Are most recoveries that are available now an auto loki? For example, the team win recovery in goo manager? Thanks in advanced!

Newest version of twrp (2.5.0.2) is auto loki.
If you want CWM (auto loki likewise), install twrp from goo manager then flash this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2291976) in twrp

Hey guys,
So I am thinking about flashing an AOSP ROM. A lot of them seem to mention to flash in CWM. I currently have TWRP on my phone. Will it be necessary to switch? If yes, how do I go about doing that and will the backups that I made with TWRP work in CWM?
Unless the dev specifically says dont use twrp. Youll be fine. I use twrp, but I also havent flashed an asop rom yet. But youll be fine.

Switch by just using ROM manager to flash cwm and no your backups aren't interchangeable.

To get back to TWRP I just uninstall ROM manager and install via GooManager?
You wouldn't even need to uninstall ROM manager, just use goo to reflash TWRP

Not sure if anyone noticed but I checked ROM manager for recovery update and found Samsung Galaxy S4 At&t. Just did a restore from a prior backup with no issues. About to do a new install to see if it needs loki patching or not.
Update-----Just tried installing a Google Edition ROM and got:
***Error System not authorized by At&t!****
Do not install if you are crack flashing like me until there is a workaround. Might need to flash loki patch zip after flashing ROM.

Were you on a Recovery Manager before that auto-loki'd? If you were.. this probally doesnt auto-loki roms and you have to manually apply loki patches for roms like Google Edition and such to work.
Yes I was on auto Loki prior. CWM is not auto Loki but does work. Figured of post up before someone gets in a bind.

This does not auto loki...so you must use a loki kernel after each rom flash.
This has been around for a good couple of weeks. As of now the only auto loki recovery im aware of is ooduhas (however its spelled ) with other recoveries just flash loki doki zip after each rom flash to loki the kernel

Omg, people will never stop getting confused by this...
What you read in that post refers to the RECOVERY itself being loki-patched so that it is able to be installed on our device. That is NOT, in any way, referring to the recovery having the ability to "auto-loki" kernels that it flashes.
its not auto loki.

Hi all.. I bought a second hand Galaxy S3 and I have SuperSU and CWM Manager installed. I updated ClockWorkMod recovery via Rom Manager, but I can't flash Recovery Touch (server error). Any solution? I want to install CyanogenMod ROM, can I just install it throught recovery? And how can I check if bootloader is unlocked, and is that necessary?

I've installed CVM 6.0.3 and tried to make a recovery but had some issues so i tried to upgrade to 6.0.3 or even uninstall it but i couldn't find anything helpful
I've tried using Odin to install CVM 6.0.4 in order to overwrite the old one but it didn't work well
Any ideas about what did i do wrong ??

There are zip files for newer recoveries.. My personal favorite is Phil's touch... Just download the file and flash it through your current recovery... And then reboot recovery...

Does that mean that i need to be rooted ?? because i'm not and i'm not intending to do it now
no need for root. download new recovery as an zip (Philz is an good choice, find his tread here on xda) and reboot into recovery. Flash new recovery zip just like any other zip. Reboot and voila... all done
