Nice Thank you Dread .

sent from a nuclear explosion
Thanks ..looks good
I will give it a shot.
Looks very useful.
Thank you!
Looking Good. Thank you Dread.
I have the following feedback & requests and would be grateful for your consideration.
I am seeing duplications on the "Category Def" view. Is this expected?
Would it be possible to add an option to kill on screen off with a user configurable delay?
I use Facebook for Android and would like to be able to kill it and its processes when I am not actively using it.
Would it be possible to have seperate lists:
White List: Do not kill.
Black List: Kill
Would it be possible for the lists to have the same look as the initial views. i.e show icon and friendly name and package name, not just package name as it is now?
Thanks

Yes, seeing duplicates in the "Category Def" is normal. What you are seeing here are individual processes for an APK. For example; you can access hidden settings by selecting APNs in com.android.settings or Advanced Settings in the same apk. I added this category in case you can't find the app if it isn't launcher visible.
Here is more information on it (Intent.CATEGORY_DEFAULT): http://developer.android.com/reference/android/content/Intent.html#
Right now there isn't an option to kill on screen off with a user configurable delay, but it may be something I add in the future if there is enough demand for such a feature.
All the other things you have mentioned are indeed possible and something I may end up doing. I just found it super convenient (coding wise) to have just one list and let the user select if it is included or excluded.

so it's not a must have then
There's no viruses for android so what's the point of a virus scanner
you could say if you downloaded files & transferred them to a pc you can scan them first but doesn't your pc have anti virus
Battery saving apps tend to actually slow the phone down - all they do is turn off things like wifi bt gps & data when the screen is off - but they take up system resources themselves & really not needed
there are only two tools you really need
boot manager to stop apps starting at boot - comes with some custom roms anyway
cache cleaner - to free internal storage
anything else is really just bloat and can be performed by android itself or your file manager like es file explorer in the case of cloud storage
This app is good but no virus scanner needed.
Btw nyc share

What is XBooster?
XBooster (Boost My Xperia™) is a tiny yet powerful app that boosts your device's performance. Initially, I made this app for my ROM users only and after launching my new updates of rom (also the app is updated to v2.0), I thought to share this app with all of you here on XDA.
Basically its is a kinda of task manager, but actually it does more than a task manager.
This new app comes with a beautiful UI and a handy widget. There are three profiles to boost your device i.e. Gaming, Multitasking and default. Choose between any of these and you are done.
* Gaming mode is suitable for game lovers. It boosts your device and make a more free RAM available to play heavy games. If you like to play HD games in your device then first enable Gaming mode from this app and then start playing your games without lags.
* Multitasking mode manages memory and give an optimum amount of free RAM. This mode is suitable for those who love to try and have installed several apps in their device. This mode lets you to switch between several apps in a quick and more responsive way.
* Default mode reverts back the changes that are made by this app (in case if you want to remove this app).
Also there is a Quick Boost feature available in app which kills some useless background apps and make some more free RAM.
You can boost your device from the home screen by using a beautiful "Boost" widget that comes with this app or you can boost you device from app drawer by launching this app and clicking Quick Boost button.
Caution: Boosting your device may cause some apps to force close unexpectedly. You may see some FCs of apps in Gaming mode (which is normal). So enable Gaming Mode only when you want to play games.
Note: Unlike other task managers that always reside in memory, this app doesn't leave any active service to eat your RAM ( as I already told that this is more than an ordinary task manager). So don't get confuse that this app will take some extra memory, instead, it will boosts some extra free memory.
* This app is compatible with/without a supercharged ROM but if your ROM is supercharged then you will get Super Boost.
SuperCharged ROM (supercharged services) + XBooster = Super Boost
Requirements
No additional requirement except a ROOTED device. :good:
Screenshots
See attachment for screen-shots.
Download Instructions
Make a complete backup of your device (as this app will do nothing with your ROM but take backup for safe side) and then install the app as normal apk.

This app is inspired from zeppelinrox's v6 SuperCharger script. So all the credit goes to him for inspiring me to develop this app. :good:
Also, thanks to all my Zelly Cream ROM users who suggested me to add new features and widget in this app. :good:
If you like my work then just hit thanks.
All the request/suggestions are always welcomed. :good:

Original Thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2180150
Hello everyone,
I'm in the process of trying to use the phone less and less. Therefore, I do not care if WhatsApp, Telegram, Instagram, Facebook and so on have any background activity.
Obviously, all those activities have been restricted. In the battery settings, I've noticed there's another option I can enable or disable: foreground activity.
I have a general understanding of what foreground means, but in this specific context I need some help. Can I disable this activity? I only want for those specific apps to check for notifications while I have them open. If I do disable foreground activity, the app won't connect at all?
I won't let any of those apps on my device. The were designed to be malware and data miners.
They are security risks.
If I can't logon and use a forum through the browser, I don't use it.
while I can, and probably will, stop using socials at all from my smartphone, I really can not do the same with Telegram and WhatsApp. I want to restrict these apps as much as possible, preferrably like they only work when I open them

Best course of action, in my opinion.
You could disable them when not in use.
I do that with Google Play Services, and Playstore.
You can keep them from having internet access with Karma Firewall, freeware that uses almost no battery. It may tone down their battery usage too.
Lol, they can't lead me, I can't lead them... so they can get the hell out of my way
Use this setting change to block ads globally.
Works pretty good.

Disable all notifications apk you don't need , from battery settings tick on "optimize"for all apk you don't need to be active , go to every apk info and untick "data utilization in background" and last resort in "developper settings " you have "limit apk activity in background " to minimum ( 4 apk) . What apps are good with root?
Some time ago when I used rooted phones , I appreciated :
- My.Android.Tools.Pro
- App Ops - Permission manager
- ROMToolbox Pro
- All-In-One Toolbox Cleaner
I'm afraid to use root due lot of problems like boot loop , freezed boot sequence , no OTA etc so I'm pleased till now only to disable apks I know from past , they are hungry battery . First APK is very interesting , you can see every apk how start , boot with system , tracking features , triggering wifi and data and so on .
