Will Root Trip counter? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

Sorry This might sound dumb but my S4 is coming in Under 12 hours (YAYYAAYYAYAYAYAY) and i'm wondering does rooting it, since it does go through odin, does it rip the Counter, does the S4 have a counter, has chainfire released a bypass for it if so (update to triangle away)
Thanks guys!!

[Q] Flash Counter

Coming from HTC phones, I'm not very familiar with the flash counter. I know that there's a root method that won't trip the flash counter, but will flashing roms, like TPC for example, trip the flash counter? I'm trying to get a better understanding on what things will and won't trip the flash counter. Also, if flashing roms now will trip the flash counter, will there eventually be a method of flashing roms that won't trip the flash counter? I'm just wondering if there's any reason to wait or not when it comes to flashing roms.

basically flashing anything other than the system root will trip the flash counter afaik
And in due time, some one will probably find where Samsung hid it and find a way to reset it.

Unroot Sgs2. Reset Binary Code and Remove yellow Triangle

i am not lazy searching and reading for over an hour now but yeh im a noob.. i have a rooted samsung galaxy s2. running Hydrogen ICS. Getting all set up for galaxy s 3 and wanna sell SGS2 out. so i just wanna unroot it.. reset the binary code and remove yellow triangle. wanna install latest firmware available on sammobile but need a complete guide if someone could help me out thankyou.
Search harder.
Essentially you need to flash the appropriate firmware for your carrier/area in Odin and use a USB jig to reset the counter if you flash back to Gingerbread. If you are flashing back to ICS you can use Chainfire's Triangle Away app before the flash in Odin.
That's only a loose guide, but should help. There are plenty of guides around if you look hard enough.

Easy Method of rooting without increasing flash counter

Well guys as the title says itself, is there any safe, easy method of rooting S3 on 4.1.1 without triggering the flash counter and with stock recovery like CF Auto Root? But Auto root may trigger flash counter. So can anyone please tell anything about this matter? It's just i bought my S3 yesterday, not so snappy as expected, want to remove useless stock apps n etc but also want to be on the safe side.
Regards
rooting is completely safe. You can reset the counter later, because rooting in itself voids the warranty. But it's perfectly reversible, so you can revert to a fully stock phone with a zero counter.
If you are on the latest ELLA bootloader, the counter will be at 1 if you are rooted or modified in any way.
On older bootloaders use triangle away after rooting to reset the counter

Ok. I'll try and report back
Well guys i used Cf Auto Root and it worked like charm. Phone is rooted now

Quick question: will factory resetting also reset my Knox counter?

So i decided to root a couple days ago and when i went to update to 4.3 it gave me the "Custom" padlock. I care more about warranty than root at this point and will do whatever to get back to it. Dumb of me, i know. The only other way is triangle away but the boot loader hasn't been unlocked yet, has it?
Thanks.
My plan of attack is thus: reroot, triangle away, no wipe flash vrudmi1, accept ota.
In case anyone is wondering.
Once the knox counter gets tripped theres no resetting it.
Hit thanks if I helped you out. Doing a little bit of reading goes a long way. Sent via tapatalk.
I concur...

The "Custom" flag that shows up when you boot is not related to the Knox Warranty Void counter. You haven't done anything to trip the Knox counter so you should be fine. If you want to check it, start your phone in downloader mode and check the value there.
I'd re-root, then flash the no-wipe. That should clear the "custom" flag. If not, use Triangle Away. Then, once you're rooted on MI1, update to MJ7.

Still at 0x0, thank deity
rerooted and custom/padlock disappeared. flashed no wipe, uninstalled all my root apps, going to accept OTA.
Update: OTA took as if i had never deviated from samsung's creepily obsessive grasp. Hopefully this thread helps someone in the future.

I rooted a little while ago and tried to update to MJ7 but it did a flash check (i think) and gave me the padlock and wouldn't update. So i re-rooted the root de la vega for MI7 (which got rid of the "custom" padlock,) then flashed the MI7 no-wipe factory and removed root, essentially giving me a "clean/untouched" stock samsung. I deleted all of my root apps (supersu, rootchecker, barnacle) just in case the update checks for them and tried the OTA update. It worked.

Hopefully that helps. I'm not great at this stuff, just a script kiddie who follows guides.

I need to root and install CWM without increasing binary counter on my Galaxy S3 (Baseband Version - I9300DDUGNB1). Can any body help me in this bcoz i dont want to increase binary counter coz my mobile is still in warranty. Thnx in Advance
No, your binary counter will increase and nothing you can do will stop it. Afterward you could reset with triangle away, but each time you boot with custom recovery or kernel the counter will again increase.
Downgrade your bootloader to ICS version to prevent this, but it will still show 'modified' no matter what you do.
If you are that worried about warranty then leave it alone.
@boomboomer thnx for ur response..can u provide me step by step process to root my galaxy s3 & install Cwm with direct link...1 more question what is the mean of each time boot..did you mean every reboot??? Thnx in advance
