SD Card Classes - Transformer TF300T Accessories

Right now I have a 2 yr old Class 4 32 GB SD card in my TF300t. Would I notice a speed difference I changed that to a 64GB class 10 card?

Only a little...depends on what u r doing with it

for transfering movies and music yes. what i have. but i dont think if you took boot loader update for the 4.2 roms you can use a 64gb. im still on 4.1 bl with cm10.1

So I have the grey and red sandisk 64gb class 10 card and cannot see it on my tablet. I heard this is a kernal issue? I am on 4.2.1 and running cromi. What can I do to get this working?

In that case I'm just going to stick with my current SD card.

pny class 10 16gb... I got on mtd with the stock sd card, but started getting corrupted shortly after flashing cm7.1, still works on TW tho...idk
Sandisk class 4 - 4GB, 8GB, and 16GB. I haven't had any problems at all with them.
Stock SD card that came with the phone, currently on cm7 nightly #97. Zero problems. Then again, I didn't touch mtd roms until about a week ago.

Stock Card, the issue I had was with the mount/unmount I think later versions of CWM have fixed that

My Fascinate is the device I am proud to have, because it is still supported (development wise) And has lots of ROMs, apps and kernels. And it has lots of roms. That is why I like it more than my other devices (LG Lucid, Acer Iconia One 7 B1-730HD, and LG Optimus Fuel. I use my Fascinate (with CyanogenMod 10.1 and Devil Kernel) as my media device(videos, music, etc.)

[Q] New 64 Gb micro Sd advice?

Hello All,
Like many others I have started purchasing my accessories early, so that they are ready when I get my Note 2 delivered to my door. I just received my micro SD card, and I have a few questions. I am wanting to have all my music and pictures loaded onto the SD card prior to the phone arriving. My only questions is would it be better to keep it in the format that it was sent in which was exfat, or should i format it to Fat32? I did do a search but I was unable to find a definitive answer which was best. It sounds like the note 2 can support both formats. Also most people leaned toward the exfat due to it not having the 4gb size file limitation, but I have not heard anyone successfully doing this even with it as exfat.
Any thoughts or opinions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Matt
I would ask the international folks since they actually have the device.
That being said, I will use exFAT as long as their isn't a drop in I/O performance.

It is best to format your card in a phone. I would wait till you have the Note2. I know people that have had issues formatting cards on their computer and using them in the galaxy s3

In order for CWM recovery to read the ext sd, it will need to be reformatted to fat32...also your pictures wont show up in the gallery, atleast this is how the gs3 is and I dont think the gn2 will be any different.

Just a note about the sd cards for this phone. I talked to a Samsung rep last night and asked them what size, speed and file format works in the Note II. He said up to a 64GB Class 10 card formatted to FAT32 will work, and that it can be formatted in the phone.
I just wanted something official since I was reading so many conflicting posts on-line about what works and what doesn't.
I'm using 64gb formated exfat and have no issues. See the file sizes?

64gb class 10 micro SD support

I just bought a new 64gb for my note and it doesn't work. I tried to format it and couldn't and then I put it in my friends note 2 and it formatted and worked fine. I went into settings in my phone and it doesn't show anything at all in the external sd slot. I know this is a noobie question but, could you guys throw a dog a bone.?

When I got mine I could not get it to work, there are several threads around on this, most say to format it using your phone which did not work for me. As I recall I ended up formatting with my PC and I had to use FAT32 filesystem. The ext32 filesystem that is suppose to handle 4GB files would not work for me.

I'm using a Sandisk 64GB microsd I got from Amazon with no problems. Running ICS Black Star X, I formatted the card in the phone if that makes any difference. I read online that memory cards on ebay are usually fakes so hope you bought from a reputable seller.

Officially the Note 1 doesn't support the 64Gb card however a lot of people are saying to format Fat32.
I decided to just roll with a 32 gig myself though

SD Card problems

I just received my 32 GB micro SD and I'm gonna put it in my note. I had a 16Gb. When I put in the 32gb it slowed down and my phone would freeze more often. I am running Liquid Smooth Jelly Bean 4.1.2 RC8. Ima format the 32gb so it can fresh it out. Should I reflash my ROM since I've upgraded the storage?

Did you move any system function or apps onto your ad card? I would put in the 32 and format and partition it, then take everything off the 16 and put it on the 32. Then report back your findings.
BTW- did you buy the same class card?

Now that I'm thinking about it, a rom re flash couldn't hurt.

Yeah I bought the same class SD card, and all I transfered was my music and pictures. I formated the 32gb already and transfered all my files. I'm thinking just to reflash it just if anything

Had one of my 32gb micro's crap out on me today. Of course it was my more valuable to me card. Popped it my laptop to grab some files for a new Novena flash only to get a "must be formatted." Fired up testdisk 6.13 to have a peek at the partition before panic set in, just to find it detected as 32mb. Was a genuine Sandisk. Not impressed. Can't for the life me get the partition repaired. I'm fine with taking the data loss now, but can't get it to format. Going to try HP Drive Key Boot Utility once I borrow someone's WiFi in the a.m.

i read a thread here in the forums, cant post the link though, "sd card becomes lil slower when the memory is almost full or completely full..
btw go for class 10 which gives 10Mb/s r/w speed...class 2 is very slow...
so even if the memory card is 8gb class 10 it will show some performance..but 32gb class4 will be fine..but at some times u will feel it has become rather slow.." i didnt see if you mentioned what class the SD card was. hope this helps a little.
My genuine 32GB SanDisk MicroSDHC UHS-1 Class 10 card did the same thing almost immediately after I got it in Septemeber. It eventually died after two months of use. SanDisk RMA'd it, and I'm waiting for the replacement. I'm expecting that the replacement will also die... I think our phones is killing these SanDisk UHS-1 cards.
Mine was a week shy of a year old. Be my last SanDisk. Doubt it's our Notes doing it though. Had mine in and out of a Captivate, S2, Note dozens of times.

This thread is defeinetly interesting. I originally had a patriot 16GB class 10 (excellent card BTW), as I began to run out of storage I decided to buy this sandisk ultra 32GB HC1 supposebly read/write speeds are better than class 10? Wrong.. my speeds dropped even with tinkering with system tuner/ SD settings didn't seem to help much.. I have screenshots somewhere of both cards tested and compared.Well besides that One month goes by and my device kept trying to randomly read and scan the card as if I just turned the phone on? Games and apps wouldn't start saying app not installed? Eventually the card crapped out asking for a reformat, luckily I backed up the card before it crashed. I sent it back to Sandisk they RMA'ed me a second one I'm using now.. going on two weeks no issues so far. I'm thinking maybe there's a bad lot out there?

16 or 32GB?

If I buy a new S4, should I get a 32GB one or save some money and get a 16GB one and add an SD card? Will the 32GB memory be faster than any SD card? Does it matter what speed the SD card is?

I regret getting the 16 GB because I am stuck on ME7 and the only way I can flash roms is with safestrap. If I had more internal memory I could have more than 2 safestrap roms which would be cool. But I manage with the 16 GB and and a 32 GB micro SD.
I hate having the 16. I can only have 1/4-1/3 of my apps installed
