Flash back to stock, or if you prefer, stock plus root. Flashing the stock kernel with Odin will give you the correct button combo and mic and clear the I9100 boot screen, but will not reset the flash counter.

Need URGENT help please! :(

I bought a GALAXY S WIFI 5.0 - YPG70
i wanted it to put [KERNEL][CWM][OC&UV] rj's custom kernel for Galaxy Player 5.0 INTL (YP-G70) r13 in my device and ODIN said PASS in green and i thought it was done and then it started booting AND ITS STUCK ON SAMSUNG BOOT UP LOGO FOR 15 MINUTES,i bricked it!!
PLEASE help me how to make it work back, it was Froyo 2.2.
Search for threads on boot loops. That's what that is called, and there are plenty of threads on how to fix it

I think the instruction in that thread is for US Galaxy Player. Following that down to letter will really brick his device. He will need a ROM that match his international device.
He was trying to flash a GB kernel on a Froyo system, which is most likely what caused the problem. Reflashing the stock kernel on rj's thread will not help.
What he need to do is to reflash a stock ROM or some other odin ROM under development forum. If his device is an international YP-G70 5.0, these Odin flashable ROM should fix the problem.
Stock ROM:

With rj's kernel:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1446774
Now let's check if you can go to download mode (Home+power+vol down). If you can still get to download mode, then you should be able to flash one of the above ROMs.

I went from stock Froyo to a custom GB rom without a hitch... The issue here seems that he might have tried a US rom on his international unit... Also to get into Download mode is Vol down (-) + Power... Hold them both until you see the yellow download mode picture... then plug in to your PC to run Odin3...
On a second read... I realized the OP had put a GB kernel on his stock (Probably Froyo) rom... hence the bootloop... You need to get the entire rom package... Look for the threads that start with [ROM]... and not [Kernel]... and also make sure you are getting the right (International or US) rom for your device... Good luck

Few pointers on jelly bean flash

Hi all,
I'd like some clarification on flashing a new kernel and a compatible jelly bean rom on my galaxy s2, I've only flashed it once previously through ODIN with a stock rooted ICS rom and flashed a modem file via ODIN also.
I think I need to install CWM in order to access potential kernels, perhaps siyah or team skyfire? I'm not sure I like the idea of TWRP totally in case touchscreen was damaged and I needed to be able to recover the phone in some case.
I'm not asking whats the best, but there's going to be more people who have experimented more perhaps and can offer their opinion which would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

[Q] Help ! Rooting my SII first time !

Dear all,
I know there are multiple threads running for the same, but still i was not able to understand most of the way. Am having SII which is running on Android 4.0.4, I want to root my phone so that i can install Jelly Bean Rom available in the forum.
last i have rooted Galaxy Spica 5700, but it required flashing device with Odin and instillation of a new kernel. But it seems like many new things have came up. Can someone please post me Point by point procedure of rooting my device with ClockworkMod recovery.
Plenty of threads that answer this question in detail. No need for people to duplicate topics or answers.

If you know how to flash kernels via odin its simple. Just download siyah kernel for i9100 , install the drivers required fr odin , flash the kernel in download mode. It will give you rot access and CWM recovery. Then yo can boot into recovery, wipe data/cache and install any rom you want. But do not wipe anything n stock recovery since you are on 4.0.4 (which has the brick bug)
you can also root by stock recovery just by flashing a single .zip file. But if you know the way to do it by odin i suggest the odin mehtod.
and to flash JB....MobileOdin Pro.......so you'll forget about rooting with the EverRoot option........................beware of the wipes with 4.0.4 tho, that crap is nasty.

Flashing the original firmware via Odin does not factory reset the phone (unless specifically stated in the thread containing the files). It just overwrites the bootloader (depending on the firmware and phone), recovery, system, modem, etc.

Hi
How to re install my S2 with Jelly bean . Planning to install Kitkat in my S2 can you help with any good Download and install links. Its good to install ??? please suggest Thank you .. I will check your website
I'm confused on your goal. You want to install Jelly Bean or Kit Kat? There was no official Kit Kat for your phone, so it will have to be something custom like CyanogenMod, SlimKat, etc.
The latest official firmware for your phone would be here: http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-I9100 - Just make sure to get the one for your region.

[Q] S2 (I9100) Restore Stock 4.1.2 & Kernel & Recovery

Hello,
I've been digging around for a while search for an answer to my question and didn't found nothing concrete.
I have a S2 (version I9100 XWLSS) with root, latest Philz kernel+recovery and stock 4.1.2 firmware.
The goal is to go back to completely stock, including stock 4.1.2, stock kernel+recovery and unroot.
After reading a while, I understood that flashing stock 4.1.2 will unroot the device, is that true?
Regarding the kernel+recovery, how can I do it?
Is it possible to extract from an original 4.1.2 XWLSS dowloaded from sammobile and then flash the .zip?
Thank you in advance.
