Water fell on home button. - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

About 5-10 drops, wiped almost immediately and heated with air dryer. Could it still possibly cause damage?

Does it work?
Sent from the little guy

Didn't seem affected, I'm just worried about issues coming later on.

Well, you can rice it up for a night.
Doesn't sound too bad anyway, don't freak out just yet.
Sent from the little guy

Sorry but I dunno what it means "rice it up"..?

Put it in a bowl with rice and lock the bowl tight.
Sent from the little guy

If you do suffer any problems, there is a good technique by dripping a few drops of alcohol into the home button which will clean up the inside and make the home button more responsive.
I've done that for my aging 5 year old iPod touch which home button stooped being responsive, and after that it felt like new again.
That is if you have any problems in the next few days.

Yeap, 99% alcohol.

I've had that before (got stuck out in a sudden downpour, sending a text for a pick up to save me walking). That was about 3 months ago, so far no bad effects

probably the only serious answer..?

Poor choice of words.
Goja, did you follow any of the advices above?

If course not

Yeah, obviously.

Of course you did.
Good luck.

If your not using your screen much which clearly your not then it is going to be something other than screen at the top, learn how percentages work.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
Actually it IS a known issue and there are a few threads on it already.
How is this an issue? Like Lennyuk said, if you don't use your phone that much, then obviously standby would be the nr. 1. power drain.
Actually, both arguments could be correct...
Unless the stock software is extremely efficient, and makes the screen somehow super efficient, then it would be normal for standby to be that high. Another point to note, is are you complaining about battery life? or just the fact that a number on some statistics is high and you don't like it?
The counter argument to that is, if you look at mine on CM9, cell standby is a lot lower. Make of that what you want.

Amazing thing is, the only mark I can see is a slight nick on the corner, but it's that small, it may have been there a while and I've just not noticed it, considering it's plastic, it's still very well built. Lol.

You're damn lucky, my tab fell once out off my hands and i already had a small nick in my upper left corner
Blimey! I must be lucky as it's no where near as bad as that! I'll post a pic in a mo...
Edit: It's more of a graze than anything else.

2 options... Or you are darn lucky, or i must be an unlucky person in technology... Broke my laptop, pc, and mobile in 2 weeks (hardware issues) and accidently dropped my tablet and had a pretty hard nick in it... but that's already a while ago
Mine dropped from 3foot up, needless to say it shattered the digitiser. Though, it did me a favour as now I have an all white tab rather then white back black front... Horrible design...
Sent from my GT-P7510 using Tapatalk HD
Wow. It feels really flimsy in my hands.
Like I could just snap it in half no problem.
Mine survived an 8 foot drop directly on the corner, and just has a small white scratch. This is just about the toughest non-rugged tablet out.
Anyway, it may be a little shock resistant, but it's NOT waterproof in any way lol, my first tablet Didn't survive Pukkelpop 2011 (if you don't know what happened on this festival, youtube it) the tab was lying in my tent and became a little moist, not really wet... Mother nature decided to kill it anyway but i went back to the store and told them what exactly happend and they gave me a replacement...months later... after a horrible story

Dimple on back of HTC One? Normal?

Does anyone else have a dimple/dent that goes from the bottom of the rear camera to the AT&T logo? Its like a line dent.
Thanks
Nope
Nope... Let me guess you didn't do anything that will cause it?

I'm not sure how that would happen from a user.

Thats the way it came.. I guess I could take it back to AT&T and have them pull out another one to compare and return it if the other one is not dented..
A guy at best buy said it had something to do with teh 0 space deign or something.. I think he was full of it..
I have a random dent/dimple on my HTC One on the right side of the back; I never dropped the phone or anything. It's my work phone so I'm not going to go jumping through hoops for a replacement because I have a case on it but if it was my personal device I'd be exchanging it in a heart beat.
I have strange, antenna like structures coming out of my One's earphone jack, and they seem to be watching me, spooky.

lol
I had three of them around the camera. Looked like zits. I took it right back in to best buy and exchanged it. The new one doesn't have it. So if you got it I'd recommend an exchange.

I went to AT&T on the 15 th day thinking I had plenty of time. Guess I should've read the receipt. I was thinking I still had 30 days to return it,, Oh well. It's not that noticeable, but I know it's there, so it bothers me a little..

Display messed up.

Just took the phone out of my pocket, and the screen looks like the attached.
What's going on. Phone and touch screen still work fine.

This doesn't show what I see. I'll have to take a picture with another device.
Here's a photo. The entire display is messed up, particularly the Upper right. Tried powering down. No luck.
Your screen is broken. Sorry to make fun but lol at you trying to screenshot a broken screen, haha.
Hopefully you're still within 6 months as HTC replaces for free if I'm not mistaken

Isn't the HTC Advantage only for cracked screens? If it is I see a date with a hammer in your future.
Let us know what they say and I hope it works out for you. It appears that the LCD connection has come loose. Have you dropped your phone lately?
No. No drops, jarring, or anything. Screen is not cracked or damaged in any way, and touch works fine. I'm using it now.

Honestly, I can't recall anything I did that would have caused this, so I'm a little puzzled. Anyway, I'm shipping it back to HTC under warranty. Should only cost me $19.
Good to hear. Happened on a phone I had once. Likely pushed up against it when it was in your pocket and never realized it.

FYI, replacement device is on the way back to me from HTC with no hassle. I returned my original device to stock, factory reset, and re-locked the bootloader before I shipped it back, but left it S-Off.
Well, I received the replacement device today and it doesn't vibrate. Looks like I'll be shipping this one back too. Don't they check these things before they send them out?? I'm beyond frustrated at this point.

Z2 - Flickering display

Bought a used Xperia Z2 today. Having owned 2 in the past, it was very stupid of me not to check it throughly, anyway I paid the guy and went home.
It was on 5.1.1, so as I was setting it up, I lowered the brightness a bit, and immediately the bottom of the screen started flickering, it also showed weird multi colored lines and it only happens when the phone is NOT on full brightness.
Even if I adjust the brightness slightly less than full, it starts flickering again.
This is the phone at full brightness.

These two are less than full brightness.
What could be the problem and how would one go about it?
P.S: I texted the seller and he advised a software upgrade. So I flashed the 6.0.1 FTF and it's still happening.
Any replies will be appreciated.

Buyer also idiot.
Damn.
He isn't being helpful and told me to pi** off in a very kind way.
Guess I'll have to dump this and lose money on it.
Thanks for replying.

Update: He has the cheek to reply after being rude and says, it's a software problem. Then when I told him I flashed a new FTF and did a factory reset, he says have it checked out by a phone repair guy.
Then he turns his phone off. :/

I tried my last resort thing.
Opened up the phone, took it apart, put everything back together and the problem went away mostly, but it's still there sometimes.
Guess I'll actually have to dump the phone then.
