Looking for a quick bit of advise, my local Sony centre has the tab z in stock but I need a quick sale of my 1st gen tab. Looking on eBay they seem to be asking around £200-£250 cex are offering £101. Is it worth the cost and agro of eBay or is Cex's price fair?

£200 for the STS on eBay seems a little optimistic., but I may be wrong!
I couldn't get more than £150 for it on there, even in mint condition and no more than £180 for my used XTS.
£100 is a good amount towards the new device. You could always buy the new tablet, list the STS on eBay and see what you get for it. Start the auction at around £170 and lower the price if there's no bids in a few days.
Just my 2$'s.

I might be selling my galaxy player as I really NEED the money. I need a new phone. And some other stuff. Really really just need money right now. So I was wondering how much a used, like new galaxy player 5.0 can be sold for?
I might not sell it if the price isn't right so we'll have to see. I know I was working on an ics kernel but I can't do that right now. I have to much stuff going on. I have school, young marines, and any other side jobs i can find. And on top of that My grandma just got put in the hospital. So let me know if your interested.

It is worth as much as you can get someone to cough up, but most likely about half what you paid for it, if your lucky.

I agree! I recently sold my Samsung Galaxy 4.0 for $100 along with a case - it was in perfect condition. When I bought it, it was nearly $200, so I got just a little over half my original price. With so many new tablets coming out, along with rumored devices, it seems this player loses it value quite quickly. Heck, in just a matter of months, the price for the 4.0 and 5.0 has fluctuated a lot through such sources as Amazon.
Still a great little media player in my opinion, though!
I bought mine for only $135.00
I'd say a "like new" galaxy player 5.0 could easily be sold for £150 (use Google if you want in dollars)

Galaxy Player 5.0's are about $200's in the US for a new one at the store. I got mine for $180 tax included at Micro Center in California.
Id say $160.
In Korea, 16GB SGP 5.0 with decent quality (meaning very little scratch and no corner fractured) is worth around 160,000 WON
which is around $140. I don't know about US
I honestly think 150 bucks is worth it, considering you used it a year yet there's barely damage made

Check out Ebay's price trends. I'm not sure if this URL will work for you, but make sure you're viewing the trend for used condition.
http://www.ebay.com/ctg/Samsung-Gal...ayer-/109370806?_tab=1&_trksid=p2047675.l2644
Looks like you can get about $130 for it, at least on EBay.

Hi,
I've looked at through the forums and can't find a decent price to get my screen on my i717 replaced. I called Service Absolut (Montreal) and they quoted me 350$. I could go buy a new one for 400$ on kijiji....
Any other options? I'm not too confident in replacing it myself.

Condition pending ...
If the device has been "fully and properly" returned to stock software, and is in excellent cosmetic condition...
Then $200 may be a bit low..
But if you sell it rooted ....and it has a few scratches or marks on the bezels or screen, then $200 is fair.
Of course, it really comes down to the right buyer, and what they are willing to pay.
And for the record, I am an advocate of honest dealing between buyer and seller.
Nothing makes a person more upset than buying blind, and having their trust betrayed...
So if any issues exist with the device, disclose them up front ...IMHO ....g
Appreciate the advice and i believe in the same. ill ask the buyer what they want rooted or not. and I'd return it to stock. Also I'm throwing in 2 cases and a spare extended battery.

$200 is on the low end for a one in great condition.
You'll know if its too low if you get a lot of hits for it (Craigslist) and people want to buy it immediately.
Why go through the extra steps of rooting it? To me that makes the phone look like its been run through the ringer...

I would think thats a good price , BUT.. it's 2 weeks before Christmas....
People need their dough for other holiday giving.
It's going to sell when the right prospect sees it...
Youde probally have better luck getting more money if you wait till after the holidays..
when folks are ready to spend money$ on them selves..
IMHO.. good luck
yes, yes it is.to low.. but its market sell value.. here in bc canada 300$ is the bottom price.. but no one is buying when you can sign up for a 3 year and get a new note 2 for 200$

True, but its hard to get that price locally when people will constantly compare your price to the latest phone.
What i heard once; S4 is coming out so you should drop the price on your S2.

The only thing that would drive me away is I don't like reserve auctions. Instead of playing the hidden reserve game with your potential buyers, just be up front with them and set your starting bid at the very least amount you would accept (around $600-$625 I would imagine?), and set the Buy It Now price at the high end of what other eBay sellers are actually selling their phones for. Just my opinion of course. This will also weed out the less serious bidders who will try to low-ball you. If you're worried about missing out on bids, do you really want people who won't pay $600+ bidding on your phone, when you know damn well it will sell for at least that amount?
One more thing - be prepared to give a prospective buyer the IMEI number off your phone (if they ask for it) so they can check to see if it's on the AT&T black list. Of course, I'm not implying you're a thief or anything. I just had a friend that bought a used AT&T iPhone off of Craigslist. When he went to activate it, AT&T wouldn't do it because it had been reported as stolen, and I think the carriers share this list nowadays. So he now basically has a wifi-only iPod touch that no carrier will touch.
Noted, and changes made. Thanks for the tip. I hope my first time selling something on eBay goes over well lol.

Wow I didn't know that. Doing a quick google search, this looks to be a brand new change that eBay implemented on May 1st. You might re-think my strategy then. I didn't know they forced you to do that now. I'd feel bad if I screwed up your auction.
Yeah but I mean... Most retail places it's $600-700 plus I'm throwing in $100 urbeats that are HTC branded. I'm just gonna see what happens.

I have done well selling my phone's using buy it now or best offer. I usually list it for $50 over what I actually want. At $725 I imagine you would get offers for st least 650 if not more. If you can throw in a case along with those head phones you will get some pretty good offers. I had a job selling stuff on EBay for 3 years and rarely ever did an auction. If you really want to do a timed auction make it end on a Sunday night at around 9pm eastern time.

$55 if you sell for $550.
And if you use paypal they will take a percentage as well. I sold my old HTC one x+ on ebay after not using them for years and was shocked at how much they took from me on the purchase. I sold the phone for $365 and after fees from ebay (~$38) and paypal (~$15) I lost 15% in fees. My fault I should of checked their new policy but never again

Sold my unlocked TMo on eBay for $609 last month. Was used.
Missed it and bought another one locally for $450. Paid $10 to unlock.
Toss it up, take lots of photos, be honest about it's condition. See what happens. If it doesn't move, lower the price every 2 days.

Absolutely to much as sick as it seems , these phones have always been 580 new outright and now the s4 is also 580 new .
Just like with cars trucks anything once u buy it use it walk away with it the value is cut drastically.
They go for 425-480 roughly used now regardless if it's a day old or a month .
Think of it like this the price your asking is same as what anyone can buy it new at the store .
I've bought two ones ans one s4 paid well under retail, people will just look right past your price .
Good luck.

I have to agree I'm not gonna pay retail for a phone when I'm not getting the ability to return to tmibile or warranty plus not that you would but if the seller reports it stolen or lost also so for me to buy used the price Der has to be worth the tradeoff
