Cannot update to 2.1 (X10 mini pro) - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

Hello guys, I need help because I cannot update my X10 mini pro U20. I already tried SEUS and PC Companion but it indicates that I already have the latest software installed.
I am using Android 1.6 and was hoping to update to 2.1 but the above hindrance wouldn't let me. I tried also repairing through PC Companion but it says that no software is available for my phone?
Please help... I tried using flashtool but I cannot understand it really.

What did you try to do with flashtool? Did you find and download 2.1-firmware for your phone that needed it?
Using flashtool to update your phone is just as easy as SEUS or PC Companion, but without the restriction that you can't update your phone

What a weird thing, when I checked my About Phone setting, I saw it was updated to 2.1 without me knowing. But now I have a problem, I can't use my wi-fi. It says 'Unable to scan networks.' I read I should re-flash, but I tried using flashtool, I put the firmware files on the firmware folder but when I flash, I do not see any selection though. I installed the latest flashtool.... though I cannot find the flash.bat -> I don't know if that's the right .bat name

There is no .bat with flashtool, it's a User-Interface driven program, just start the flashtool executable.

Hy guys.
I've installed Froyo Cyanogen 6.1.3 but my phone is freezing and rebooting.
i'd like to know how can I go back to rom 2.1.
Thanks all

Sorry but i'm newbie.

seus is sony ericsson update service.you need to first download this from the se product site.Once you install and open this application on your pc,the rest of the work is very easy and explained step by step.go for it.another thing---in future before you flash any custom rom, backup your virgin 2.1 using xrecovery so that you can always go back to this opening condition when you are troubled by the custom rom you have installed.
do press the thanks button if this helps you.
Ok, sathkartha.
I'll try it and remember to do the backup. Was my first time and i forgot to do the backup when i remembered was too late.If it works i'll post the result here and press the thanks button.
Thanks
sathkartha,
so, I've made it and followed the intructions and the message that came up for me was:
"No new software is available for your phone. Your phone already has the latest available software isntalled"
Do you have any idea what I can do from now?
Thanks
@alloha----on that screen itself, you will still see a prompt encouraging you to install--click that and move forward.
should I downgrade to 1.6 to seus works?

The SEUS's version is 2.11.4.11 the latest.
I was using the PC Companion and when it says to disconnect, turn off the phone and connect again the message that comes is: "there is no version. try again later"
am i doing something wrong?

Thanks for the print, but it doesn't appear for me.
I'll keep trying. Any result i post here.
look at the screen which shows to me
shuold i put some archive in /system or /system/bin?
I think I see what the problem is here:
miniCM uses a modified build.prop so that neither SEUS nor PC Companion update the firmware at any moment, that's why your SEUS says that it doesn't have nay new software for you.
I'd say that instead of trying to go back to 2.1, rather try to do a clean install of any of the custom ROMs, and please do follow the instructions to the letter, most freezing and rebooting in custom ROMs happen due to not doing a factory reset before installing them.
@Akath19 i understand. I would like to go back to 2.1, make a backup and then install a custom ROM. Because I've tried to install a lot of time the custom ROM and this problem keeps boring me.
Talking about build.pro... there is some solution for it? like change this specific build.prob for another one that makes SEUS works?
ohh
you have to flash with the flashtool
because seus or other software couldn't flash it
sorry

[Q] Rooting with flashtool, clarification

Ok i need to know a few things.
Can flashtool root my x10 without any special PC Companion or SEUS installed? Because if so, sweet. If not, my life sucks for a while. Recent fiasco of this very laptop being naughty when i was trying stuff with flashtool caused me to have to jack a friends computer for a bit because he had working SEUS. So now im back to the start. If flashtool cant root my phone by itself, then are there any root APPS that work?(Unless im stupid, and downloading the default SU app from market will root.)

It is complusory for the drivers to installed before using flashtool. Therefore in short: yes you have to have PC companion to use Flashtool. Also I suppose you could use an app called z4root or something like that I can't remember off the top of my head sorry D:
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
It depends on the firmware. If you are runing .504 firm or under you can root with z4root. If it's higher you need OneClickRoot or Flashtool and installed usb drivers.
@Realorasz, didn't DooMLords' guide for manually installing the drivers helped for you. I mean the one which are in the Drivers folder in Flashtool.

[Q] Formatting using SEUS

So I have an x10i on a custom ROM with baseband .52. There is absolutely nothing wrong with my phone but I want to use SEUS to format to the generic 2.1 so I can easily install a new ROM. (I'm the type to start fresh and anew). It worked once when I switched to the ROM I currently have. I can't remember which baseband I was on back then, but it worked fine.
Now when I try to use SEUS to install the firmware, it simply says "No new software available for your phone" with no option to install the firmware anyway.
Any ideas/fixes and possibly other ways to do what I want to do?
Flashtool is even easier. Have you used it before and would you like help with it if you haven't?

Download and install pccompanion to get the correct drivers,.
Download and install latest flashtool.
Make sure you are rooted through flashtool.
If all else fails use pccompanion to repair phone.
What do you mean by getting the correct driver?
And how should i repair my phone through pc companion?
Thx

You need the correct drivers installed so that the computer can "talk" to the phone.
To use pccompanion, just download and install it (A quick google search will find it)
Then just follow the instructions.
When you click on update it may say you have the latest software anyway, dont worry, there will be an option to repair....
EDIT
whats going on here.... I am helping you in another thread where you say you are on wolfs v6 which is android 2.3
which is it..i cant help you if i dont know what rom you are on
So,I just need to repair my phone using pc companion and it will install the correct driver for me?
Thx
Dont reply in this thread.
I am helping you in the other thread..we dont need 2 threads to do this. I will only respond in the other one now
Sry for confusion..
I'm using V6 before this but the camera keep malfunction so i update it to V7...
It work at first but then i cannot enter UI after download the V7b4 update through appman...
So i try to flash back to stock 2.3.3 but my flashtool cannot detect it...
Then i flash back to 2.1 and that's what happening now...
What should i do?

Update Center 'Could not verify'

Hey guys,
Today my phone said the update 17.1.1.A.0.402 is available for me phone. But whenever I try to update it via Update Center app it downloads the firmware and then it's verifying and after a few seconds it says 'could not verify'. I tried to update via PC Companion, but PC Companion says there's no update for my phone. Any idea what's wrong?
My phone has a locked bootloader and it's rooted. I also got dual recovery installed. My firmware is stock, I only rooted it.
It wont let you update if you have a modifed Firmware
Dual recovery and root can be counted as modded firmware
You can use flashtool to flash a stock rom (include system only and exclude data wipe)

He used the repair function in PC Companion, which will wipe the phone and install the latest update.
If you prefer to keep your data, you could just download the 402 firmware FTF file and use Flashtool to flash it, then root the device again. Just ensure that you untick the Wipe Data option in Flashtool.
Yes. I tried to repair it and followed all the steps but it said the software had been changed after I plugged in the USB while holding the volume down.
I will try to flash. 314 using the other method. Currently have 402.

Your phone has a modified system partition. It is either rooted, unlocked bootloader of has recovery installed. You cannot update with ota.
