Hi all, i have had a Demo Lumia 800 given to me, as an old shop display.
For the life of me i can get the USB connection to stay connected.
The phone keeps dropping the USB connection into charge only mode.
I'm trying to flash stock firmware with NCS but it doesn't show a connection at all
is there any trick to making this phone stay connected?
I have all the drivers installed, it just keeps kicking into demo mode.
Painfull.

Hi, my phone just charges when I connect to any PC, it doesn't detect it on the system and even on the phone. I tried to check and uncheck the usb debugging and the logo came back on the phone (but still nothing in the PC). And now whenever i plug it in the usb debug mode comes and when I try to use mass storage option it allows but PC dosnt respond in a matter of seconds it goes away. My friend had flashed my phone with the stock rom 4.2.1 from XDA itself last year sometime in november and after that it has been great. I believed it was a cable fault so I showed it to a repair shop where the guys checkd with their PC and a new cable and none of their PCs detected it, even the OTG cable they tried wasn't detected on the phone. They say its an error in the Jack which can be repaired in a couple of hours for Rs 250. I have no problem in doing that but I don't know if its a jack error or something inside my phone (some sort of setting) causing it. Please help
hello guys
i recently dropped my ONE S and a truck roll over it. as you can imagine the display is completly shattered. now i want to connect it to my windows 7 pc (it gets recognized) but not htc sync.
i just want to know if i can/should repair the screen and still use it or if it is so badly damaged that i can throw it in the bin. i wanted to check via adb, but i have a stock device, no root/usb debuging on.
so i have no screen, no adb...how can i connect to it?
regards

Im unable to use my phone as USB Mass storage device. When i connect my phone to PC sometimes im getting as USB device not recognized and sometimes im not. I tried different PCs and different cables. ITs ONLY CHARGING
tried cleaning the micro usb port, uninstalling and reinstalling drivers in Pcs but it didnt work.
I switched off my phone, removed mem card, reinserted it, swithced it on again, connected my phone to PC(in sleep mode)
phone is detected as storage device and got notification in notification panel to select as charge only/files mode/ photos mode.
After ejecting and removing cable again back to issue. No detection. OTG also not detected. No Data transfers are being made but its only charging( even through Car USB port)
Anybody facing USB not recognised problem ? i hope its software related.
could anyone let me know of solution.
Thanks.
I am also facing the same issue
I thought I was alone in this issue.
Basically, my problem is, the wall charging and USB connect are reversed. i.e., I connect my wall charger, its showing as USB mode and when I connect the cable to a PC, its showing as AC Charging. I tested with Ampere app and when I connect to AC Charger, it is drawing only around 300mA(like it would do if connected to USB) and its drawing around 1.5A(like it would do when connected to wall charger) when connected to USB PC.
I have been having this issue for quite sometime and recently, I had upgraded to Marshmallow through OTA upgrade. I thought atleast this upgrade would fix this issue but I am still facing the same issue. I even contacted the customer care and nothing useful advice other than restoring to factory settings was suggested(which I tried and didn't work).
I guess it should be some software issue but don't know what it is or how to fix it. Any inputs would be welcome.
I bought an Asus USB-BT400 dongle for the PC which is pretty much kept on 24/7, I wanted to use smart lock with it as Trusted places is about as unreliable as paper shoes in the rain.
Once connected with the phone and added as a Trusted Device it shows my PC as Not Connected in smart lock. I have found that it will change to Connected if I transfer a large file over bluetooth from phone to PC, this keeps the phone unlocked but this isn't a realistic way of keeping the connection alive.
What am I doing wrong?
No one knows? I tried my Thinkpad laptop and it's also the same. Is a BT headset the only way for a phone to keep a constant connection?
I picked up a used A10e from the Metro by T-mob version (SM-102U).
Phone has been reset and in general works fine and is unlocked from the carrier. I swapped in a Verison sim and had no problems connecting to the different network. My issue is when I try to connect to the PC. I get a "Check your Charger Connection" pop-up and the PC doesn't recognize that anything is connected. Naturally ADB Devices does not find the phone.
Dev options are opened and I've tried with USB Debugging on and off.
I swapped in a known good charging port and port-to-main connector ribbon and the same thing happens.
I've tried connecting while in safe mode and same thing.
If I connect directly to a wall outlet no message and the phone charges at full USB-C speed.
I have a second A10E and the same PC recognizes that one just fine (where I got the working port & ribbon from to verify its not a simple hardware problem) so my drivers are good etc. Given the above and that the phone is in very good shape otherwise I don't think it's a hardware thing.
Would there be some software from Metro that would prevent the phone from connecting to PC? If so what can I do about it without rooting this guy? (I've spoken with Metro and they advised the phone is unlocked from everything on their end and they have nothing that would prevent connecting to PC...)
My intent is to get the junk cleaned off with ADB PM Uninstalls and get this phone in service asap.
All helpful suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
(as a follow up here, I've learned you can wirelessly connect your PC to the phone with ADB Connect however when I try that I get a response that the machine has actively refused the connection and does not give me an option on the phone to grant permission)
