Hey Guys,
i have to ask a new Question again.. (And because i'm not allowed to ask it in the X10 Mini Pro MiniCm10 Thread i have to aks here..):
Since yesterday i'm trying MiniCm10 on my X10 mini Pro, and for the moment everything is good except off the battery.. The Battery is going low very quick.. Even if i don't use the phone..
Is there something i can do to make it last for a longer time?
Thanks for you help
have you enabled undervolt an governor "on demand" in the cpu settings?
btw, one of the problem of this phone is the very little battery, and the new version of android are more heavy on the battery...

First I would check if the phone is sleeping properly, which is not always the case with MiniCM10. If you turn off the screen it should go to sleep in about 10 seconds, and if you press the back-button when it's asleep it won't turn on the screen. If the menu- or back-buttons do turn on the screen then it's a sleep problem. Try disabling running services (everything apart from settings and keyboard should have no adverse effect on the running of the phone). If that doesn't help maybe wiping everything and re-installing the ROM could fix it.

No, i didn't tried.. But if i understand the wikipedia-article concerning undervolting correct, it can force errors? I'm not sure if i want my handy to make calculating-errors...
@SmG67, I'll check this tomorrow, when i have to leave my phone without the possibility to charge it again for the whole day..

No error, maybe reboots if you use undervolt with overclocked cpu frequencies

The processor won't be undervolted on anything above 604 Mhz, only on frequences lower than that. The undervolt module doesn't use unstable voltages anymore, the only trade-off is that stepping up through the frequencies takes a bit longer because the voltage needs to be ramped up too, making the phone slightly slower. So there is not really any harm in enabling it.

No, it won't let me go higher than 993 mhz
if decrease the clock speed to the max of 600mhz,will it save more power?
yeah tried as well and the max is 993mhz. weird
(unless i'm missing something, I never used setcpu before)
I use OverclockWidget for my wife's X10.
Off screen frequency : 250~384
On screen frequence : 576~1000Mhz
it work like charm !
but your not going over 1000mhz? not overclocking

Well, I just leave it set to "ondemand", so that way it will automatically adjust the speed as needed (Max: 998MHz, Min: 245MHz). My max is 998MHz.
what firmware we can use? which is highly recommended? R2BA026?
SetCpu and more, can we use Juice defender to increase autonomy

you know the phone does that anyway right?
I don't speak French so I can't comment on that but I've been using SetCPU since the 020 root and it SEEMS to work alright. Sometimes when I open it, it says something about failing but then it works OK.
I'm currently on R2BA026 rooted and it works for me. I also use JuiceDefender but to be honest I'm getting more and more convinced that's not helping any more. JuicePlotter in particular is struggling and keeps stalling, with gaps in the graph frequently, not sure why but that's not relevant to this thread so I'll leave that.
But I do NOT use it to overclock and would not recommend that! For a start, it would cane the battery. Rather, I use it to "throttle" the CPU speed. I think that's what most of us use it for. E.g. when the screen is off, it stops the CPU working too hard (and thus saves battery). Also when power is running low, CPU is throttled to save it. By throttled I mean "restricted to 245Mhz".
It's free to XDA members because the dev kindly put it up here somewhere for download - if you're looking for "how that works" on the Market, stop now because that's not how it works! The Market doesn't give you a discount for being on XDA.
Just search for it on here, or wait for someone who has used it to point you in the right direction. I'd search for it for you but I'm about to head out.

I've used SetCPU for a few weeks and now I've been using my X10 without SetCPU for a few weeks and I've noticed zero difference in power consumption.
I'm guessing Android does a fine job itself at downclocking the CPU when it doesn't have to do heavy tasks.

Same here. i just uninstalled it and my phone is also more stable.
First of all, I'll try to explain the situation:
I was using my X10a with the stock 2.1 2.0.2.A.0.24 firmware with root and JIT enabled (yeah, I like to use my Sony Ericsson with Sony Ericsson's software). And everything was fine, I had the software mod to enable dual touch, so far, so good.
Then, I heard about this new 2.1.A.0.435 build with some improvements on Mediascape and overall performance, not to mention the official dual touch support (that is a bit better than the unofficial). So, as my X10 is Global Generic, I decided to update my software with SEUS. After updating, I rooted my phone and did the same things that I did on the other build (enable JIT and install Sysctl), but this time, my battery was draining like more than 10 percent an hour no matter if it was idle or in use! So i started investigating what was draining my battery and by monitoring the CPU use with SetCPU, I noticed that the CPU was always working at 998Mhz and before, it usually went up to 998Mhz, but when idle, it stayed on 245Mhz. With .24 build, it usually stayed on 245Mhz when idle, but with .435 build, it ALWAYS is on 998Mhz, even when idle! Sometimes, for less than a second, it goes down to 245Mhz and immediately up back to 998Mhz. I've tried many things, but the processor clock is always on top. SetCPU can underclock it (I can set both sliders to 245 and it will show that the CPU is on 245), but I don't want to use a slow phone to get the same battery life I got with the other build! And I checked with SeePU the CPU load doesn't change the clock. Even with low cpu usage, it keeps the 998Mhz clock.
Anyone has got any suggestions of what should I try now? I already updated with SEUS, repaired with SEUS, flashed the Stock .435 ROM downloaded from this forum but the problem persists. Any suggestion to solve this battery drain problem is welcome.
Thanks in advance.
Now I see how useful it is to post a question in this section of the forum.
Use Set cpu profiles, I.e. when The screen Is off the cpu should be at the minimum settings, with the highest priority.
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
Yeah, this is a fix. But then, to have the regular battery life, I just have to let my phone idle at all times and not use it as before? And by the way, by the time I said "how useful..." I already found that an app was draining my battery life. The app was Turn Silent. It kept my CPU at highest clock at all times, making even charging the phone a hard task. I just went back to Flip4Silence. Now my CPU stays at 245Mhz at most times.
Still I see that posting in the right section of the forum is useless. If I posted this thread at Android Development, people who get to understand what makes Android bump up the CPU clock would certainly at least investigate what might be happening. Well, it seems that build .435 is better, but it allows the CPU to stay at full clock more than needed. And the SetCPU fix really meant a great deal, but to get longer battery life, I have to "avoid" using my handset. I hope someone join me in this thread and help me investigating what's wrong. I'll try this new firmware released by Rogers, since it has a new baseband and possibly a fix for that CPU management issue.

I installed cyanogenmod 7 on my Legend a few weeks back. It was running ok, today I thought about overclocking it. I had overcloced it before to 745 (or something) and it had worked fine so I thought about overclocking it to 850 (or something). As soon as I did that, it hanged for a while and then restarted.
Now everytime I start it, it restarts before I can do anything. All i managed was to enter the performance settings menu, but I cannot reach far enough to reset the CPU settings (it restarts)
Is there any other way I can reset the values, some file or something. I really don't want to reinstall everything.
What program are you using to over clock. Funnily this happened to me when I attempted to Oc (using setcpu) my legend to 864. However I installed the setcpu widget and I was able to change the speed asap. Maybe if you pressed fast enough then you might be able to restart before it restarts. But if all Is lost then factory reset is the way to go.
Sent from my Legend using xda premium
I was using the cyanogenmod 7 performance settings (settings>cyanogenmod>performance>cpu settings).
But I managed to reset it. I took out the memory card in hope that it will give me more time to reach the settings, and when I opened the CPU settings it was set to 600 MHz. looks like the settings were stored in memory card.
Hm
For future reference, don't check "restore on boot" until you know it's stable
Hi
In my case, overclocking is possible up to 844mhz, but I have reboot after few minutes. Max stable value is 806mhz (for me).
Maximal frequency depends of phone, every Legend are different. For one max is 768, for other maybe it 864.
Greetings
Sorry for my language
gosh... reading this post brings memory the last time i was messing with the performance thingy.... have to wipe my legend to get rid of the OC setting was my fastest option... but lost my unbackup data.
well you can try flashing your rom without wipe and hope things got back to normal.
on oc testing
my advice is this.... do your nandroid backup before doing OC testing...
if you have setcpu for OC testing... dont use the main bar to test oc...
but you can have setCPU to OC if certain condition like charging the phone is meet.
then if your system gone nuts just unplug the usb (not charging) and it will go back to main setting.
if you are using cyanogenmod performance setting.... do as TGF say.. do not set on reboot before you are sure that the system is stable...
plus you better nandroid backup first before messing with your phone...
My phone runs stable at 787............and I'm quite satisfied about the performance. But only because I have the power to, I'm thinkin about trying higher frequensies. Should I? Or it is an unnecessary risk?
Also, is there any preffered way to "try out" the performance once you set a new Max MHz?
I just installed CM9 beta1 and I'm having troubles with the overclocking. I tried the 768MHz but it freezes after a few seconds. Is there a way to overclock to a specific speed? I saw a while ago some guy saying that at aroung 728MHz it does a great job. I have kernel 2.6.35.13-htc-msm7x27-ics.
I got a bug, don't know if it's related to the ROM or the overclocking but when I set the minimum speed to 19MHZ, like on stock Legend, when I tried to wake my phone, it seemed to be stocked at 19MHz, so I couldn't do anything, had to take battery out. Happened to anyone else? It happened to me once since yesterday.
overclocking
I'm sure most of you probably know this but just in case..... If you get a program that allows you to see your logcat (google them) and clean the log of errors by removing problem apps or limiting their permissions. The result is you end up with a much more stable OS and you can then overclock a lot more heavy handed. With the changes, I very rarely have any problems and run at 864mhz. Hope it helps

Hello Guys
My Mini Pro(sk17) is rooted and i´m using MESA Kernel(Smartass V2), i´m on stock I.C.S
I noticed that Android System is about 40, 45% on battery drain.
I´ve read a lot of things, added some lines at build.prop, but no sucess... its still about 40. 45% of my battery drain.
I´m already using 2g, screen bright very low.
I remember i checked that before flashing MESA that the android system did not drained battery like this....
Is this normal? Is there anything i can do?
I dont use any task killer, my CPU is set to 134mhz to 896MHZ( so is underclocked!).
Any help?

I/O Scheduler has no effect on battery life.
The problem - ICS. In the ROM, there is a bug, after charging via AC(wall charger), phone's Android System uses a lot of battery. Why? It's a bug in the ROM, that we haven't found.
How to fix it? Restart after charging.
And there is already a topic about it. Use Search next time before making new topic.

Try setting your minimum CPU freq to 250MHz. It actually uses way less juice then 134MHz!
EDiT: regarding what someguyfromhell said.....
I've never experienced bigger batt drain when charged AC as opposed via USB?
I'll try to reproduce that effect though...

That should do it.
If not, try another kernel.

Changing kernel, governor and frequencies, now my battery last charge was on sunday night, and still got plenty battery for today.
I use kamarush v2 kernel, and it is the best kernel for me.

Hey Guys.
I recently had a question about going back to stock firmware and kernel. Because my phone had this strange reboot problem and i felt going to stock would fix it.
[Q] Need Help - Can I Safely Go Back To Stock ROM And Kernel?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1978781
I did manage to get myself back to stock in the end
(Lots of thanks to Dzufa for his consistent help)
But now, my problem still persists and I felt it should be in a different thread.
My phone will just freeze suddenly and reboot whenever I do most things.
Normaly always while im using internet, or charging.
Example..
Even simple texting while charging sends me into a bootloop(3 or 4 loops before it stops)
Or using the internet for about 15mins.
If i use the internet WHILE charging. It lasts no more than 2 mins before a loop.
A common side effect of this, is loss of data(which is the biggest problem about it really)
It deletes all my texts, contacts and other info. (sometimes even when i manualy turn my phone off, or when it runs out of charge)
My Question is,
Does anyone have any knowledge about this problem? Any ideas why this is happening? and most importantly, is it fixable?
Thanks anyone who replys!

Hey dude,
try to check your CPU temp, you can use rom toolbox to do that. See attached sample picture.
Some phones cant more than 45 C, and it will automatically reboot once this temp reached!!!
And then reduce you max CPU Freq to +/- 500 MHz, and check the result.
Also defective battery can produce this kind of reboot.

Hey man sorry i havnt got back to you sooner! Alot of thanks for your reply =D
Ive been keeping an eye on my CPU Temp (Battery temp? I dunno, just finding general temp)
I downloaded Rom toolbox, but i cant see where that attachment is located?
Like.. how do i find out that info? I downloaded something completely different for CPU temp because i had no luck on RTB.
And, Reduce my "Max CPU Freq" to just 500? Wouldnt that like.. seriously lag it xD
Thanks for your help man, I definetly believe your on the right track with it being the CPU overheating.
Ive been underclocking it at 798 or something and trying to keep my phone cool.
Definite progress! Still cant charge at use net at same time tho, but im getting general good internet use now =)
If you could help me out with that RBT cpu part, id be greatful.

For all that have reboot problems with 3g internet I will reccomend to change this line in build.prop in the system folder:
ro.ril.gprsclass=7 and then reboot.
If You do not have this line, just add this.
Normal setting have a value of 10
In some cases some of x10 have a bug with full 3g. It is a hardware problem. Some x10 works fine but there some witch have a problem with this. Changing this value from oryginal 10 to 7 makes less power consumer and less hot your x10. Also change this value make a slowest transfer with 3g network but this is not a problem.
I try defferent values. I try 9,8 and it was still problem and my x10 was hot and reboot. With value 7 is stable. Where Your problem are still in time
Try change value to 6.
