Hello and sorry ahead if its a copy I couldn't find the info I was looking for by searching the site,so here it is
I'm currently running i9100XXLF2
And I wish to get the official update for jb 4.1.1
My Samsung app on PC and the check for update on my phone do not find anything new I know there is a polish area update (Europe as I got it)
I live in Israel and wonder if I get my phone broken by updating the wrong version, should I wait for official international update or I can use the polish one?
Any info or help will be appriciated
Thanks ahead

Are you running I9100XXLF2 or I9300XXLF2? If you're asking for flashing Polish jb rom on your S2 then you're definitely going to break it!
If you have international S3 i.e. GT-I9300 then flashing polish version won't break your device. But since you're confused about it that's why I'd advise you to wait for a week or so because Samsung has started rolling out JB updates and your country might get it soon.
Its GT-I9300XXLF2 thanks for the info ill wait then because I want it to be the official samsung update

so far as your SGS3 is international you can use Poland version, i've been use it, i'm from indonesia and my SGS3 flashed by poland version, all looks good, but i don't know why the stock music player doesn't recognize my music folder on external SDCard.
I had similar problem with nightly on sgs2 I did reset to the phone and it worked good afterwards try many regarding the music to the phone and let the player find them again
First try recopying then reset depends on u
Hope it helps

Please be more informative next time you post a question. Are you on 4.0.4 or what? And are you running stock rom (rooted/not rooted) or a custom one?

If you have the ROM that you get when you got the cellphone, then you will adviced if you have a update from samsung.
If you have a Custom ROM based on CM 10.1 [Google It] or AOKP [Google it] you can update in CWM [google it] without any wipe [Google it]
If you have a custom ROM based on Samsung, you need to wipe all the data and install it via CWM or ODIN.
^_^
sry for my english.

About your first point: thats the whole problem he stated.
About the second part: you're not completely right. If the OP indeed has a custom rom, then the updates from it (AOSP, AOKP or Samsung based) must be done like the developer says in his thread. @OP: in that case you won't get a 'Software Update'-notification, but maybe your rom has the Update Me-app or anything like it, so you can flash it through CWM.
If you (OP) are on a stock rom, then you have to flash the updates manually through Odin. However, if you're on 4.0.4, there is no update because it's the latest firmware.

Sorry guys, I'm on 4.0.3, when I first had my phone I downloaded a updated rom from SamFirmware and used Odin to update but now when I search for a new update it never finds one

So, flash a new one with Odin if you want to..?

I could do but I consider this too much effort inseam of just auto updating OTA plus I have a MacBook so no access to Odin anymore

And did you considered rooting your device? In that way you have to access to the latest build that are available.

I'm sorry, I've missed that part about Windows/Mac. I believe there's a different method for that, but I personally wouldn't know how..

This is a Taiwanese s3. I cant find anything about it on xda and google only gives me chinese results. Is there root or cyanogenmod or at least official jelly bean availeble? OTA says there is no update... Its on 4.0.4 now.
here is the phone on pdadb.net:
http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=specs&id=3605&c=samsung_sch-i939_galaxy_s_iii_samsung_midas
Check samfirmware.com, if there's official updates they are there.
There is also root for it, unfortunately it's in mandarin chinese. But if you want to try here's a website.
