT USB" in the bootloader.
Try to redownload adb/fastboot utilities

Look for in the forum thread for your device
I am following the bootloader unlock instructions on HTCDev.com (I have unlocked, rooted and flashed other HTC phones) and ADB/Fastboot cannot see phone via USB.
When I try Fastboot oem get_identifier_token it says 'waiting on device' and when I try 'adb devices' it shows nothing.
I thought that the usb drivers were installed when I plugged it in normally because Windows sees the phone and lets me browse the SD card via windows explorer.
Figure that I am missing something simple...
Thanks

You can open the command prompt from within the folder you unzipped when performing the unlock by pressing shift and right clicking
Power off your phone. Power your phone on by holding power and volume down.
Highlight 'Fastboot' the volume buttons then press power to "select".
Plug your phone into your PC and open a Command Prompt. (windows XP - Click Start > Run > type CMD in box then press OK; Windows 7 - Click Start > type CMD in search box then press Enter) Change directory to your folder where we put fastboot files by typing cd c:\fastboot for example.*
*Alternatively, you can just hold down shift and right click in the folder and select "open command window here".
Type this into your command prompt window: fastboot oem lock
at least that's how I think it works
good luck!

Only when i re unlock boot loader if its relocked it doesnt work
Hey!
I hoped that I won't need to write here about this, but i encountered a problem when rooting my HTC. The problem is when I want to load into 4ext or cmw, it just dosen't load. It starts then "dies out" and boots up normally. Unitl now i followed this steeps (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1813818), even though I have GSM shooter_u edition. I also tried this one (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N8Qx18x4uM4) but without success.
Please help!
So are you unlocked?
Did the recovery flash successfully?
Does it actually turn itself off?
Are you typing an adb command, or using the bootloader menu?

Yes I unlocked it easily, I'll upload video so that you'll see exactly what I did and what happens. And also recently adb has also started somehow chrasing as you'll see and all files are from previous xda post which I linked.
And since I didn't post 10 posts, I cant publish links outside of this forum, so you'll have to delete few spaces in this link. youtu be/cmZ359uLCA8
Come on some one must know why is this not working! So what happens with my phone (if you dont want to watch video, because you think it is spam). I paste in following commands "adb push recovery.img /sdcard/" (it works, every thing is done in about 3.75 sec), then "adb reboot bootloader" (dose work) and then I enter "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img", does everything fine but when I revoer it, it starts loading, but the after 10 sec screen just goes black and it reboots again in android.
I don't understand why you're pushing to your sd card. When I flash recovery it is in SDK-tools folder, not on sd card

Damn it's been a while for me but if you look in the stickies for DNA you'll find step by step instructions...you have download the SDK files onto your computer, connect the DNA to computer and run ADB to push all the necessary files (ROM zip and boot.img file) but this step only necessary if you are NOT S-Off...are you S-On or S-Off? Also did you create a back up "nandroid" of your DNA before trying to flash a different ROM? cause if you did you could do a RESTORE but again first things first, you S-Off or S-On?

Not true. I'm afraid you are misinformed.
I've unlocked all 4 DNA's that I've had on a Windows 8.0 - 64 bit machine.
First one with Jcase's original exploit. Second with Supercid and HTCDev unlock. Third and fourth with Moonshine.
If you're on Windows 8.0, downloading PDANet will install the correct drivers.
Windows 8.1 however, broke the Fastboot drivers.
Hope this helps :good:
As always, have fun.
