[Q] Delete emails from drop down bar - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

Does anyone know if you can add a delete button to the drop down menu. For instance, I'm using g-mail and I don't want to have to open the app to be able to delete the email.

This setting is located within the Gmail app itself. It allows you to choose what actions you can perform in the drop down bar.

I wish they would add an archive all button for multiple emails ...

Care to share where? I don't see an option to change this in my settings.

In the Gmail app under settings. General settings change the swyping conversations setting to always delete then the archive button on the pull down will change to a delete button

Sms app w/ Quick Compose

Looking for a sms app that can allow to Quick Compose a text from any screen. Handcent has the feature, but doesn't work with ICS Phones since the search button is gone. Any suggestions?? I REALLY REALLY miss this feature

Launches the sms app. Not quick compose.
Quick compose should launch a box in any app that allows to create the message and send it. Handcent did it flawlessly.

in 1Tap Quick bar, there's an option to add a CREATE NEW SMS, which you could find in ITEMS/OTHER. the icon is a white envelope. This icon launches the default sms app you are currently using, and directly goes to IT"S create new sms message window. but i guess that's still not what you want.

Thanks for the help. I sorta found a solution with ChompSMS. There's an option for quick compose that leaves a box in your notification tray to quick compose a message. I just hate having stock, Handcent, and ChompSMS sms apps in my phone.
Not perfect but it will do for now.

I'd like to find a way to have notification similar to MIUI where you can respond to any text you receive from within the app

New version of Gmail

The newest version of Gmail is supposed to have the ability to delete and archive an email right from the notification (on jelly bean). I updated and don't see this ability. I don't see how this is an option. Has anyone else experienced this? What's the deal?
Thanks

This is really bothering me. Don't know what is going on.
It only works if you receive one email at a time from my experience. For example if you have it on auto sync an a new email is received. It won't work if you manually sync and 10 emails pop up. Again this is what I'm experiencing.

Try doing a reverse 'pinch-to-zoom' on a message in your notification tray. It should zoom out and give you the options to archive or reply.
I see the "Archive" and "Reply" options, but where's "Delete"?
Just select the messages you want to delete and the option will show up in icon bar

From the Gmail app, go to Settings>General Settings>Swiping Conversation List>Always Delete and I think the option in your notifications will allow you to delete.

Thanks! I saw that option but for some reason thought it was only for the conversation list within the app, not the drop-down menu. Just gave it a shot and it worked!

[Q] [GMAIL v 4.3.1] Can anyone delete an email from the notification pulldown?

This has been bugging me for a week...
What's in this version:
Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and up:
• Reply, archive or delete from notifications - no need to open the app
v. 4.3.1 of gmail is supposed to give us Reply, archive AND delete options from the notification pulldown....I'm still only getting Reply and Archive.
Have cleared data/cache on the app....have uninstalled and reinstalled...still the same.
Anyone able to delete from the notofication pulldown in Gmail? I'm stock 2.04. It would be really useful to be able to do this.

MONEY! I could care less about archive...switched my slide action to delete and it appeared. Thank you, sir!
It should give you all three if they're going to advertise it that way...lol

Where is the slide action setting?
Nm I figured it out.
Gmail App -> Settings -> General Settings -> Swiping conversation list. set to "Always Delete" didn't seem to do it.
Can someone explain a little better?

Has anyone else noticed that swipe to DELETE is gone? Or am I having a brain fart and can't find swipe to delete? Or to get the delete option in the notification area?

Is the swipe to delete something you've always had to set? I've always had swipe to archive without realizing you could change it.

you must go into Settings Archive and Delete and selete option. if you have archive set(default) change it to delete or archive and delete.

In my setting, I have a checkbox for "Swipe to Archive". This does not allow for swipe to delete in the conversation list..........

The version listed in this thread - 4.5. Are you running 4.5? In the previous version I definitely had this option, but not in 4.5.

you only get the swipe to delete option if the "Archive and Delete" options is set to "show delete only"
