I also have a gap, If you haven't replaced the loca, you will have a gap.
When the screen locks up just power on/off. Annoying but still cheaper than a proper replacement.

Have you actually done this before? There is a gap after replacing just the lens/glass. This is due to no loca being in place any more.

I am saying that normally there should be no gap between the glass and the screen. If there's a gap after replacing the glass, then I guess that's why you shouldn't do it

i have same problem and i could not solve this problem yet
but there should be little bit gap between screen and glass because we don't put any glue between them

I just recently noticed this on my phone as you see in the pic I have the spot semi circled. If I tap in that spot nothing happens. You would think it would open the applications folder. Now if I tap on the exact spot on the other side even almost to the far corner opera opens. Is anyone else having this issue with their phones?

The bottom i understand...the skyrocket had constant issues with registering screen touches as capacitive button touches...that space may fix that

I have the same issue. Just tested it. I hit the applications button like seven times in a row this morning and it wouldn't launch. Now I know why. WTF can't we ever get a phone that doesn't have some sort of issue. UGH!
Self explanatory. Dumb maybe but it's quite aggravating when using the pen to have to also use my fingers....

Nope, different technologies, I'm pretty sure that's why they added the button on the stylus with gestures.
I agree that it is pretty annoying. It's not so bad once you train yourself to use the button on the pen and swipe. It just takes lots of practice to break the habit of using the capacitive buttons when using the pen.

Yes there is a way to make it work. Get a capacitive stylus and take the tip off and glue it to the S-Pen.

My proximity sensor is busted. I've tried all the different things like odining and getting compressed air and blowing it in the ear piece (which actually worked for like a day). So when I place a call the screen goes black and it won't let me turn the phone on at all. I know if the proximity sensor driver is just disabled I'd be able to turn the screen on and off by the power button while in a call. at any rate I was wondering if anyone knows what the driver is called for this phone. I would like to just disable the driver so I can get my phone functionality back. If anyone has any other ideas too that'd be more than welcomed. Thanks!

Go into Phone > call settings, then UNcheck "turn off screen during calls." That should allow you to use your power button while on a call.

Hey thanks so much for the response!! I should have specified i'm not a huge fan of touchwiz roms and that setting isn't in aosp for some reason :/ right now i'm on a touchwiz rom just because it's given me that option but i would love to be on the 4.4 aosp roms which i've tried and loved.
I haven't ran AOSP for awhile so I'm not familiar with the call settings, but there has to be a similar setting to disable it in there somewhere. This actually just started happening to me, I think my proximity sensor crapped out as well Look around, or ask in the ROM thread that you're using.

Fix!!! well sort of
ok so i found a workaround not really a fix but i guess it's gonna have to be good enough for me. I found an app called intelliscreen which gives you the option to set screen on/off rules for different apps. I set screen always on for the dialer and phone apps in 4.4 kk rom and now basically the screen still turns off during a phone call but i am able to turn it back on during the phone call with the power button or home button. pretty awesome because i really didn't feel like being on a tw rom forever lol.
Glad to here it

Doesn't that break auto rotation?
Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
The method of disabling the sensor in the .so folder seem to break auto rotate. For me however its kinda worth it. Anything I usually want rotated is always rotated on its own anyhow and not being able to use my phone as a phone is kinda the worst lol.
Some users in the CM 11 thread have had success using a Q-Tip with a little alcohol on it to clean a black haze on the sensor. This, however, requires you to take the phone apart, which is actually a lot easier than it would seem.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=50051163&highlight=alcohol#post50051163
