CF-Auto-Root
Hi all
I have I9100XXLPW firmware
kernel 3.0.15.I9100XWLPD-CL524746 ........
Android 4.0.3
Can I flash to I9100XXLQB or I9100XXLQ7 (Android 4.0.4)
(Stock roms from SamFirmware)
Thanks
yes, you can.
But it will not brick S2 right?

after flashing the new firmware, then change the kernal to siyah or similiar where the brickbug has been disabled.
Do not attempt to wipe with the stock 4.0.4 kernal, it may have the brickbug enabled.
Thanks I' ll investigate that

Hey everyone, I would like to know if after I've installed the JB 4.1.2 Stock Leak on phone I could just restore it by flashing a ROM using Odin (the ROM that you can download from Sammobile) or I need to do something else?
Note: I got Philz CWM 6 Kernel and root on XXSJ.
Sorry if it is kind a noob's question, but thank you for your help.

Yes.
But do I need to change the kernel or can I keep Philz's?

i think philz is for JB....
Anyone have tried?
I'm currently on 4.1.2 Rooted ChainFire
I just wonder if it is possible to flash the 4.2.2 stock ROM from sammobile with CWM?
Which means
i can keep the root while updated to 4.2.2
Because AFAIK, flash via ODIN will remove the root itself.
any respondse will be appreciated
Thanks in advance

all the ROMs on sammobile are Odin-flashable.
It doesn't matter what you flash it with - if the ROM is not rooted, then you'll lose root.
Get a pre-rooted 4.2.2 from the dev section

Click to collapse
The only way to do is with odin for mobile
what? no
No you can't

You have two options, flash with PC Odin, then root with CF Auto root, and flash CWM via rom manager.
Or you can flash with mobile Odin, don't flash recovery.img and check the everroot option this will keep root and custom recovery.
Hi I'm trying to dual boot 4.1.2 MG4 and I'd like to run a 4.2.2 ROM along side it as 4.3 is still new and buggy could anyone please point me in the right direction of what I use as I've only seen ones for dual booting 4.2.2 Samsung Leak. I'd like to use 4.1.2 BTU MG4 and pref paranoid android 4.2.2
Thanks

Search for googy max's dual boot kernel in the original development thread...

Does that actually work with MG4 4.1.2 when I was in the thread it says clearly that it works on 4.2.2 leak...

Nothing works with 4.2 leaks as there's no kernel source for 4.2.
It works on all sammy 4.1.2 and all AOSP 4.2.2

So I can use it with the 4.2.2 paranoid android and still keep my ROM will it mess up anything with my efs since I'm on MG4 thanks for the reply

It should be fine so long as you don't flash additional basebands from within the second rom.

How can I tell if this will do different basebands? And is old root ok for MG4 or is there a updated root sorry for the questions I was fine before MG4 came along I haven't flashed ROMs since

You can only have ONE baseband on the phone. Aosp roms don't come with a baseband.
Root as before
