Hello,
I have bought recently a S3 and after all updates suggested by the OS (now it's running 4.1.2) I have noticed that my ram memory was 96% full so I have started disabling some services (most of Samsung apps, Samsung push service, etc)
Bottom line is that now I cannot assign a ringtone to a specific contact and I want to know what to enable from applications manager, in order to be able again to assign ringtones to contacts.
Thanks,
Please post questions in the dedicated subforum.

Hello,
I have just got in rooting/flashing lots of different ROM's for my Galaxy S II.
I have flashed a couple of Android 4.0.4 Rom's and they are pretty good. However, I have a problem.
Every 4.0.4 ROM I have flashed does NOT allow access to the contacts stored on the Phone or SIM card.
I can only access google contacts. I want access to the PHONE contacts.
Also, I cannot easily call a contact once I select. Clicking on the contact just brings up the name and number with no call button?
I am currently using NeatRoM XWLP8- this is pretty good but I want to get back to f1 Galaxy Nexus rom 4.0.4- Just concerned about sim/phone No access and how to call as in typical samsung fashion.
Regards,
BW
Go to settings in contacts and hit import/export. Then import from sim card. To call just press the name.

Hi,
I have tried this on multiple 4.0.4 ROMs and there is never an option to 'Import from SIM'
When you go into contacts and choose show contacts- it only shows google contacts, no other options for anything.
There also seems to be a problem with 4.0.4 roms not being able to access SD card

BW
I'm running F1 Rom which is 4.04. This has the import/export options when you press the left soft key once contacts are open. It is just running standard AOSP 4.04 Rom.

Hi Matty,
Does the latest F1 4.0.4 ROM you refer to have access to Sim contacts.
When you go into contacts and contacts to display, does it give you the option of SIM/Phone contacts.
It is more about having direct Sim/Phone contact access as official samsung ROM than anything else to be honest.
Regards,
BW
Agree problem is not a Samsung rom 4.04 .
Current Samsung builds have import from Sim card .

I use a GPS service to locate my phone. The service sends a text to start the GPS lockon. Sometimes the sms disappears after being received. I can even open my message hub and watch the sms appear after being received and then quickly disappear after one second. I also receive the notifications which lead to the message hub.
I have no 3rd party sms apps. I am running Blackstar VI ROM. I've had this problem with stock ROM as well. It seems like the messages are being moved to a different location or app.... Any help?
Wrong forum. Please move to Q&A if possible.
Moved Thanks
Don't many location apps hide the incoming message so as not to alert a third you are looking for the phone via GPS?
Which app is it, you may want to look in the settings or manual for that specific app you are using.

Hello, I use go SMS pro on my galaxy s3 and had sent in the region of 7000 to my partner since I've had the phone. I had turned on the auto delete function and everything was working fine until tonight where I realised I only had 232 messages in the specific thread. I am worried because I generally keep my messages and there was some important information in them that I don't want to loose. When I go into my messages app the number is still at 232.
Can anyone help please.
Hi, I have a Samsung Galaxy S3.
My friend has a Samsung Galaxy Ace 4.
We are both on the EE (Everything, Everywhere) Network.
If I go to Contacts -> Groups - select a group and then edit it, I have a Message alert setting.
This setting allows a tone to be set for text messages to a specific group.
I was thinking of upgrading to Ace 4 or Galaxy S5 but when I look on his Ace 4 - I can't find the Message alert setting in Contacts/Groups.
To clarify - on the Galaxy S3, I can set a Message alert per-contact or per-group (or both).
In the Ace 4, I can set a Message alert per-contact only, the option for per-group doesn't seem to be present.
Has this option been removed in a later version of Android?
If not - how can I restore it?
If it was removed, why - and where would I find equivalent functionality?
My S3 is using Android 4.3, the Ace 4 is using Android 4.4.4.
In case it matters, the Messaging system being used on both phones is the inbuilt Messaging app, not WhatsApp or Hangouts.
If anyone can point me in the right direction, it'd be appreciated
