ROM Avatar Port - AT&T LG Optimus G

My first attempt at porting got SD card to mount (storage shows up as share and find will figure that out later). NFC and GPS also work. Let me know what doesn't. Thanks to nygfan760 and Neroga for the SD card fix.

sorry cant post links here yet.
Install
Make sure you have the latest jellybean modem otherwise GPS and NFC may not work
1) Download the ROM (sorry about how the link is posted)
2) Boot into recovery
3) Wipe dalvik cache, system and data.
4) Install Zip
5) Install GAPPS
6) Reboot and let ROM load
7) Start Theming!!
If you visit the Avatar website there is a link there for a program to create themes. Share them with us so we can make this phone as beautiful as possible. I was working on getting MIUI to work but this is as close to it as possible because I can't find a CM10 4.1.2 that works for our phone to port it to. Thank You everyone.

Nice work ant was wanting to check this out

Working on theme manager bug if you open then swipe over before it closes it will work sorry will update soon also I would have posted this in devif i was allowed to.

There's already a Avatar thread in Dev, not sure why this is here.

Ok a couple of points to make before i move this thread.
1. When making a thread for a new rom, whether Port or Original Develpoment a good layout for your rom would be like this this here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2267051
2. When you post a Rom ensure you post it in the correct section, if you are unable to post in in the correct section, then ask your local FSM like ME to move it for you.

CM7 deleting files.

Hi guys
My friend recently asked me to install android on his device and its working fine however whenever he reboots or switches os the files disappear. Anyone know a fix for this?
Any help appreciated
On a different note I still don't understand how I can access my webos files from android even though it was listed as a feature of this build. A simple file manager doesn't seem to work

> 1st you need to root your device.. search on development section.. on of those sticky post.. recovery is very easy.. jut download clockworkmod on play store and install the appropriate recovery.
I also use a P509 and have tried many Cm7 roms. You will not find a better rom than Gingersnap from the previous poster. I can't believe how well my device operates.
As far as rooting and recovery, a quick youtube search will give you many nice video tutorials. I hesitated for a long time before rooting but the youtube videos made it look so easy, which it is.

To root: watch youtube video "How to root LG Optimus T" by click4geeks. Use Gingerbreak if you have 2.2.2.
Recovery: use Rom Manager from Market to install CWM.

This is precisely why you are not allowed to post there right away.... If you read the thread and instructions it says that Steve will clearly state if one is needed. If you go through the final pages you can see he clearly states it should not be needed.

well i have noticed that, other threads with custom roms post the update details on the main page. Just havnt seen it with this one, and I would rather not have to format the whole sd card just to update a few things.

You should never have to format the SD card to install or update a ROM. All custom recoveries I know of are capable of wiping the entire /data partition except /data/media (this is where your HOX+ "SD card" is located) when the Factory Reset/Wipe Data option is selected. So I wouldn't worry about that in the future.

[AUTO+MANUAL] [ALL ROM's] Google Play Services App

Many ROM's are not able to get Google Play Services this package does just that.
Install Google Play Services using CMD (Automated) or manually (by flashing using CWM) (Instructions and files included)!
Installing this fixes the YouTube Sign In problem.
NOTE: After installing, open CMD prompt at root of this package and run:
Code:
adb install GPS.apk
Download
Well, this is still untested.
If this does not work, I will try to fix it.
Not a big deal to fix by the way.
y duos
I was searching for it long time ago, get the apk but all my trials failed to install. Does your package offer extra updating script?
flashed in cwm - com.google.andriod.gsm.apk is in app folder but youtube still asked to install google play services if I want to sign in
also placed gps.apk in app folder manually and youtube still says its not installed when I try to sign in
application not installed if install as normal apk
via CWM
I've installed it via CWM but don't know what to do then??

The same problem here & with my previous trials too, app installed but "An error occurred" while sign in !!
If you will only use play services for YouTube.
Then use this YouTube app instead.
Same look with the latest app but does not need play services which is a memory hog
Just flash this zip in CWM

what do you mean by not working?
I'm using this, it doesn't need Play Services
be sure you mount system first before flashing
or you can extract the zip and push the Youtube.apk in system/app and set permission to rw-r-r
:good:
Which version is that ?¿

Copy the GPS.apk in root of this zip to sdcard and install it after flashing it.

I flashed it and when I rebooted YouTube wasn't there so I must've done something wrong. And now that you've mentioned it, I just flashed it without checking if it was mounted to system haha o.o Alrighty. I'll give it another go and will give my feedback in a bit. Thank you for your reply.
Hey BarJei! Just wanna let you know that I made sure to mount system this time before flashing your YouTube.zip and I was able to sign in without Google Play Services being required. Thank you so much for sharing that! :victory: BTW, Google Play Store says there's an update for the YouTube that I flashed from your .zip. Is it ok to update it or leave it be?
Now to figure out how to get Google Play Store's Error 942 out of my way from downloading certain apps from the Play Store.. -.-

Btw OP your post is untested, right?
Why not try it first
I think Play Services error is related on the acct/uid/0 folder in the phone's root not in the app itself
