You need all share to stream stuff on your smart tv. I don't know if all share works with CM9 though. All share is included in the stock Rom, so maybe if you ask somebody he/she will extract it for you do you can try it on CM9
it works on stock
Dont know about CM9, but with the stock rom, you just need to make sure your TV and Phone are connected to the same wifi and then you play your file on your phone. A symbol at the top of the stock player shows a 'choose your player' dialogues and then you choose your TV. Its starts playing either instantly or with a prompt on your tv, depending on your tv setup. I have mine set to auto accept. Works with photos and videos. I have tried with 1080p movies and it works without a problem.
Tv is LG LM670T. 3d smart. its gorgeous
I think most recently manufactured tv hs dlna.
Just search your tv model on Internet then you should be able to find out.
If so, then download bubbleupnp app from play store. You can either set up another server on your computer, which I do, using plex server, which you can download for free for your pc. Or you can use your phone as the server as well.
You can control all the streaming from your pc to your tv or phone to tv right from the bubbleupnp app. Very cool. If you install the extra bubbleupnp server on your computer, you can even stream remotely. Very easy to set up and very cool. Real cool.

to do all of this, one wouldn't have to have a samsung tv would they? and what function or feature should i look for to find out whether my tv can actually handle this sort of thing?

If I understand well, you have two options: (1) stock Samsung rom and AllShare Cast (it needs Samsung framework, hence CM will not work) or (2) use DLNA (check if your TV supports it, but I guess so) and one of the apps mentioned above (which will also work in CM as it should support DLNA).

[Q] Sony Remote Feature

I had a look at one of these at lunchtime and I have to say, I'm impressed. I am particularly intrigued with the remote feature and I just wondered if this scenario is possible. Would I be able to link it to my Sky box and then set on screen buttons for the channels I wanna watch so I would have a button for BBC One HD (141) for instance.
Would that be possible?
Thanks in advance

Does your sky box have a remote? If there isn't a built in profile you can use the remote to teach the commands to the Sony remote and create your macro for the channel you want

OK, yes it has a remote. There seems to be very little information available on this. Does nobody use it for this feature?

Universal remote for all TVs

Hi, Im missing universal remote on Note 4. There is Peel remote but it does not contain my VIDO TV and there is no function to just place buttons on layout and map them with original tv remote like on LG Gx phones... is there any 3rd party app that allows it? Cant find one...
Don't know the answer but try this one. It may program with original remote?

ok, I will try ir right now. On LG G2/G3 I had I could just make layout of buttons and point original TV remote to map each button.
Ok, I tried it but not good :/ It has function to record your own remote but its like phone does not receive beam from original remote :/ when select other TV from list e.g. Samsung, everything works :/ maybe note 4 does not has function to receive beam like lg g2/g3 ? :/

In my opinion Peel remote is the best. I am using a JVC 32" tv, only volume and power works at default configuration. But u can troubleshoot the button values. Mine is working at 3rd set of values for the channel change and numbers.

FIOS TV new app sideloading issue

So, the new version of Verizon's FIOS TV app loads very nice on a currently updated Nvidia Shield TV.
The mouse emu is perfect using the right analog click and move option.
BUUT.... when I actually try to watch a TV program I get an error code instead of the video.
Does anyone know what can be done about this?

Did you figure this out? Also, where did you get the apk?
As long as you're able to register the Shield with your main DVR box, the app should work fine. I've maxed out the list before on the box, and had to delete old syncs I wasn't using anymore. OP never said what the error was, but I'm guessing that was it.
Incidentally, APKmirror usually has the latest package and it can be sideloaded:good:

LG V60 2nd screen with Bluecurve TV app

Hey guys,
I'm considering purchasing the LG V60 but was wondering if anyone can tell me if the 2nd display is considred an extended display by apps that typically block screen extending or casting (i.e. the Shaw Bluecurve TV app). If anyone owns this phone, lives in Canada and is a Shaw TV customer could let me know.

There's an app in the play store to force wide screen on all apps. You'll just have to put up with the case hinge in the middle, still cool non the less.

That's not what i'm looking to do. I want to be able to watch the bluecurve tv app on one screen and use another app on the other. The bluecurve tv app though traditionally blocks screen extention and chromecast. For example, when I had the Moto Z2 Force with the projector mod, the app would deny the projector access because it viewed it as an external display. What I'm trying to see is if the V60 2nd screen will behave the same or allow it to play

A Reddit user answered my question:
"I just got my LG v60 the other day.
It looks like it works fine!
I just tried this out and downloaded the tv app. I could watch Spier Man Far From Home, and Letterkenny on one screen, while having youtube open on the second screen."
