Greenify! - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

I am sure many of you already know abt this wonderful app.. This thread is for those who don't know abt it!
It is definitely not my app, but I stumbled across this app referenced here in xda.. it puts any user apps in hibernation until you open them.. reducing background processes from what i can tell you guys so far..obviously every device is different as is every user experience, but i think its worth a shot..
here is the link
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.oasisfeng.greenify
There is also a donate version which lets you put system apps for hibernating as well!
Here's the link for that..
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.oasisfeng.greenify.pro
Give it a try people and don't forget to thank the owner and me if I have helped..

I've been using greenify with SHOstock3 for about 2 weeks and it really does seem to help standby battery life. I say yes give it a try!

Would you mind posting a list of apps you used Greenify on?

Beside the sound of latest version 4.4.x , do u think KitKat really performs well (stability and speed) over i777 default 4.1.2 ?

I have been having great results with the 4.4.2 roms Omni, Render CM 11 and AoCP 7. I am running renders CM11 right now. Getting AuTuTu of 12112 and no FC. they are all good just different features.

I am also getting decent performance with 4.4.2. Sometimes battery life not good but overall manageable.

Try greenify.. And if its the battery you have got with the phone.. I guess a battery after 2 years is bound to give lesser battery life.. If possible try getting it changed or get another battery and use this app.. I can assure you that you will get an improved battery life..

battery life?
bugs?
I can't really speak for bugs or battery life just yet as I've only been running the rom for about 3 hours.
When you hellraise a rom it replaces the kernal and modem that comes with the rom with ones that are compatible with the i777

I believe that the Hellraiser package contains Entropy's kernel. If you want the siyah kernel you'll have to flash that after the ROM and Hellraiser have been flashed. Just make sure that you get the version that is made for our phone (i777)
Just flashed it... now how do i get the english version lmao.... I don't understand the language
Edit: Nevermind, as soon as i sync google in corrected itself into english
Good to see that it worked out

A manual clean on boot can be useful for making sure you don't have wakelockers - but never use an autokiller.
Task killers are still necessary to have around for dealing with apps that hold wakelocks.

I don't know anything about GPU overclocking apps but I don't use juicedefender or a task killer and I get about a full day's worth of usage (14hrs+) on average with medium-heavy usage (3hrs+ screen on time).

[Q] [ROM][INFO]Qiss ME [ROM]

Finally installed the QISS ROM... To be frank its a battery saver!! Though its simple package but still has minimum apps to be working efficiently. I hav mentioned the pros and cons of the ROM below.
Pros
1. Light package just ~132 MB
2. Battery backup has gud standby ~ 1-1.5days
3.Doesnt hav much bloatware simple apps.
Cons
1. Doesnt hav much support for theme(MAy be initial stage)
2. Still a BETA version so except problems.
3.NO ONSCREEN BUTTONS.
Apart from these the ROM is really fast.. as ppl said it ll never go slow its GS2..

just wondering if anyone's gone back to ICS? I mean its not like we really need any 'performance boost'.. and with jb, we give up smoothness, and flash.. what do you guys think? that last ics release on omega is stable as **** lol. sometimes I wonder why I always mess with my phone when its working perfectly fine heh. I think the only thing jb brings is a expanded notification bar, and that Google Now thing, which looks cool and I feel all techie using it, but really does nothing for me but getting me all excited thinking i have friends thinking I have a notification ..

It's pretty cool, on the latest version of jellybean for the s3 you have multi window functionality. Basically I can have 2or more apps open simultaneously for instance browser, gallery and messages.

1 single quirk... the thread title still has Noe instead of Nov... it quirks me every time I see it..
I'm just about to go back to ICS after weeks of battling with battery life on JB ROMs. I used to have 90% battery left after a day in the office on CheckROM v3.5. Now I'm lucky if I have 70% (with the same apps installed, the same sync/location settings and Google Now disabled). I've tried CheckROM v6, various Wanam Lite releases, AnonoROM, Omega and none can come close to matching the battery life I had with ICS.
Back to CheckROM v3.5 I think....

Like I said it's 70% if I'm lucky, and have used the phone very little during the day. A few calls and I can easily finish with less than 40% to last an entire evening.

I'm going back to ICS this morning, just flashed LG1 and I'll apply the OTA LH9 update when I get the phone set up. I love JB, it's beautiful, but I hate watching the battery go down right before my very eyes after getting much better battery life on ICS.

Looking For Most Stable ROM GB/ICS/JB

I am currently using Hells ROM JB 4.2.1 but there are to many bugs. I got to work and my phone wouldn't turn on so I had to battery pull and when I turned the phone back on my battery was at 80% (was 100% before I left for work). Also, was on the phone two different times and phone randomly rebooted itself. The phone is for my girlfriend and I know she'll be complaining with these bugs present lol. I just want the most stable ROM for this phone. If there is a JB ROM that doesn't have these issues please let me know. Otherwise a ICS ROM that doesn't have any of these issues, or lastly a GB ROM since that I would assume is probably the most stable considering it was the last release VZW put out for the Fassy. Thanks in advance guys!
To me Team Baked blackbean 6 was most stable
http://goo.im/devs/BAKED/fascinatemtd/baked_fascinatemtd_blackbean-6.zip
And their inverted gapps
http://goo.im/devs/BAKED/gapps/gappsinverted-jb-20130118-tegra2-signed.zip
Their are some initial setup tweaks, but it's been great...
You'll also probably get some others mentioned,,,
,,,some phones work better with certain ROMs others don't,,,, kinda luck of the draw sometimes,,,,,,
,,, but AOKP MS1 was also very stable
Random reboots are gonna happen though some less often,,,
trying each one it's really only way to BEST figure out your own most stable ROM,,,
Just gotta embrace a little testing knowing their will be some issues and trial and error

Thanks for the reply. My girlfriend doesn't like change to much so let's see how this goes ha!
I'd suggest trying AOKP JB Milestone 1 or any CM10 or CM10.1 nightly. Personally the most stable rom I've ever been on was the CM10 nightlies
i was running the aokp pub build and found that it was a complete battery hog. i found google to be quite laggy with the pub build. now im running helly bean 4.2, the build that was put out a couple of days ago, and every thing is peachy. i havent had any reboots and only a couple fc's. im pretty new to flashing roms but this is what ive found..... good luck.
these roms have extended the life of an old device until i find a phone i like. props to the devs. you all are AMAZING!!!!!!!
I've been running Helly Bean 4.2.1 for a week or two now. I haven't noticed any major bugs, though, as it is the newest version, it does take up a significant amount of RAM, so just be ready for some lag.

I've never seen this option in Helly Bean. I've also never had this problem... What you could do, if you really liked ADW is continue to use it as your launcher on this rom, from what I've seen it can do basically everything any ICS+ launcher can do. Or you can try Nova/Apex launchers.

In the Boeffla Config, on the "Governor/IO" tab, choose:
Governor=pegasusq
Governor profile=pegasusq - boeffla battery saving
...or You can search on eBay a cheap "S3 i9300 2850mAh Gold battery"

Hi There,
I don't know how long you have had your phone and your battery, but it could be that your battery needs replacement. A good way to test this is to put your battery on a flat surface and flick it on the corner with your finger. If the battery goes spinning like crazy, it is an indication that it needs replacement.
