I was wondering if there was a factory image for Verizon gs4 yet. I always like to keep it on hand just incase something gets messed up or needs time be sent back to Verizon. Root removal and stock Rom.
I too would love to have one on hand, and would be really awesome if mobile Odin could be updated to make work on gs4

Another confirmation that it works. Someone really needs to turn it into a new thread.

making a thread for everything is pointless when the additions can be made to threads already made, that's the whole point of encouraging people to comment in the proper thread instead of making a new one.
@jjc5891 your post is good if you want to do either of those things individually but if you want to go completely back to stock is easier to just use the odin file from da_g in case of brick.
I just got Sprint's S3 and it's wants to flash and OTA update. If I want to root later will this update block or prevent me for something later or is ok for me to let it flash???. Patience goes a long way my man.
Yes, you can accept the update and still root your phone. Just follow TeamEpic instructions exactly and you'll be good to go.

First of all, answering would only encourage posting in the wrong section to get answers quickly.
Secondly, your question was already answered. What did you expect me to help with?

the new software is automatically downloading. how do i stop it or do i have to quickly root and unlock the bootloader before it downloads and installs?? what are my options? i turned the phone off in the time being.
im new to android as i left iPhone so explanations might have to be easy for me to understand lol
You can pull the Sim card and root and unlock first. Or defer the update and root and unlock. Once rooted if you want to stay stock freeze or erase the system/SDM.apk and that will stop trying to send you the update.
how do i defer the update it seems to automatically be doing it?

Shut it off, pull the battery and SIM card. Power it on
If it already downloaded it should ask to install or defer. Defer and root immediately.

Sorry I'm still pretty new to xda and root stuff so I don't know what the dev section is. Could you send me a link?
I'm still pretty scared of breaking this phone.
