So I got this Inspire online, and it is having a problem with rebooting itself. I looked online and apparently there was a critical update that fixed this issue for a lot of users, and my phone doesn't have this update yet. I'm not yet able to do a Software Update due to my service not being activated on the phone. Is there another way to get this update from my phone?

Yesterday when I turned on the wifi on my GS2 I've received a pop up msg saying there was an update. I clicked on cancel and then went to settings, about the phone, updates and tried to update...to my surprise there was no updates available.
Could this be a virus? I've ran AVG and Bitdefender and they could not find anything.
Are you sure it said there was an update and not that it wanted to check for an update? I had a similar one that fooled me for a minute..I guess its because I always live in hope of one....

Maybe it's an update for an app in the market?

Everytime I go to check for a software update it starts checking then goes off quickly without telling me if there was one or not. Any suggestions?

I was in the same boat as you. Check out this thread:

You can check the first and last post in that. The way I got around it was by activating my sim in another rezound and then swapping back into my original and it all of a sudden worked. Dont really know why, but i know another person got it working that way too.
I've always had problems with the DNAs sim card not being found but I've noticed this happening much much more than usual. Its annoying having to constantly restart my phone so it will recognize the sim. On the additional information about the OTA it says it fixes sim card problems, will it still accomplish this goal with a rooted ROM based off the ota?

I updated to the ota and it still happened to me. Just once. Went on my Verizon wireless account and changed device to the same phone, rebooted and all is well. Hopefully it doesn't happen again. Good luck!

It is supposed to fix the issue but I assume it only fixes a specific issue, so its possible you can still have the issue if your sim is dirty or broken. The update is just a radio so just get it and flash it.
Just a radio...exactly what I wanted to hear. Why download a whole new ROM if I can change up my radio. Thanks guys, if only there was a way to flash radios without fast boot:/

I flashed the new radio and have noticed that my sim card fails significantly less than previously. It still happens every once in awhile but not nearly as much. Just for anyone belse having issues

So I noticed that my location services are not working anymore. Because of this, I have to have GPS on in order for things like Google now and maps to find my location. Just having the network location isn't working. It seems I am not the only person with this problem. Anyone else wanna chime in if they have this problem? Or if they have found a solution?

I have the HTC One X on ATT, same problem..
Which update was this?

I think it was an update to Google now or maybe some sort of api update that Google pushed out. My phone hasn't recieved any updates from att

So I guess that's why my 4sq doesn't update my location properly anymore. I kept reinstalling the app, clearing cache hoping to fix it.
I assume he's talking about the latest OTA, version 1.29.631.17 on my Rogers device.
Fyi, this was resolved in the latest Play Store update. http://productforums.google.com/forum/m/#!msg/mobile/LEPcl9e3dYE/ETlSqoNXFFQJ
I got the update, rebooted and all fixed now

Ok I bought a broken AT&T Optimus G off of ebay and I just got it fixed today so low and behold it's still on ICS and not JB. So I tried to do a Wi-Fi update and it says that it's the latest. The phone is still carrier locked so that might be an issue. I'm not trying to dabble in the custom rom right this instant though.
you are going to have to call Att and asked them to push the update

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2389827You can also update manually if AT&T doesn't help you out.
