Hello.
I have a question and hope I will get some answers. There is always a service running called XDMService or Remote Control.
What exactly is this service for and how I'm able to deactivate it completely?
Is this service might related to Software Update Service? Because I deactivated auto software updates and this service is still running.
Thanks for any advice

This is my first incursion into Android, so apologies if it's a basic question/has already been answered elsewhere (not that I could find it via search):
I have somehow lost the vibrate function
I have been installing quite a few apps & have rooted the phone, as befits my first contact with Android , also I conected via PC connect to the update service, and it downloaded an (outdated) update.
It may well have been while trying different profile managers - but despite enabling vibrate in the system menu, and in the profiles of the current profiles app I'm using (called Profiles), no joy.
All suggestions gratefully received
Tia.
responding to the onslaught of concerned posters
having got into the service menu, it seems the vibrate function is not working.
Doing some serious googling on the subject, this appears to be a RELATIVELY COMMON issue with this terminal - so be aware.
(mine has disappeared into SE technical service for a couple of weeks to get repaired)
What happened with yours? Did it get fixed? Anything we can do to fix it ourselves?
maybe try repair it with PC Companion.

Hi everyone,
I would like to know if exist an application able to call service mode (*#197328640#) query and manage this data.
I would like to trace mine signal strength (DEBUG SCREEN -> BASIC INFORMATION) and NEIGHBOUR CELL info and next relates them with the GPS position (longitude and latitude) and more.
Many application can't do it because they are using Android "high level" queries that doesn't report all parameters needed because wrong implementation of the phone makers (ex. Samsung devices).
Nobody can help me to understand how to do it with an app?One user solve it by himself but only for Qualcomm based CPU..
THANKS XDA MEMMERS!

Hi guys,
First of let me thank you for all the efforts and experiences you are sharing here, i have been an active user on this site while i was using my first smartphone technology an Imate Jamin and got a lot of help here regarding flashing the ROM.
I am a telecom engineer and read and browse a lot before posting this thread.
Each time i install an app, it goes under the service in the accessibility settings and you have to turn the service on so you can use the app. Fine, no problem for now, but the problem is that 5,10 mins or after a certain period, the service under accessibility seetings turn off automatically. I searched a lot for hidden apps processes or anything hat might cause this but didnt find any answer, even i went to a code development to solve this, i have attached a screenshot, any help will be really appreciated since as a telecom engineer i tried all the options available.
Have a good day all.
Hi everyone, just wondering if anyone else has had these issues? When I connect to my Citroen Berlingo Enterprise van via USB I get both the Android Auto connection in progress notification and another that says that the device is incompatible but charging is available. I also have issues with voice commands where the Google Assistant is unable to find people when I ask it to call them and will say it can't find places on Google Maps only for it to then find them and display the results. I'm wondering if there is something I've inadvertently activated in Magisk that could cause this issue.
Any thoughts gratefully received, unless they're off topic. Those ones are at best politely tolerated. ;-)

Hello,
I have the asus zenfone 9 , I bought this phone only because it had the native call recording service , this service is absolutely necessary for my work.
Unfortunately, after a few days it automatically upgraded to android 12 and this important feature was lost.
I installed dozens of apps, wasted a lot of time, has read hundreds of articles on forums and nothing has worked like tha native call recording service.
I decided to proceed with the root & unlock of my phone, with the unique purpose of getting the mobile phone to record again.
Can you help me>?
do you think this is a good idea?
Hi Nico.
The Zenfone 9 comes with Android 12 by default, it has never had 11 commercially.
Now you've unlocked your phone, when you don't need to. And maybe you've lost your warranty, because tech support is there to solve these problems, even on the phone.
We forget that when we buy a phone, the technical service is there to help us, that is what we have paid for it.
And now I belong to the Android 13 beta program and calls are still being recorded.
Maybe it can serve you to Truecaller.
on A13 zenfone 9 records calls very well. A12 also no problems
Same here, record option is present and works very well (Android 12 et and after the update to Android 13)
Do you use the native Asus contacts & calling app or did you install another app ? (if you did that then yes the call recording option is not present you must revert to the native call app)
The call recording function can be missing depending on your location (its illegal in some countries). Thats why its on some CSCs only for samsung phones.
My guess is that it was enabled for the firmware in the country your phone came from, and when it detected a different country for the update, it changed the locale of the device and removed the call recording function.
I don't see different locales for the firmware posted in https://www.asus.com/mobile/phones/zenfone/zenfone-9/helpdesk_bios/?model2Name=Zenfone-9 it says "WW/EU/RU/IN/TW" so pretty much the whole world.
Maybe the country spectific restrictions get in effect after the first time setup? Try removing the sim card, flash the firmware from Asus website above, do a complete factory reset and don't put the sim card or connect to wifi during the first setup, until you see the home screen.
