I have taken the e975 international Optimus G official rom by avatar and ported it to our AT&T E970 until they make an official build for us. this rom is pretty bad. the theme options are much like Miui and they have many great features built into it.
Go to their website for the full low down on the rom and to request new features and themes and if you are a themer please make some of your themes available on their format.
Avatar Rom
I'll add the full details later tonight i'm in a rush for a BBQ and cold beer this afternoon but saw the avatar admin said i could post this port up and wanted to get it out to you all
I used our CM10.1 as a base so its using the cm10.1 kernel and any other kernel that ran on it should run on this but i have not tested it yet so beware and make backups
I used BANKS Gapps and have had no problem yet.
*****Known Issues****
- jb calling bug
- on initial install the external SD isn't recognized (I used the SD card fix from when codefire and others didn;t see the sd either. the link is below and i'm working on a permanent fix this week
-a few of the about phone/rom info is wrong. i'm also fixing this later this week
**Install Instructions**
1) Download the rom, gapps, and SD card fix from below and place them at the root of your SD card
2) Boot into CW and make a nandroid. i also recomened using Titanium to backup your apps
3) Wipe dalvik cache, system and do a full data wipe as well
4) Select Install zip and choose the rom file
5) Install Gapps if you wish
6) Install the SD card fix
7) Reboot into the ROM and let it boot up
8) boot into CW and restore your data if you so desire.

Google restore
After flashing this it doesn't give me the option to restore from Google during the setup wizard. All the other ROMs do.

I can't seem to get SD to work . . . ? Anyone have any directions on how to do this? There are different files and methods it seems
I ditto the fellow above me here. I have tried to follow that guide and I can see my SD card in file manager. But in system > storage there is only internal recognised. No option for SD/external/added memory. Kinda want to see my giant gallery from my 64gb/32gb cards.

what happened? Anything new on this rom? Really liked a lot of the features, but need the bugs ironed out. Not upset, just checking in is all
Just messed around with this rom on my Galaxy S 2 and I gotta say . . . I would LOVE to get this up an running. Here's hoping you keep up the fixes.
Any plans on updating to newest version of the rom? Or is this one dead?

Hi: I've been enjoying using the CyanogenMod for a couple of months now and love it. Thanks to all who created it and continue to improve it.
I simply want to upgrade to the latest stable version. Here's what I "think" I need to do. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could verify the same.
1) put zipped flash onto root of SD Card
2) Backup phone using Titanium Backup
3) Power off phone and choose "recovery" shut-down option
4) Choose zipped flash from sdcard
5) Wait for flash to complete
The other options on the reboot menu include among other things: Wipe, Mounts, Other. I've read in other post that it's a good idea to wipe dalvick-cache. Should I do so - and am I missing anything else?
If there's already a thread out there that walks one through these steps, I was unable to find it - but would appreciate being pointed to the same.
Thanks in advance for your help.

If you are goin' from froyo or other ROM you have to wipe ALL. It means Data (format system)/Cache/Dalvik Cache/BattStats . If you are goin' from earlier CM7 then wipe Cache/Dalvik cache/battstats.

Now then guys... i am thinking about rooting my phone to put jelly bean on my samsung galaxy s2 .... i was just wondering views on which is the best one to go for ( LINKS PLEASE ) and is it easy to do you know the usual questions you will have heard them before lol IM A NEWBIE !!!
Cheers People
Download Siyah 3.5.2.
http://www.gokhanmoral.com/gm/2012/07/29/siyahkernel-s2-v3-5/
Tar for Odin.
Then use this guide.
http://www.androidauthority.com/galaxy-s2-i9100-root-android-4-0-3-ics-xwlpd-88120/
Nevermind it says Cf-root. I flashed my Siyah kernel that way.
After that, flash any rom you want in recovery. Just do a Nandroid backup in recovery and backup apps with Titanium backup from Market!!!

Don't restore apps after flashing newer ROM, cause your phone will bootloop.
Better create text file and write names of installed apps.
Im not sure why everyone is worried about backing up there apps ive flashed about a 100 roms and never had to back them up cause if u go to the play store under my apps there always there
Infact there are apps there id forgotten about just pick which ones u want and re install .some roms auto instal them for u .make sure you have a google acc obviously!

Only if the application is on the external memory card then it's backed up there. Otherwise they'll loose the data if that's not the case.

If you restore from google play, you loose all your app settings and you will have to reconfigure each app.
Also, Google Play will not show apps installed offline (apk)
Restoring app data with third party app like titanium backup is safe if app is compatible with the target rom

in order to install a perticular custom rom , all u have to do is to follow the install instruction's of the same in there OP. and the same applies to all other roms also.
since installation instruction do vary from one custom rom to another
Jasper, you are better to read up on things so you are familiar with the processes of like rooting/kernels/roms/cwm/Odin/troubleshooting.
I understand reading 1000s of posts is tedious, but you could end up with a non working phone.

Hi!!
I'm new to this world of roms and roots, and after installing Crdroid v12.0 a week ago, the new version 13.0 has just been released.
I just wanted to update the Crdroid ROM from v12.0 to v13.0. Could anyone help me do this? How do I need to do this? What are the neccessary steps, and does it mean i will lose all the data on my phone?
Thank you!!
Just flash it over your the older version. No need to do data wipe.
Isn't there a section in the Crdroid rom thread that tells these things?

You boot into Clockworkmod and choose install zip from sd-card. A directory opens, choose the rom to flash.
Now, because the rom has aroma options, you have to choose the things you want and don't want to install.
Btw there's a Thanks button.

If you switched to a 4.2.x rom you wont be able to restore anuthing due to where 4.2 roms store info... due to the multi user modes.

I'm confused, what ROM are you on and what ROM, are you wanting to go to? as far as your pictures, all that is so on your sd card and will be if you flash that zip fin the cm10.1 thread. They are just stored in different directories. The 4.2 ROMs have different directories then 4.1to make multi user possible. So before going any further answer my last question and we'll get you straight.

Hi Guys!
Since the jflte family of devices is almost exactly the same I thought I would post my I9505 (jflte) Rom here for you as well!
It has been tested by jfltetmo and jfltecan users and is confirmed working!
To install it, just download the I9505 rom and then flash the appropriate device specific package I created.
Download the rom from this thread
Download the appropriate device specific package
Install CWM or TWRP recovery.
Boot into recovery, install ROM, then install the device specific package then install gapps.
Wipe Data/Factory Reset if coming from another Rom.
Reboot and enjoy!
Your device name might show up as I9505. If you are bothered by it you can edit the file /system/build.prop in the rom .zip package before you flash it.
This does not affect the way the rom functions in any way.
Please let me know if you have successfully installed and running this rom on any of the US variants of the S4. I don't own the device!

Yes that usually pops on a loki issue if im not mistaken. So your steps would be to flash the rom, flash your preferred kernel(i personally like the chronic kernel) then flash your gapps package.
