PSA: Location outage after update - AT&T HTC One (M7)

So I noticed that my location services are not working anymore. Because of this, I have to have GPS on in order for things like Google now and maps to find my location. Just having the network location isn't working. It seems I am not the only person with this problem. Anyone else wanna chime in if they have this problem? Or if they have found a solution?

I have the HTC One X on ATT, same problem..

Which update was this?

I think it was an update to Google now or maybe some sort of api update that Google pushed out. My phone hasn't recieved any updates from att

So I guess that's why my 4sq doesn't update my location properly anymore. I kept reinstalling the app, clearing cache hoping to fix it.
I assume he's talking about the latest OTA, version 1.29.631.17 on my Rogers device.

Fyi, this was resolved in the latest Play Store update. http://productforums.google.com/forum/m/#!msg/mobile/LEPcl9e3dYE/ETlSqoNXFFQJ
I got the update, rebooted and all fixed now

Can't download or update apps from market on 4G

I am having a strange problem on the Google play market store, whenever I try to Download or update an app on 4G it gives me a message saying "waiting for network" and it just hangs there and does not start the Download process but when I switch back to 3G it starts the download right away which would be fine if my 3g wasn't so dam slow...Can anyone help? I'd really rather not download over 3g, I have tried clearing the cache for the play store app but the problem remains. I am able to do everything(browse the net, stream video, etc) on 4g except download apps from the store...wtf?

A quick search on Google on this issue lead me to the topic below, seems like I'm not the only one experiencing this issue...is anyone on here having trouble downloading apps from the store over 4G on their EVO 3D?

I am. I thought it was from flashing ZR3DX. It stopped working right after flashing it.
Hmm interesting, mine stopped working out of the blue as well...I have been using mean Rom 3.92 for over 4 months and it was working fine until recently. Have you found any work around? Could it be something wrong with the Google play store and not our phones?
Sent from my PG86100 using xda app-developers app
Not our Rom or our phone. Some one over at the HTC EVO shift forums have the same issue. I say its the update. So what we need to do is downgrade the play store and break the damn auto update..... Any thoughts on how? :c

I'm trying to downgrade using a cracked Play Store. You should try too,

Delete the original Vending.Apk and replace with that one, reboot and report back to here.

Nope... It's a server issue :C

Don't know if it'll really matter -.-

I saw a Sprint Users.com forum where all sorts of Wimax phones are having the issue currently (OG Evo, EG4T, etc). Mine's been having problems since last night. I just disabled 4G and it immediately started downloading. Unfortunately 3G is horribly horribly slow in Raleigh, NC these days. Might as well be using the Edge network. Ugh.
researching varisous forums...multiple handset manufacturers, and multiple carriers. Google has been blaming Sprint, but I also see similar posts on Virgin Mobile and (at least one mention of...) Verizon.
Sprint
HTC Evo 4G
Non-Rooted
For me it works fine on 3g and wifi, but 4g is broken. "WAITING FOR NETWORK" is all it says. Been on the same Rom for the last 4 months. So Yea this is definitely not the phones.
update: I uninstalled all updates for the google play app and it downloaded perfectly. Now I honestly can't see how this isn't anything other than a bad update from google.
update: however this only works once per app since the market updates and then when the next app starts Bam! Waiting for network.

I started having the same issue today.
This issue is still happening to me and has been for over a week now with no solution in sight

Guys try uninstalling the updates as one of you mentioned but also go into system/app and delete MarketUpdater.apk. Copy it to your sdcard somewhere first. And after deleting reboot.
I don't have 4g and never used it but if your looking to use a version of Play Store that won't update that's the way to do it.

You can post on the Sprint forum, either start your own thread or post in an existing one:

They say no one from Sprint actually reads or cares about their user forums.
But at very least it gets the message out that there is a real problem.

Navigation crashing

So I reset my phone to 1.22.651.3 and didn't take OTA yet because I need to re-lock bootloader and whatevs, but whenever I use my navigation via google, the thing crashes after a couple of minutes. Anyone else have this problem? anybody have a solution? did this get fixed for you via the update?
Yes, I'm having serious crashing problem s too. And I'm on a long trip, so this real ly sucks. Seems to happen when getting a poor signal. Like switching back-n-forth from Sprint and roaming

.HTC Inspire Update

So I got this Inspire online, and it is having a problem with rebooting itself. I looked online and apparently there was a critical update that fixed this issue for a lot of users, and my phone doesn't have this update yet. I'm not yet able to do a Software Update due to my service not being activated on the phone. Is there another way to get this update from my phone?

Facebook download

Does anybody else have facebook build 140579 constantly trying to download. I cannot get it to go away.

I got that last night, just open downloads and delete it. Worked for me and it hasn't come back.

Apparently Facebook is going to be updating their app without going through the Play Store. I've read that a lot of people had problems with the download going though 3G or 4G but that it went through fine on Wifi.
And they want to do forced automatic updates. Not on my phone.

There's alternatives like OStream:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=am.ostre&hl=en
I don't really mind the facebook updates though. What's the big deal?
I just find it sad that they would go around the market and not tell anyone. It makes your phone slow of you don't get on Wi-Fi and get rid of it.

[Q] GPS Location issues.

So I've had this phone for about 2 weeks, Stock/Rooted.
It seems like I've only had GPS issues with AT&T phones, My HTC DROID DNA(VZW) doesn't have GPS issues and always shows me in Dover DE, My One however shows me in Houston, San Antonio, etc. I've disabled and re-enabled GPS services, several times, Mock locations are unchecked, Fast boot disabled, Rebooted a few times, even hard reboot. If I shut off google Location services, and use GPS data only, Maps gets an instant fix, as well as Where Am I? GPS status gives me 12/19 satellites, AGPS, isnt working. Wifi with Verizon FiOs, doesnt help it. I constantly get Cloverfield, TX. I've owned an HTC Vivid before and it did the same thing, It gets annoying because Weather, Maps, and location search gives me Texas. If i stay out of the house for awhile and I'm outside when it goes to push sync it'll get the correct location.
Running 4.1.2/5.0/ 1.26.502.10
HELP. This angers me greatly, If I have to swap from the stock AT&T rom, Can anyone point me to Sense5/4.2.2/ debloated?
Bumping for some insight.

I had the same problem today. I ended up having to do a factory reset and now it works fine. I'm not sure what caused it. People are saying there was an issue with a Google Play Services update.

Play Store Update to 4.1.10 was downloaded from some of the tech sites earlier today.
This worked for me so hopefully it's confirmed as the solution and we can put this thread behind us.

Also; on Droid DNA VZW, GPS has been flawless and out of nowhere GPS glitch. Updated Play Store to 4.1.10, reboot, but still no go. Thought I was on most current Maps, but apparently not. Noticed in My Apps the May 14 update and updated to 6.14.4...all is good again.
