Sense 5 ROM for e3d - HTC EVO 3D

Hi everyone! I'm not a fan of Sense (3.6, i mean), but i really like the Sense 5. So i ask: is it possible to port a Sense 5 ROM to Evo 3D GSM?

it would be nice though, i probably would of kept my 3d as my primary if so but developement kind of halted in my opinion

i tried a fast port but can't get it boot, i get some audio errors
i also tried to port some files and libs to viper3D rom, sense 3.6 camera starts, but photo/video resolutions are kinda wrong (max res for video recording is 640*480 ), and the 3D switch just focus! when i'll have time i'll try again!
by the way, any cdma user already flashed it??

I am making a port, now I have a first version, but it isn't working. It will take a lot of time. Anyway you must ask for permission to change their rom so.. It all ends here

You're right...we "discussing" about this but the Chinese had modified venom code before

We've already figured that out.
I have one suggestion. Because of Cool Mods, and the fact coolexe is one of the most active Evo developers, we might want him to support this initiative.

if anyone want to port sense 5 on evo 3d gsm, please wait the release of android 4.2.2 on htc one... Because with that we have the new sense and the latest android in one rom!

The title of this thread is misleading. For now we are talking about a mix of 4.1 with some app and probably customized libs from 3.6.
Porting Sense 5 based on JB seems to be a whole different story.

Thread cleaned so much I think I got rid of 99.99% of all germs!
Let's break this down.
I know you all want a port or something like it, but you cannot use someone's code without their permission, that comes out of our oldest rules. You also cannot link to ROMs that use someone's code without their permission (kind of like giving away stolen property).
So I am asking you all to please stop linking that ROM from the Chinese forum and not discuss how to use Team Venom stuff without getting Team Venom's permission.
If you want something from Team Venom, you have to go through Team Venom to get it.
Otherwise you have to do it from scratch.

I just wish I.figured out how to get the 3d working like the guy that posted it on YouTube..I've tried it all every option and whatnot and still no go. I dunno I'm still waiting for the other Japan Rom from the isw13ht to be either ported or whatever due to it being sense 4 with WiMAX.

I'm gonna try and answer everything at once.
Sense 5 Port: it ain't happening. Until the CDMA section gets their Sense 4+ build (JB 4.2.2) booting we won't see any other Sense+JB ROMs. The reason this isn't happening is the memory allocation method in the kernel. Pre-JB used "pmem" allocation, and JB uses "ION". ION is a requirement for android 4.2 and up and will not boot without the correct memory allocation method. Now you're probably asking, "well why don't they just fix it?" Well its because that's not as easy as you think. It requires writing the source up from the ground using proprietary HTC drivers that we don't have, and probably won't ever get, so its going to be a lot more difficult to do ourselves. There are tons of amazing devs who can eventually crack it, but we'll have to wait.
As for Sense 4 and up having working 4G and 3D and all that, 4G almost happened. Cmbaughman and myself came really close to it working but then my 3D broke and I moved on. Its doable, we just need someone to take a a day or two to crack it. The issue with 3D is something else. Even if we have something that has working 3D, it won't help us much to utilize it on other ROMs without knowing what the person did, so that will also have to wait, and we need the right permissions as well. So everything here is a matter of "we just don't have the ability to do this". Hope I cleared a little bit of this up
