I love you! This also works with the ART runtime on my SlimKat 4.4.4 ROM. Flashed with TWRP, mapped to double-clicks on the home button, and added to the global menu. PERFECT! :good::highfive::laugh:

Actually that's imposible. The samsung task manager is intended to work ONLY in samsung stock (or custom) ROMS. In other words, is designed to work only with samsung framework, no with AOSP framework (the one in CM7). In order to work, the samsung task manager must be modified to work with any framework (just like the Xperia Arc launcher).
Why not try to use Multitasking Pro (or it's free version). It works just like samsung's one, and is a bit more functional (and in CM7, you can replace the default android taskmanager with any aplication you want, including this one)
I found a way to do it but it took me a while fiddling withthe frameworks but it force closes lots

It's a proprietary app. You also need to copy resources from Original FW for it to work on CM7.

RR 2.6.1 Task manager

Hi,
I moved from 2.3.5 to 4.0.4 aka RR 2.6.1.
The new task manager at 4.0.4 (long press on the home button) only shows you the last app you recently used but I want to see if there are running apps/games that I forgot to close like I had in stock Samsung 2.3.5.
1. Do I need this task manager like I had in stock Samsung 2.3.5 in order to locate running apps/games that I forgot to close ?
2. If so, will Samsung task manager 2.3.5 will work at RR2.6.1 ? and from where can I download it.
Thank you.

In Rr 2.6.1 did you choose samsung apps in custom installation under aroma? If not Reflash the rom with option choosen in AROMA custom installation you will get the ICS Task manager app.

If I will reflash, the ExTweaks I changed and R-Rom settings will change to default or everything will stay the same ?
Settings will stay, if you select "non-wipe".

[Q] SGS2 Replace preinstalled apps in Custom ROM

Hey guys,
Please can u tell me if there is a solution to change/modify to your needs a custom Rom you're about to install on your rooted galaxy s2 ( 9100 ).
For example: I want to install CyanogenMod 10 Nightly build... , it's installed, next i install GAPPS (google apps).
Ok, after reboot everything is ok and working.
Now what i want to do is to replace a default CM(cyanogenmod) apps (SMS, Contact manager/Call manager) by those which were included in JB 4.1.2 (leaked version).
Is there any way to achieve it ?
Thanks in advance for any info and suggestions.

Nope, i watched Chameleon ROM Hybrid on youtube but you can see that he is using old sms app (green with smiley), instead of what i'am searching for (Messaging with orange/yellow envelope).
But what i mentioned is that he have TouchWiz launcher (Desktop), where u can create folders etc.. How can i port it to fresh installed CM10 ROM?
Any suggestions? thanks

Contacts application crashes

Hy
I am using a Samsung galaxy S3 JB 4.1.1 rooted and flashed with Omega rom v31and today i flashed a transparent mod for accuweather widget and apparently I cannot open my contacts application (crashes). Maybe it's not because of the mod, but i don't know what to do.
Thank you.

Most likely the mod.
I think omega v36 is out anyways, might wanna do a clean flash to that
That did the trick, thank you very much, I flashed the new Omega rom and did a factory reset. Now I just have to revert back to the original accuweather widget. Thanks again.

If you're running ICS 4.0.4, go back to gb or move forward to jb asap.
If you want to know why, search on xda for emmc brickbug.....
In the meantime, don't do ANY data wiping of any sort......

eMMC Chip report :-
Typ : VIS00M
Brick Bug? No. Sane Chip.
This report is good or bad?
Well that would appear to be better news than for my chip (unknown) but I would still be cautious/careful about wiping data.....the last thing you want is an unrecoverable brick turning your phone into an expensive paperweight. ......

Omg what is your problem! !??? Damn... try and read for yourself
Afaik.....installing apps from an older OS onto a newer OS will cause system instability....which could manifest itself as anything from app force closes up to and including forced system shutdown and bootloops.....
Probably best to look for a 3rd party app that meets your requirements. ...

I can understand the the risk and I take the risk. If any possile then pls give me the guide how can I install Samsung Galaxy S2 Gingerbread Root Music Player in Jelly Bean? If is it possible then pls guide me.
Thank you.
As far is I know, the method would be to download the entire gb firmware, extract the app, copy and paste app into 'system>> apps', fix permissions and reboot.....
I would REALLY advise against it though.......
There is a VERY HIGH liklihood of system instability afterwards which won't disappear until the app is uninstalled........
Aaaaand.....if your current OS is a stock firmware, you'll also need a matching 'odex' file.......and I'm not sure how that file is created.........

Greetings my friend long time now buddy, when copying a framework dependant apk there will also be possible associated lib files most of the time which will be needed, and no need to worry about .odex file generation, if it is not generated by the installer then the it would be generated by the dalvik virtual machine at boot(remember android is upgrading thingy which happens whenever you copy an apk into system partition) or you can use the system cleaner app to manually generate odex files.
P. S The above post should give you an idea about why we wipe dalvik cache and why android is upgrading notification comes after wiping it.

So what say you to the OP's idea of installing an older gen apk into a newer gen firmware? Will it be as I think...incompatible. ...or can it be done?.......

Guys, you are all wrong... i have ported the gb samsung music player working perfectly on cm10.1, so it definitely works on any samsung rom. This is the player you are asking about right op? i themed it a little bit tho to look like s4
If you want it, just download and install apk, no need to push to system, as i signed it

Lol, nobody said that it won't work, and most of us call these modded apks ports because of that, because it's made compatible for a different OS version or framework or even device's, we were just considering the fact whether the original Samsung signed apk would work directly. Because sometimes no modification is necessary to make an old app work.

Thanks for the but my friend its Jelly bean Music player not Gingerbread Music player cause Gingerbread Music player sound effect option is like this : Sound Effect (Wide) + Equalizer (Custom) & this sound effect are very good. And Jelly Bean Music player option is 3D Music + Bass + Equalizer (Custom) and its not good for music lover.
If any one know about Gingerbread Music player then pls give me the apk or solution...

Try using the Viper4Android mod it has a lot of functions and basically any music lover would be drooling over the several audio customization options available. It's so advanced that it's capable of using IR files for enhanced music experience. This is a really great work around unless you're adamant on the music player.

Free app so this should be ok. Install and select bottom driver on both then reboot phone.
Damn...that's really made a difference.....totally impressed there fella......thanks for the share.....
Bass is more vibrant without the clipping....even at max volume.
Way more control over mid range
And the treble is really crisp.....even on the crappy stock headphones. ...
