Hi all.. I bought a second hand Galaxy S3 and I have SuperSU and CWM Manager installed. I updated ClockWorkMod recovery via Rom Manager, but I can't flash Recovery Touch (server error). Any solution? I want to install CyanogenMod ROM, can I just install it throught recovery? And how can I check if bootloader is unlocked, and is that necessary?

did you try to use the search button??

I did, and this isnt s flashable zip, this is script to root on pc, flashable is in cwm?
Sent from my LT26i using xda premium
and how do you want to flash it?? there's a superuser flashable zip in the dev section (I think) but you need cwm installed, and to install cwm you need root, so you first have to use that pc script I posted.
With that you don't need the flashable superuser, but is still necessary after you flash some custom rom
let me get this straight...
u can't unlock your bootloader and yet u're asking for a flashable zip for CWM?????
uhh... enlighten everyone of us here please... we are all very confused if that's the case...
Thanks so much for ur post
For u who confuse, i cant unlock my bootloader, but i can root and than install cwm, than i flash a rom, but without bootloader unlocked, after u flash a rom, cwm and superuser will not work, which is why i need to reflash the zip of these two right after i flashed a rom
Cheers!

and you can also use the root kit with the custom rom

Which tool kit u talking about?

you could have rooted with cf-root 6.5 instead...it includes CWM, otherwise google clockwordmode recovery and download the recovery and flash it with odin, simple as that!
I googled it but there's only one for Samsung Galaxy S3 (GT-I9300), While mine is a GT-19305, Can I use CWM for 19300 on 19305?

Hi all,
I realize this issue must have been asked before but I couldn't find the fix through the forum.
I'm trying to flash my Galaxys S3 (I9300 International Version) but nothing seems to work.
I go into recovery and try to unzip the latest CWM (here) but all I get is a 'signature verification failed'.
I try to install CWM recovery through the app but it says 'an error occured while flashing your recovery'.
When I try to flash this ROM (here), CM11, from recovery, after a full factory reset I get 'failed to verify whole-file signature' & 'signature verification failed'.
So that leaves me stuck at the beginning ...
Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance!

I am, but I can't get into CMW recovery either, not through the app.
I just get an error when it reaches a 100%.
Should I buy the touch version from the store?

U cannot flash tat zip file from the link u posted first with stock recovery. Tat must be flashed from cwm recovery. Use ROM manager from play store. Then flash the recovery zip file then the rom.

You need to flash CWM through Odin in order to flash other stuff (.zip file to root, etc.). You can dig up guides on the internet.

There are zip files for newer recoveries.. My personal favorite is Phil's touch... Just download the file and flash it through your current recovery... And then reboot recovery...

no need for root. download new recovery as an zip (Philz is an good choice, find his tread here on xda) and reboot into recovery. Flash new recovery zip just like any other zip. Reboot and voila... all done

Hi guys. Why does my phone always aborted while installing update zip or custom rom.
Im using a stock recovery in mediatek mt6572 . Also do you have any idea about its cwm
Recovery image? Thanks.
Im using Cherry mobile emerald.
You cannot flash via stock recovery. You need root. A quick google search reveals that you can root with king root or root master.

Use MtkDroidTools 2.4.8 (or higher) to backup ROM and install CWM, then flash you update .zips or ROM after you have done that.
