Fastboot hangs on sending... - HTC Desire X

Because I'm using my Windows 8 laptop at the moment while I'm away from England, I've been trying to use it for fastboot but only very rarely does it ever finish the sending process. Fastboot always works with my normal Windows 8 desktop and I can't see why fastboot just hangs on me on here. Fastboot only recognises my device through the USB 3.0 port, not through my USB 2.0s. Any ideas?

Your situation is the other way round, many has problem to have a working fastboot with USB 3.0 but ok with USB 2.0. I'm with W8 laptop too and no problem with USB2.0.
Not resolving your problem but maybe someone else has a better idea why two different situation

What about drivers? Are they installed correctly? Also, do the USB 2.0 ports work normally with USB storage devices?

I have installed and reinstalled the drivers numerous times, including doing all that advanced start up stuff. I thought it was strange and it definitely is the USB 3.0 port. I'm pretty sure each port works fine with USB storage devices.

Correction: Just checked in the manual for my laptop... it is a USB 2.0 port, the other two are USB 3.0 ports... :L even so when using this port it hangs on sending... and it's majorly confusing

Ooops. Can't enter recovery and ODIN will not recognize

For a while now I haven't been able to use a USB cable to my phone because "usb drivers not recognized"
Anyway, today I flashed the sept 3 build of AOKP and it flashed fine. I then went back to recovery and flashed devil kernel and gapps.
Now i'm stuck in a bootloop and cannot get into recovery. I normally would just odin but i can't use that as my computer does not recognize..
Help please?
Anyone?
I have tried multiple USB cables (not a genuine samsung one though) and have had no success. What could the problem be? My laptop says I didn't even plug something in, and my desktop says whatever I plugged in malfunctioned.
Download and reinstall the drivers. That has always done the trick for me.

After you redownload and reinstall drivers, put your phone in download mode and plug it into the wall charger first, then the computer again. I had to use a data cable that I got from Fred Meyers to get me out of trouble once also.

Tried reinstalling drivers a billion times and also tried entering download mode before computer. One thing I have noticed is that it say "USB device has malfunctioned" and it shows as "Unknown USB Device" when I plug it into a USB3.0 port, and when I try USB2.0 it doesn't show up at all.
It is possible there is something wrong with the cord, computer port, or port on the phone. Things happen of course. I would try getting g your files together and using friends computer for a few minutes, just to see if the phone is okay. Just using the process of elimination of course. Good luck!

USB connection gets weird

I have been flashed ROMs, kernels, and nanstores recently. Don't know why, my USB connection just stopped showing up when connect with non-stock USB cable. It did before. Now if I plug in non-stock USB cable, the phone only shows charging and can't find the storage on my computer. Does anybody know what cause this?

[Q] Tablet can't seem to connect to computer via USB...

I'm on the original Tablet S here. Using a USB cable that I know for sure works, plugging it into my tablet and then the computer has no effect. It just isn't recognized, and I've tried this on two different computers.
Is it likely that my USB port on my tablet is just broken? I hope not...

They work for me in 8.1, however, for some reason, fastboot will NOT work with any USB 3.0 port (with the blue color). Make sure you are connecting to a 2.0 port!
same issue, and i'm using usb 2.0. i'm also using original usb cable and have tried other cables as well.
i am to getting this problem is there any solution on this
I downloaded the latest HTC Sync which installed the drivers. I have no problem with Fastboot and my One. You can unintstall Sync afterwards.

And you're using Windows 8.1 right? I just tried that, did a system restore to before I had any drivers whatsoever installed...then installed the latest HTC Sync. The adb drivers work fine but as soon as I reboot into the bootloader I get the same USB enumeration error and fastboot doesn't work. I have no idea how to fix this, it's real frustrating.
Sorry I haven't responded sooner. Yes I am on 8.1 and have no issues.
I can confirm it was a USB 3.0 issue in my case. As soon as I found a regular USB 2.0 port all my Windows 8.1 woes went away.
i have flashed pacman in my phone and now i cant mount usb storage on my pc , i am having windows 8.1 in my pc . But when i am having stock rom i am able to mount usb , please help me . My Phone Model is HTC Desire S
Hello
i have a asus transformer book t100 with windows8.1 and i cant get fasboot to Work... Adb is working

No USB connection to computer.

My LG E970 does not have an usb connection to the computer.
I tried connecting in fastboot and ADB via command prompt, the computer does not see it.
It says slow charging when connected to a computer, 2 different computers.
I have the LG united drivers installed, reinstalled and rebooted.
I was on 4.4 and I did a restore to stock ATT 4.1.2, still no luck.
I'm out of ideas.
EDIT:
I tried LGNPST from: http://pastebin.com/bRpR3aB6
I put it into download mode and the phone shows "DOWNLOAD MODE" "DO NOT UNPLUG the device until the process is complete"
It only shows that, LGNPST does not detect anything.

From there you need to select the ls970.dll and the bin file in lgnpst.

It won't let you select anything unless something is detected. Example: "UNKNOWN PORT 01"
And nothing is detected.

Try Kush's universal adb drivers for windows. If you are running Win8.1, make sure it's usb2.0 and not 3.0. If it still doesn't see it, try a different windows os.

I tried the different drivers, still "slow charge mode on the phone." It is suppose to pop up that USB debugging notification on the phone if it senses a computer connection. I'm using windows 7 and usb 2.0 only. Tried on different computer, still slow charging mode.
did you turn on "usb debug" in setting->Develop options?

Yes, it is on. Still only "slow charging mode"
Still not working after I flashed SnowLepoardJB's 800MB+ stock ROM. Any other suggestions?
Hi, I'm joining this thread since I have the same problem... My phone charges, but no device connection. Could there be a kernel module missing? Is there a way to check? A #lsmod type command?

Good for you. I tried different USB cords, and it still doesn't work.
Well, if you can select USB debugging and charge the phone over USB, but the phone doesn't notice the computer then it may be a damaged USB port... I saw a thread about that on a Kindle I think... But it sounds like software isn't the problem... Good luck.

I recently had the same problem and my solution was to use the Koush Universal ADB Driver recommended by someone else. Prior to that all I could see the contents of my SD card and external SD card on the computer but always had some sort of driver issues and Windows telling me my driver wasn't installed correctly.
Using the official LG driver from the website didn't seem to help either.
OK... I know this thread has gotten old, but here's the final deal... It wasn't "exactly" the USB cables. It WAS the plug. The plug wasn't broken, just very dirty. I cleaned it out with a toothpick and now even the old cord works fine... So if you can't get the computer and phone to recognize each other, try cleaning the micro port in the phone

My issue is that I can't connect to my computer with Windows 8.1 in Download Mode. If I want to flash, I need to find a friend who is using Windows 7. Can anybody help with this?
Other details: I've tried cleaning the ports, using another cable, using other USB connections, etc. When in Download Mode, SDK can't even detect the device. I'm pretty sure it's the fact that I'm using Windows 8.1, but I don't know what to do to fix this problem.
Thanks!

Not sure why you want to put your phone in download mode
If your just trying to connect your phone via USB to mount storage (meaning getting file off the internal storage and sd card), it should work fine.
If your trying to root your phone, you need to grab the android sdk and use the adb commands.

The reason is that my phone is "bricked." I'm caught in a boot loop. The bootloader is locked on my LG phone so I can only get into Download Mode to fix stuff. But I can't fix stuff if my computer doesn't recognize my device. (I can connect fine when my phone boots up properly; just not in Download Mode). I've installed and uninstalled the LG drivers many times, so this is not the issue. What can I do with my Windows 8.1 computer to connect with my phone in Download Mode? Again, I CAN connect to Windows 7 computers, but I don't have one convenient to use, and I don't want to install lots of software on friends' computers...

That is what I would like to be able to do, but it assumes your device is recognized. One of the other posts on the same thread mentioned a similar issue but didn't mention a solution.
I've done some more exploring. I have, again, uninstalled and reinstalled the appropriate LG E970 drivers from the LG support site.
- When I am in fastboot mode, I see the attached image "01 Android.png" in device manager.
- When I am in recovery mode, I see the attached image "02 LG E-970.png" in device manager.
- When my phone fully boots up, I see the attached image "03 LGE Android MTP Device.png" in device manager. At this point, and only at this point, abd will list my phone as a device.
The problem is, I need a connection to my computer from recovery / download mode in case of a boot loop.
Can anyone help?
