[Q] Apps just vanishes - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

I've been using this ROM for about 1 month now, recently whenever I press HOMEKEY or when I exit any large apps like Facebook or Opera Mobile all the apps vanish just like it would when you turn on the phone and after few seconds it comes back. Its similar to startup - preparing SD card effect. Any solutions to this problem guys ?
And its not just the apps installed in SD card but both, the whole screen becomes blank for a few seconds.

Apps 2 SD Pro Crash Loop

I noticed that my phones internal space for apps was getting full, so i moved some apps over to my SD card. Now, once every three minutes or so, the screen freezes, goes black, and then im brought to the lock screen to start all over again. I've tried moving apps back to my phone, but i must have moved about 50 or so. And because the phone is still launching and reading apps off of the SD, it takes a while to move them back to the phone...in fact, it takes so long that i'm unable to move them back before it crashes again.
Bad news. This has happened multiple times. Any fix? I don't have enough time before it crashes again to back up my settings, but it looks like i'll be stuck wiping. If you have a fix lemme know.

Icons order in launcher menu

Once in a while (I think it's an issue with the reboot option mod) when I reboot my st15i Mini, the apps in the SD card are not recognized properly: they are there, but instead of their usual icons there's a grey icon resembling an SD card. If I turn off the phone normally then turn it on again everything is back to normal, BUT in the launcher menu the icons are rearranged in an awful way. First, the custom order I had is totally scrambled, second (and most important), they are not arranged to fill every "screen" of the menu (12 per screen, was it?), but there are random amounts (from filled screen to 2-3 icons per screen), leaving a lot of holes, and clogging up my menu with 4-5 screens more than needed. Needless to say, if I change order (eg alphabetically) then back to custom, holes are still there, so I have to manually move EVERY icon back to its original place.
Is it a launcher problem, or the fact that something about the apps in the sd card is not loaded correctly? I noticed that the stock apps not installed in the SD (first 2-3 screens of the menu) are never scrambled, nor moved, so it's more likely an SD issue.
(I have rooted st15i with GB/.62 and stock rom/kernel/launcher btw, if that can help)
I noticed a similar behavior in my sk17i launcher, with stock (rooted) GB .58 ROM.
Holes started to appear here and there in the launcher out of the blue: I thought it had to be related to installing/updating/uninstalling apps. Oh, and I wasn't using any custom ordering, I was still using the default ordering it had when I bought it (which was by order of installation I think).
Then a couple of days ago I wiped the Dalvik Cache with CWM, and after reboot many more holes appeared (and also some home screen shortcuts inside folder disappeared).
At that point I switched to the Most Used first order.
This means I have no solution for this problem, but I can confirm that there is indeed some strange behavior in the stock launcher.
Yeah, that happens to me sometimes also.
I noticed that it happens after disconecting the phone from PC when not connected as MTP.
The grey icons mean that the apps are loading from the SD card (OS is mounting the card).
I know it's annoying, especially the mess in the drawer, but i also noticed that the problem disappears when connected in media transfer, usb debugging, and since i flashed CyanogenTimescape (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1748576) it never happened to me.
Seems like some roms have some kind of a problem with that, you can try that one (it's also very responsive, fast, and stable), if you're up for the change.
Cheers!
That grey icon while booting means the app is not loaded yet. Since it is stored on the SD, you have to wait some seconds for the SD to be mounted.
If you plug your phone in MSC mode, for example, SD card is completely unmounted and you'll see the same effect on SD-stored apps.
If you reboot immediately when you notice this, you probably screw up things, and (as you noticed) the same apps will be rearranged because the phone can't load them properly on boot, and it takes some time to "realize" they are on the SD. Therefore, they'll reappear in the last page of the app drawer.
This also happens if you turn your phone on after removing the SD, and maybe even if you unmount manually your SD.
Just use and connect your SD properly, and this won't happen again.

Create a sd ext partition and move the apps to it. Even in msc mode the apps will not turn grey. It's so, because the sd partition keeps being mounted. That means that all your apps are still usable.
You can read this at the faq section from link2sd.

glad i could help
I have the same problem on my sk17i (mini pro). Both in the app drawer and with the on screen shortcuts and in folders.
I've had it since day 1.
And you can't get rid of it just by changing the usb connection mode. Because you will eventually want to unmount your sd card, and when you do, your app drawer gets screwed (by how much depends on your luck).
I've also found that this problem can occur after simply having booted the phone. If it takes too long, or the phone is busy with stuff you're in a hurry to do, your SD crap gets screwed up again.
I really don't understand why the app drawer can't just reserve a particular position for the particular app which was occupying it. I mean, on a desktop operating system, your shortcuts remain where they are, regardless if their target is there or not. On Android, they turn to the gray sd symbol, but they also disappear at the slightest breeze like some kind of wusses...
I wonder if it's possible to hard code a custom app drawer with proper persistent positions.
Also, I personally love the 4 corner UI in the minis, as well as the stock timescape widgets and whatnot. So I can't use a custom launcher or rom which doesn't accommodate them and with at least 2 of the 4 rings in the 4 corner UI.

[Q] [P] Apps reset on reboot.

Running the newest version, which I've rooted and installed CWM on. I did this today and have had the problem for at least two weeks so it's unrelated. Every time I reboot my phone, (or it dies and I turn it back on) MOST of my apps have disappeared from my front screen. And the apps list in the launcher is reverted back to some default setting. For example, if I place Snapchat and Instagram on my front screen, they will disappear on reboot, but Root Browser doesn't.
What can cause this? I do believe I moved some apps from internal storage to SD card, or the other way around but this was long before I noticed this issue ( I THINK!). Any idea guys?

Data/Apps Not Deleted, But Will Not Show?!! (After 4 Bootloops)

Phone: Xperia Mini ST15i
Android Version: 4.0.4 (Stock/Official)
NOT Rooted.
I have had "Boot Loop" problems on my phone in the past 4 weeks and I could solve it 3 times with simply taking out the battery for 2 days and then placing it in again and connecting the phone to the charger, it worked great all 3 times and I could turn it on.
Few days ago I was working with my phone and suddenly it turned off and went into boot loop for the 4th time, so for 2 days I left the phone without any battery and today I placed in the battery and turned the phone on and it booted and showed me my Buzz Launcher's Home Screen but it suddenly turned off again and it booted and again showed me Buzz Launcher's Home Screen but again it turned off and booted and showed me Buzz Launcher's Home Screen, it repeated for 4-5 times so I turned the phone phone and removed my Simcard and my SD Card and this time the phone booted and it showed a message: "Upgrading Android". (WITHOUT the SD Card and Simcard). This finished and I could see my PHONE MEMORY APPS were there (but they would not run...!), my messages were all there, my WiFi passwords were still there, but my contacts were not, even my Gmail accounts were still signed in.
I turned off the Phone and placed in the SD Card and it booted but I don't see my SD Card apps!!!! I have not deleted anything from my SD Card and the occupied space is exactly the same as 3 days ago when my phone was working.
My messages ARE there.
My WiFi passwords ARE there.
My PHONE MEMORY apps ARE in the menu but they will NOT run!! (one of the phone memory apps work: Viber2PDF)
My SD Card apps are NOT there.
My Gmail accounts ARE there.
For example "DU Speed Meter" runs but after few seconds it closes automatically... The same for few other apps, they open up and then they show "Force Close" warning.
What's happening? It seems like all my data is still there only my phone cannot access them?
My SD Card and Phone Memory both have the EXACT free space they had 3 days ago when my phone was working so it means NOTHING is deleted at all.
I found the solution.
Rooting my phone using "Eroot" and then installing "Titanium Backup" I could backup my data and then I wiped all the data from non-working apps and then re-installed the apps and restored the data (using Titanium Backup) and now I have all my data restored and hopefully nothing is lost.

Back, Front camera and Flash stopped after apps transfer to sd card

Hi,
Something strange happened with my z5c E5823 running stock 7.1.1. Here is the riddle
I got a message the other day, saying space on internal memory is decreasing and the option to transfer stuff to SD card. Since there were almost no pictures and music on the phone, I keep them on SD card, there was the option to transfer about 2GB of Apps. I choose that (big mistake when I think of it now) .
I continued using the phone while the transfer was in progress and @ some point , the phone crashed. That never happened before. Screen froze and stayed like that for around 10 min, completely inactive, and the phone restarted itself alone. After this it all seemed fine until I tried to start the Camera app. It just gave me black screen and some seconds later the message - Camera has stopped/ Restart app.
The front camera and flashlight don't work either.
Another weather app - AcuWeather didn't want to start too, but after reinstalling it it was alright.
There is no such option for the camera app and clearing data and restarting didn't help.
Decided I will do a Factory reset for the first time since I use the device and tried a manual back up of all the info to the SD card. Contacts , personal info and settings backed up successfully , but the process hanged up at 50% when transferring apps. It crashed and stooped. Tried it 2 times !
Since back up wasn't possible I proceeded with the factory reset and after that the phone successfully restored my personal data, without the apps , but the camera didn't work. I did a Software repair with xperia companion with the same result.
Another bug appeared. When I pull down the full notification bar, and want to edit/rearrange the icons/shortcuts and press the little pencil next to the settings(gear) icon, the phone freezes for a few seconds and than the screen turns black. The phone is unusable at that point, thought it works, and receives calls which i can not answer. I only can restart it, because the power button gets me to the window for power off and restart.
Than I read some camera sensors might get disconnected from the board so I opened the phone , but it was alright inside. nothing changed.
Now I got an open phone and no answer or clue whatsoever of how to proceed.
Any ideas are very welcome!
I there a way to reset the phone to an earlier version of android?
Thanks inadvance!
